ADDING A SPRING TREND TO MODERNIZE MY OUTFIT
When you move or are in the process of moving, there will always be a lot of changes. We have lived in the Grundy house since 1995 and loved that house. We’ve talked about moving over the years, but something would keep us right where we were. We finally decided to buy a home in Abingdon, VA, which is about 1 1/2 hours away since we would still be able to be back in Grundy quickly.
We miss our son and grandchildren, friends, and the lumber company, but we are slowly acclimating to the new house. I’ve been driving back and forth quite a lot to pack up things or work at the lumber company. When I make those trips, I usually try to squeeze in a hair and nail appointment while I’m there.
The other day, it dawned on me that I could drive 1 1/2 hours to Grundy to get my hair and nails done, or I could drive 3 hours to Tennesse and get my daughter-in-law to do my hair. I know it is twice as long to go to Tennessee, but my parents, son, grandchildren, brother, aunts, uncles, and cousins live there. Since I have my hair done every 5 to 6 weeks, I now have a scheduled trip where I’ll get to visit with my family for a few days.
It’s hard to change hairdressers, especially when you love one, but I know my DIL will do a great job. I hope my mother’s “to-do” list won’t be too long for me every trip. Lol!
If you’ve read my blog very long, then you know I am a big fan of a cable knit design. This cable knit turtleneck sweater combines a cable knit design with a diamond pattern, and the result is stunningly beautiful. The sweater’s softness is almost visible in this picture; it feels great against your skin. I’ve found that I like a chunky turtleneck better than the thin version. I think the chunkier neck helps hide my extra chins better. Lol!
Here is the photo from the back so you can see the sweater’s length and that the design extends all over. I love this light blue shade, but there are a couple of other colors to choose from, including a vibrant pink/purple color. I’m wearing a size medium, and I still have plenty of wiggle room available.
Bright colors are a Spring trend this year, and using accessories is an easy way to participate in the trend. I added this bright pink/rose handbag and a bright pink lip (I’m wearing Radiant Pink) to the pale blue outfit, and it sure livened things up. The handbag was sold out earlier, but it is now back in stock.
I kept my jewelry simple and only added a pair of Statement Gold Hoop Earrings and my David Yurman Cable Loop Bracelet. I’ve worn these hoop earrings almost daily, and they are probably my favorite earrings. The David Yurman bracelet was a gift, and I wear it all the time too. I like that it has both silver and gold in the design since it takes all the guesswork out of which color I want to wear.
I’m wearing classic ankle pants in navy with today’s look. These classic ankle pants will be an addition to your wardrobe that you can wear for years. Anytime you buy something that you can wear for years and years, no matter how expensive, it becomes affordable. It honestly took me a long time to realize this, and I tend to choose more affordable options over expensive ones based only on money. But, when I was moving and cleaning out my closet, I found that the affordable options were put in the “give away or donate” pile way more often than the items I paid more for. I didn’t keep the more expensive things because I paid more for them, but because they were still in good shape and still brought me joy. Maybe I treated the more expensive items with more care than the affordable items, but I’m not sure if that is the case.
I’m between sizes right now, so I usually order a .5 or a 1 from Chico’s. This is a .5, and I think they fit great.
Neutral shoes are usually what I tend to wear the most. They go with everything, and they don’t call attention to my size 9 foot. I buy many of my shoes from J.Crew Factory, including these kitten heels. They are already sold out, but I have all of the ones below, and they would also work for this look. I find J.Crew Factory shoes run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size.

OK I think you should pretty much live in this blue. I give you a 255 score, been watching the Olympics. 😉 I also wondered what state you lived in. My husband worked in Crystal City for a year near Arlington. And every girl should own a bright pink purse.
I love the pink purse and am disappointed that it isn’t there when I go to the link. 🥲
Love the hot pink with the outfit…hot pink is a summer favorite and a happy color. BTW, after enjoying your blog for a couple years, I realized you live near where I grew up and all my family is still there. I live outside Charlotte, NC but go thru Abingdon to go to my parents home.
God Bless and much success. Love the verses at the end of your post and on Sunday.
Easy breezy outfit that looks so pretty!
You look so pretty! This is my style. I wish I could find it all in plus size.
I love your outfit today. I just ordered the light blue cable sweater from Loft. I think you look fabulous!
I just wanted to say that you really look fabulous since your weight loss. And, when you show posts from the past, you are actually looking younger now! You’re not getting older – you’re getting better girl!
I love the pop of color with the pink handbag.
gorgeous sweater! love the outfit details!
I just love the color of that sweater. It’s a color I don’t have in my wardrobe currently. Definitely gonna do something about that. Thanks Tania.
You look so nice in this elegant outfit. I love the navy pants and I like the top in the blue, but I do like the brighter purple clover color even more. I tend to buy less expensive items because my weight always flucuates so much.
The sweater is such a pretty shade of blue and I love the pink handbag. I bought a Coach crossbody bag in a similar shade of pink last year and look forward to using it again once spring arrives.
You look very nice today. Love the sweater on you. I also think your hair looks great right now. A little longer and it has some movement to it. Color is perfect on you. Have a blessed day.
Love the outfit today!!! Sweater & Shoes🧡
Love Chico’s. Before I retired three years ago, I bought most of my clothes there. I still wear almost all of them when I go somewhere. I have jeans from there that I wear a lot, too. I love the blue with the bright pink.
This is such a pretty outfit on you, that you can wear to do just about anything. I was able to get the bright pink tote and I can’t wait to start using it! Have a great day!
Love the sweater and esp. the color on you! It is such a soft look! Does it run big?
You, losing weight, is certainly noticeable!
Pam, I don’t think it runs big, just relaxed. The medium fits me great.
Love the beautiful blue sweater, however I live in FL so we are putting sweater weather behind us. This week our temps will be in the low 80’s. Enjoy your blog very much Tania!
I bet you are enjoying the warm weather. It is still going to be sweater weather for a while longer here.
I love the beautiful blue color of the sweater.
This color blue is gorgeous, especially for spring.
