ABOVE THE KNEE DRESS
I don’t know about you, but I can never find the exact length I want a dress to hit on my leg. I love a Maxi dress, maybe that is why. They take all the guess work out of the equation. I prefer wearing an above the knee dress. This dress hits “just” above the knee, if could have been a little shorter and would have been fine.
Most of you probably live where getting someone to hem your dress an inch or two is no big deal. That would not be the case here, we are limited on a lot of resources others might take for granted. I am sure there is someone here that does that kind of alterations, I just do not know who they are. I really need to find someone though, I have several dresses that need to be hemmed, and a couple pair of pants that could use some darts. I know when I watched What Not To Wear, they altered almost everything.
I like this hot pink dress. I like all the little cut-out designs that gives it a textured look. It is probably not the most flattering style for me, I could use a little more flare in the hip area to help create curves. I am built more like a ruler, so I like items that enhance and create curves. This dress is from Old Navy, and it is several years old.
Old Navy Dress: Cream | Similar | Stripes |PlusI have Plundered out in today’s outfit. Let’s start with the necklace and go down. The necklace is called the Tarah. I bought this necklace before I started being a stylist. A friend of mine came into work wearing the necklace, and I bought it off her neck. It is that gorgeous! The large pearl drops in the Paige bracelet, matched the pearl drop of the necklace, so I thought it would go well in this look. I like that it has a toggle bar closure, it makes putting it on and taking it off much easier. The teardrop bracelet with all the rhinestones is call the Edith, and the turquoise stone bracelet is called the Eunice. Both of these bracelets have been very versatile. I do sometimes have a problem getting credit from the website, so it you place an order, please let me know. I am going to try something different, here is the website: http://www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens that will have you shopping with me. Try copying and pasting this in the address line, and hopefully it will work. If not, then type in my stylist number 241007 in the stylist box at checkout. I have started an online party, and there is a dropdown box where you can choose Tania’s P Party at checkout also.
Have you seen these shoes before? I told you that I had already worn this gorgeous pair of Nina Shoes three times. Here is look number two. I am so glad that Nina Shoes reached out to me, I think my choice was perfect. YOU also can get in on a fantastic deal, by typing in 50isnotold at the checkout to receive 20% off your purchase. This code is only good through August 7th, so don’t dilly dally. Lol!
Don’t you just love it when a look comes together? I added my cobalt blue tote to highlight the blue in the necklace. This is just a cheap tote, and I think I picked it up at Old Navy or TJ Maxx. I can’t remember, but I think it was under 20.00. I have gotten a lot of wear from this tote, especially for the price I paid.
Blue Tote: Similar | Similar | SimilarI wore this outfit to church, and I threw on this longer cardigan before I left the house. It is usually cold, so I try to have a sweater somewhere handy. If it is warmer, then I can always take it off, but I hate sitting there chilling.
I took a few pictures with Joe after we got back to the house. Don’t you just love the laughter and the foot raise? If you can see the reflection in the window glass, you will see that he is appreciating some of my curves. Haha

I love the sweater, where did you get it?
Jana, that is one that I got at the QVC overstock store in town. It is by Joan Rivers.
appreciating your curves… haha! i love it. I am so glad you finally fessed up and told Joe about your blog. 😉 I love this dress. I too feel that I should have more of my clothes altered, but what a pain! LOL.
Gorgeous dress! I love the red and the eyelet details 🙂

I have just found your blog and I love it! I too worry about dressing to young but I don’t feel old so why dress old! I also ordered some It cosmetics to try.
The dress & shoes are perfect! You look stunning Tania. I’m sure enjoying my Plunder jewelry thanks to you. All you gurls should try at least one piece from Plunder, you will love it. It’s well made and very fashionable!
Joe is just too cute, you guys look very much in love!
Your Texas friend,
Sandi
In the words and exuberance of my granddaughter Erin Christine “Oh my gosh” you look stunning in that coral and blue! I love the fun picture with your hubby – beautiful couple.
Great post! I often wear coral and navy, but never cobalt blue. I’ll have to try that immediately. — I’m tickled to see Joe. I’ve often wondered what he looks like when you’ve mentioned something he’s done or said. You should “style” him for a post.
I agree, the perfect dress length is hard to find. That bright coral dress is gorgeous and I love it paired with cobalt. The necklace and tote are so pretty. =)

I just adore your abilities to coordinate outfits!!! Your “finished looks” make it seem effortless, but I believe it’s a true talent and flair! ( My lovely mom had that same uncanny sense of style, and carried it well into her 90’s!)
I really enjoy your posts, and hopefully I’m learning a few things as well!
Coral and royal blue are too of my favorite colors, but wouldn’t think to put them together. I think they look so great! I never looked in the window at the reflection, before you mentioned it…Too cute!
Love this look. Dresses and I do not go together ! I always have such a hard time with them. But you look so cute.
Love you posted with hubby so cute.
Usually your local dry cleaner can do simple alterations like a hem. I usually pen the hem where I want it.
Love it!!!!
Love the pink and blue together!!! Such cute pics!
Jaymie
What a cute couple !! So fun loving!
Your dress brings out those beautiful eyes you have!
Why does it always have to be so hard to find the perfect legnth and worry about my age in deciding as well!
I’m 54 and 5’3″” I don’t want short but don’t want under the knee frumpy ugh
Anyway you make me smile every morning Tania!
What did I just saw!!!! You linked up!!! Oh Tania, I know you are very busy and that you took the time to linkup is so very appreciated. I think that is really sweet of you. Thank you..
Tania, this dress is the perfect length for you.You have inspired me to try to hem some of my dresses. I am not very good at sewing, but I probably use some iron on hemming tape. Tell Joe we all think he is cute! 😉
Love this dress!! Also love the sweater with it!! Beautiful as always
Everything about this post is fun!! You just make me smile every time I read your posts. I agree that where a dress hits on your leg is important. You’re married to a Joe too! Never met a Joe who isn’t a good guy. And LOL mine does the same, ahem, curve appreciation stuff! ??
Ah, you two look like you just met each other!? I have the same issue as you. I had a dress who was one size to big and I hate sewing. So yesterday when I had this terrible headache, I stiched it by hand. It seemed to work, but I think that when I am going to wear it, the stiches will not held! W ll see. You look stunning in that dress! What a lovely color! Today is Fancy Friday linkup!

Love?…these colors together ! Super Cute!
Love the dress!!! I wish I was a dress person but my short and pudgy legs keep me in pants or capris!
I am not a huge dress fan, Amy. But they take almost all the guesswork out of getting dressed. ONE item, and you’re done. Joe likes for me to wear dresses, so I try occasionally try to wear one through the week.
What a great color combination! I am headed to TJ Maxx today and will look for something new to mix up my look.
The photo is great of you and Joe. It shows that you both can have such fun!
I want to go too!!! I haven’t got to go shopping in a really looooong time. I may be having withdrawals. Lol!
You two are such an adorable couple! Love this dress, especially with the blue sweater and tote.
I think you look great in the dress! You and Joe are SO cute together! Rhonda
Love this look. The texture of the dress is interesting and the color is lovely. While you mention the cut of the dress could be more flattering, I think you look terrific in it! Prefer the outfit without the sweater, but then I lean toward the “less is more” school of thought. Nice how you present different options for different settings and personal tastes.
Good to see your “Mister” again. You make one smart looking pair.
Mary, I liked it better without the sweater also. But, I knew I had better take it with me, and I needed it. Lol!
Such a super cute post Tania – love the picture of you and your hubby – you look so cute together! I think the dress looks perfect length on you but know what you mean about it being had to get just the right length for dresses.
