It’s Thursday, so I thought I would do a try-on haul. Today, I’m showing you two different looks from Chico’s, and these looks will be great for now and for this spring. I don’t care what that Groundhog saw; I’m predicting an early spring. I figure that I have about as much chance of being correct with my weather prediction as Phil does. Lol!

While typing the paragraph above, I decided to check the weather forecast. My weather is supposed to be mild for the next 10 days, but I saw that the midwest was bracing for a winter storm. I sure hope everyone keeps their power and stays warm if the storm hits. I love snow, but I hate how it can disrupt people’s lives.

I will say this is one of my favorite looks that I’ve worn in a while. The thing that I like about this outfit is it is casual and elegant at the same time. This is the perfect outfit for wearing when you’re unsure what to wear. Unless you’re going someplace calling for a dressy look, this outfit will work.

I would describe this tapestry print blouse as beautiful, elegant, classy, and silky. The blouse is 100% polyester, hence the silky part. It is a nice length and is long enough to cover your rear, but you can also tuck it in for a more polished look. The sleeves are my favorite part, and the cuffs have contrasting welting and buttons. The welting goes across the shoulders on the back, but I didn’t get a picture of that. I am wearing a size 1, and it fits great and doesn’t gap at the buttons or cling to my lumps or bumps.

Quilted jackets are trending and having a “moment.” I usually steer away from quilting because I think it adds extra pounds to me that I don’t need. However, this quilted car coat is lightweight and somewhat slimming. I love the length, and it is a great spring coat. It adds just enough warmth without adding bulk.

As you can see, the length in the back has good coverage. This will be one of those coats that you grab for everything. It can be worn on errands, walking the dog, out to lunch, or to work. This coat will become your go-to spring coat. I am wearing a size 1, and it fits great.

I tried to get a close-up photo of my blue drop earrings, but I failed miserably. Lol! At least you get to see the coat up close. I was trying to decide if I should roll the cuffs to show the shirt underneath, and I ended up with one rolled and one down. Hahaha!

I love the So Slimming® Girlfriend Ankle Jeans by Chico’s. These jeans fit great since they aren’t too loose or too tight. The girlfriend cut is slimmer than a boyfriend cut, and the No Tummy Girlfriend Jeans feature a slightly stretchy fabric powered by exclusive So Slimming® Hidden Fit technology that slims and smooths at the tummy. I need all of the help I can get when it comes to holding in my tummy area. These are an ankle-length pair of jeans, and I am wearing the Galaxy Indigo color. I’m wearing a size 1 in these jeans, and they fit a tiny bit lose, but I was afraid the .5 might have been too tight.

This outfit feels more like a spring to me. It might be the classic navy and white tunic, or it could be the alabaster pants that give the “springy” feel. It was 55 degrees outside when I took these photos, so the outfit seemed appropriate for the weather.

Navy and white are one of my favorite color combinations. It looks crisp and clean with a tiny bit of a nautical vibe thrown in for good measure.

Let me start with the important details about this navy and white striped tunic. NO-IRON! My job here is done. Lol! Okay, if I am being honest, the bow detail at the cuffs swayed me, but the no-iron fabric is sure a nice bonus. I love the classic look of this top, and I think it can be worn casually and dressy. I’m wearing a size 1, and it fits great.

Here is a close-up of the bow detail on the cuffs. Also, if you look closely through my hair, you can see the blue cubic zirconia hoop earrings.

Here is a back view, and you can see that the tunic is a great length and covers your rear.

If you’ve not tried the So Slimming Brigitte Slim Ankle Pants, then today is your day. For one thing, they are on sale. And, for another thing, they fit great and are super lovely pants. They have Hidden Fit technology that shapes your style for a figure-trimming fit. These pants come in many colors, and I’m wearing Alabaster today. I always size up when I wear white pants to make sure that they are too tight, so I am wearing a size 1. I think they are a little loose, but I meant for them to be that way.

My Franco Sarto leather wedge shoes are a great neutral. These have been sold out for a long time, so I am surprised to see some sizes are once again available. I love that these shoes can be worn with almost anything. I am wearing my usual size 9, and they run TTS.

For Valentine’s Day, I wanted to have a Lash Boost special. Some of you might not know, but I never had long lashes before October 2016, when I started using Lash Boost by Rodan and Fields.

I wanted to be a preferred customer but they say there is something wrong when I enter my Canadian phone #. I’m in Florida right now until the end of the month.

  5. Elizabeth says:

Love love the first outfit. Looks fabulous on you. I think the blouse is a little pricey in comparison to the other items all from the same store but that is just me. Those jeans look fabulous on you.

  6. I prefer the 1st look with the car jacket. I agree with what you said about it being casual & elegant at the same time. Plus it looks comfortable. I’m not a fan of the navy and white shirt. Those bows at the wrist look too fussy for me and I think they would just get in the way.

  7. Okay, this is just weird.
Last night before climbing into bed I pulled out clothes to try on for this morning’s early appt. It was a pair of jeans, a blue and white striped top and a white duster. Then I read the post!

I bought a very similar blue print shirt at Chico’s a few yrs ago. It has roll tab sleeves.

The car coat is too cute. It reminds me of one I had in the 60s. I’m really tempted!

  8. I really like both looks. You look great in shades of blue. I like the striped tunic but those bows would drive me crazy. I would be afraid I would catch on fire when I am cooking. LOL Just me.

  9. krista rogers says:

I have been looking at the striped blouse for some time now. concerned about how the bow sleeves will wash up though. I LOVED both looks though. I wasnt a Chico’s girl until you and now I have a lot of their looks

  10. Michelle Hamric says:

I bought this beautiful multicolored blouse at Chico’s a couple of weeks ago. In person, the colors and details are amazing. It’s one of those pieces that looks better when you see it. Online it didn’t do it justice. This blouse will go with many of my jackets, sweaters and bottoms. I almost bought the navy and white striped blouse but, for me, the bows at the wrist was just too much going on. Love your outfits. Bring on Spring! I can dream about it. We’re currently in a severe Winter storm of ice and 6.5 inches of snow in Springfield, Missouri. Possibly 3-5 more to come today.

  11. Would you say the coat is true to size?

  12. My favorite of the 2 outfits is the blue quilted jacket, print blouse with jeans. The shoes look great with everything?

    1. I love that outfit, and I’ll wear the jacket a TON! I do love those shoes and I think they look great with pants, jeans, dresses, and shorts.

  13. A ten on both outfits. These are my two favorite looks so far this year. I could wear either outfit anywhere and they do mix and match. Yeah for Chicos. They have some great new clothes,

    1. I really liked both looks too!
