I was laughing yesterday when I was scrolling Facebook, and I came across one of my friends who had played the “what you will look like when you get older” game. You click on the game, and it uploads your profile picture, and then it will show you a picture of what it thinks you will look like later in life. My friend’s photo showed a lady with LOTS of cats all around her. She thought it was funny because she said that her husband says that she is only one cat away from being a crazy cat lady. Lol!!! Let me tell you what I did to Joe when we first got married.
I love cats, but Joe is not as big a fan as I am. He doesn’t mind having cats as long as they are outside cats. I found a kitten for sale once, and I went and bought it, but I told him that I found it along the road because I KNEW that he would not want me to get the cat. When he came home and saw the cat, he said that we had to get the kitten back to the rightful owner. No problem, right? Lol! He wanted to go driving where I “found” the kitten, and see if anyone was out looking for it or if there were any missing signs, I agreed to go with him, so we hopped in the car and took off. We had driven around for a while, and I thought we were heading back to the house when he spots two kids out playing beside the road. He stopped and asked them if this was their cat. They, of course, said no, but then he said, “well, would you like to have the cat?” They, of course, said yes! WHAT??? He gave them my kitten! I couldn’t tell him that I had bought the kitten (I only paid 25.00) since I had lied and said that I had found it beside the road. He was happy as a lark, and I learned a good lesson about fibbing. Then he went on to tell me that if I ever brought home another inside cat, he would divorce me. Remind me to tell all of you at a later time, about the time I brought home THREE cats in one week. LOL!!!
This top by Karen Kane was the very first outfit that I styled on the blog. I styled it again in 2016 (here) in almost the same fashion. Lol! I had forgotten that I had even worn it before. Usually, I will add a pop of yellow to this top, but today, I decided to stay in the same color family. The front tie style top is very popular at this time, and you will find them in a lot of the stores. I recently postedone that I bought while I was in the Atlanta area a couple of weeks ago. I love the blue and white print; I think it looks fresh and clean. Adding the Joan Rivers short sleeve navy cardigan gave me some warmth without covering up this gorgeous top. I like the effect of the sleeves showing under the short sleeve sweater, but I am curious if this is a style that you like.

love the story about the cat although I would have put my foot down and said I was keeping the cat lol ?. Love the tie top and Clark’s are some of my favourite brands so can totally get behind your sandals. Also loving wide legged cropped trousers. They were very ‘in’ last summer and as a result I own several pairs. Have a great Tuesday xx
Lisa, I agree with you about Clark’s sandals. They are a fabulous brand for mixing style with comfort. That is hard to find in most shoes.
Yay!!! High waisted pants!!!!!
I am trying to embrace them, Brenda. It is hard to adjust because I like my low waisted jeans. Lol!
OH my gosh, Tania!! Your kitten story is hilarious!!
Yes I would wear this outfit and I love the tie front tops, both the front tie and the side tie and I like blue! I like the high rounded neck one in the link but will have to try and keep an eye on that one to go on sale.
Morning Tania! Let start by saying I love your blog and look forward to it every morning. And now to be brutally honest. I’m an animal lover and you can never hand an animal over to someone or some place you have no idea what will happen to it, especially children. It was a horrible idea and it should have been taken to your nearest shelter. Thanks you!
Welcome to the blog, Kelley. While I love brutally honest people, you don’t know the rest of the story. Joe thought the cat was wondering the streets, so he found it a home instead of kicking it back out the door. After he left for work the next day, I went back to the house to make sure that the cat was welcome. I explained to the lady what had happened and offered to take the cat back. I was going to give it back to the people that I had bought it from. She laughed and said they loved the cat, theirs had died about a year ago. She was only concerned that the children had talked to strangers bearing gifts, and they got a stern talking to. Lol!
You look really great! You know, I would not normally want to put a short sleeved cardigan over a long sleeved blouse, but I think this mimics the sleeve styles that are popular now–where it’s a “normal” straight sleeve from the shoulder down to a point, then there’s a seam and a puffier sleeve at the bottom. It works and is super cute. Pinned!
Thanks for the “rest of the story” Tania!
Laughed when you said you “only paid $25.00 for the kitten”. In my area, kittens are “free
for the taking”Lol.
I am sure that there are plenty of free kittens around here also. But, this was a Siamese!
Love the tie top and yes, to high waisted jeans. I just bought 2 pair and love the comfort and the smooth look.
Funny story about the cat. My husband is not a cat fan either. He & Joe sound a lot a like on that score. Lovin’ the Clarks shoes. Not a fan of this new trend with high waists and flared legs. I’ll stick with my skinny mid-rise jeans.
Oh I am thrilled high waisted jeans are back in style. Trying to hide that muffin top is not easy. Cute outfit today. I would have fessed up to buying the kitten and insisted on keeping it.
I loved high waisted pants in the seventies, not sure how I will love them in my FIFTIES?! BUT… love the Clark sandles, gonna need a pair of those❣️
Clarks sandals are sooooooo comfortable. I personally think sandals are what they do best.
I totally identify w the cat story, as my husband also did not like cats. So tell me the 3 cat story! Thx for always showing us the newest styles!
What a cute story about the kitten. My husband and I are both animal lovers. He especially loves cats and I am the dog lover. We have a house full of rescued fur babies, 4 cats and 3 dogs! I love the comfort of Clark’s shoes and these sandals are so cute! I am a size 9 as well so if you ever get tired of them you can send them to me (hint hint) 😉 I hope you are having a great week!
You look wonderful! Please tell them for me that 50 is not old or a death sentence. You look as young as you fix yourself to be!
