How many of you still have landline phones? I bet the amount of people who still have landline phones is drastically lower now than it would have been ten years ago. You can count Joe and me in the ones who have finally gone all wireless. We resisted giving up our landline phone until recently. We reasoned that we owned a business, and the landline was a way for someone in town to call us since they could look up the phone number in the directory. Almost all of our calls would come in on our personal cell phones, and the only calls that we got on the landline were robocalls.
The robocalls were what prompted us to say goodbye to the landline finally. Nowadays, people message us through Facebook if they want to get in touch with us. Lol!!! Boy, how things have changed. I like that my phone goes with me, no more call forwarding. But when your cell service is acting up, you don’t have a backup plan. The internet has been wonky for about a month with everyone complaining about it being slow. I assumed that Verizon would get their act together and have everything back to normal, but now the cell service is acting up also. Three times today, I had to power down my phone and reset it so that I could talk to someone. They would call me, but they couldn’t hear me when I answered. Then, if we were talking, the call would drop suddenly. Ugh, I hate it when I am at the mercy of someone who doesn’t know me, and doesn’t care if I am happy. So, I called Verizon to tell them about the issues that have been going on in town. Is it possible that they didn’t know??? Joe has a saying that I am going to employ until they get the situation fixed, “the squeaky wheel gets the oil.”
The star of this outfit is my jacket with pearls. I am intentionally wearing a statement piece over my little black dress from Old Navy so that the attention is taken away from the dress. The goal is to make someone focus on the jacket, instead of the fact that I am wearing the same dress that I wore in this post. Each look this week is geared toward a theme, and today’s theme is “a night out” look. I went from a very casual style in yesterday’s post, to a very dressy look in today’s. This is an excellent example of how a plain dress can be used in a multiple of different styles. In case you missed the link for the dress yesterday, here it is again.
Let’s face it, with an embellished jacket like this; you don’t require a lot of jewelry. I added a single oversized pearl stud called te Shaila. This is a classic earring, and you will be able to wear this with a lot of different outfits. The fact that they are only 8.00 should make it a no-brainer. I also added the Torilynn bracelet that has multiple rows of pearls. It features a magnetic closure, so it is effortless to put on and take off.
How do you like this beautiful black jacket with all of the pearls? I fell in love with this jacket when I first saw it, and I knew that it was going home with me. This is super old, but it still looks brand new. I honestly don’t wear it a lot, but it makes a big statement when I do. This is by Joan Rivers, and I found a couple of them available on eBay that I’ll link to below. I thought that the look was a classic style, so I added a classic style shoe also. I am wearing black pumps by Coach. Pumps are a classic style, and you will be able to wear them for years and years. Because they will not be going out of style, I would suggest getting a “good” pair that will last you for a while.
