Shopping My Closet
I see a lot of articles and blogs talking about “shopping my closet”. My outfit today is a great example of doing just that. This oversized cowl neck sweater is one that I have had for quite a while. When my husband and I wear first starting to date, I bought a couple sweaters to wear on some of our dates. I bought a brand new sweater (I have it stored away somewhere) to wear on our first date. I was so thrilled, and anxiously waited him to pick me up. Just guess where he took me?
He picked me up and we drove to the college campus where he was going to school. He needed to go inside for a few moments and do something in the computer room. Three hours later we finally got to leave. By then I was tired and just wanted to go back to the house. Can you believe we not only had a 2nd date, but we got married? Lol!
This sweater is one that I bought when we were still dating. Since our 30th anniversary is this November, that makes this sweater about 30 years old. I always wear it at least once a year. It never fails to bring a smile to my face.
I am leaving to take my daughter to the airport at 3:30 in the morning. So, I am sorry, but this blog is going to be mostly pictures. Every piece in this post has been worn before, with the exception of the sweater.
If you don’t mind, I would appreciate it if you would say a small prayer for my daughter’s safe travel back to Alaska.
If you want to know where something came from, just shoot me a comment. Sorry but it is 9:15 and I am off to bed. I promise tomorrow’s blog will be better.
Be sure to check out yesterday’s blog for my 4 month giveaway.
This is also something I WANT and NEED: I have added a subscription button to the blog, right under the recent posts tab. I would appreciate it if you would take the time to sign up. You will then be notified by email when a new post is made.
Be sure to follow me on Pinterest, Bloglovin, Instagram, and Facebook.
Wednesday’s Linkup will be The Pleated Poppy. Be sure to check her out.
I have a number of clothing pieces I’ve owned for years, but I don’t think any hit the 30-year mark. It still looks great! Thanks for adding your fashion flair to the My Refined Style Linkup!

You are an inspiration to women over 50 who love looking stylish! I can tell that you really enjoy your life. You look very happy, healthy and beautiful. I am 65 years old and I lead a busy, yet simple lifestyle, but still enjoy putting “snappy” outfits together even though I’m just going out to run errands and the like!
I love this when you shop your closet and find something fun! Great look !

Thanks everyone for your prayers and kind words about my daughter. She is en-route to Seattle as I type. The long necklace I have on is on from a lady who sells on etsy called Artistic Icing. Here is the link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/artisticicing

I love your bag! and your blog! Can you tell me more about it, please?
Prayers for a safe journey for your daughter.
Hope her travels are safe!!!
I love this sweater!!!! I’m all about comfy, cowl neck sweaters in the winter. They’re so cozy. And the nice warm brown tones are perfect. Super cute!!!!
It’s a miracle you married him! That sweater is proof you should hang on to the clothes you love because they will either come back in style or they are just timeless. Lord, protect Tania’s daughter as she travels, give her favor with all with whom she comes in contact, and help her to sense your loving Presence!
You look adorable. I can’t believe your sweater is that old! Thanks for inspiring me to shop in my closet. I really enjoy your blog.
My husband planned our first date but I think I have planned everything since! Love the outfit and the jewelry. Just wondering, do you ever purge clothing? I am doing that right now so that I can make room for more quality items. You mentioned that the sweater from the other day was from Target and you don’t usually buy clothes from there. Target is my main source. Maybe that’s why I have so much to purge!
You have my prayers that her traveling will go well. Saying good bye will once again be hard but remembering the memories you made will bring many smiles to your heart! I can tell you love her very much.
Love the outfit! Said a prayer for your daughter. My nephew just left going back to Alaska. I never rest easy until they have safely arrived.
Love the sweater and story Sweater looks like new Praying for safe travels for your daughter
