Joe and I attended a Halloween party last weekend. I will use any excuse to wear mink.
This blanket wrap was a Christmas present from my sister-in-law a couple years ago. Not only is it soft, warm and gorgeous, it is plaid. But guess what, today is the first time I have worn it. I hung it on a hanger, and that was all she wrote. I forgot all about it! When I found it, it was just like Christmas morning all over again.
No, I am not on a cruise ship recreating the movie scene from the Titanic. Instead, I am co-hosting a linkup with Nicole Mölders called Top of the World Style. This is a first for me, and I am beyond excited! I have appeared on linkups, and have even been featured, but I have never co-hosted.
I like the color blocking fashion, especially if the designer has done the hard work for me. Take this poncho that I bought at Versona a couple of months ago. The designer picked out the colors, decided the perfect placement, and made the garment. I bought it! LOL
I look and feel like crap. Believe me, you do not need this visual. So, since I have not been smart enough to have a few article and pictures set back for emergencies, you are going to be graced with pictures of my trip to Tennessee to see my grand babies. I hope to be feeling better tomorrow, till then just enjoy the kiddo’s.
This weekend is a busy time for me. I am helping with a Superhero party on Saturday, and going to a Halloween party fundraiser at our local Country Club Saturday night. So, my weekend fashion is “worker bee” casual. I will be climbing ladders, crawling in the floor, and carrying load and load from the car.
Since I finally fessed up and told my husband about my blog, I talked him into having a picture of the two of us made. We were dressed, and before we started out the door, I got out the tripod and pulled him along. The pictures have an ugly shadow, because of the flash, but I love them anyway.
Last Wednesday I read a post about mixing patterns. Jo-lynne Shane did a post on wearing stripes and leopard print. She opted for a black & white striped top, black skinny jeans, and leopard print shoes. Of course she looked super cute, as always. But, what caught my attention was, she said, “You may even have most of these items in your closet”. So, I decided to shop my closet, and do my own version.
Just because I started a blog about fashion, doesn’t mean I don’t have fashion mishap’s. Take this outfit for example. I absolutely LOVE this top. I wear it all the time, it is thread bare. This was purchased in Alaska, probably 4 years ago, on a trip to visit my daughter. I wear it in the summer without an undershirt, and of course in the winter with a shirt under it. I wear it with capri’s and usually jeans. It is, in fact, my go to shirt for traveling. It is soft and flowy and hide’s all kinds of middle area problems. BUT, something about this look just doesn’t look right. Maybe it is the pants are too dressy, maybe the top looks too long, (my legs are not really that short) or maybe I just let my love for the top blind me to it’s look.
You might have noticed a different setup to my pictures today. I was so lucky to have a talented photographer take my photo’s this morning. My niece, who is 13, came in for my grand babies birthday party and agreed to take my pictures. She is so talented, I think she might have a future in photography.
