Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a bright cobalt blue paisley tie-front top and blue pants with tan sandals with spikes from Steve Madden I was thrilled to see so many positive responses and comments on yesterday’s post. If you did not see that post, then you need to check it out (HERE) because the comments were terrific! I thought that it was great seeing how all of you had to concentrate on what you LIKED about your body, instead of the normal grumble of things that we wish we could change. There are a lot of things that I think I would want to change, but overall, I am satisfied with what I have.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a bright cobalt blue paisley tie-front top and blue pants with tan sandals from Steve Madden However, my sweet granddaughter didn’t do me any favors over the weekend when it comes to my body. It was bedtime, so she and I had gotten in bed, and we were going to watch a movie on my computer. I was loving on her, and she went to hug me when all at once she said, “NeeNee, why do your arms feel so funny?” Then she proceeded to poke me in my upper arms while giving me a strange look. “NeeNee, your arms feel like jello!” Well, alright, then! That is a way to win friends and influence enemies.

Yes, my arms jiggle, wave, and flap in the wind. My arms also are full of love, hugs, and made for lifting others up. Could I do more to make then toned, defined, and firm? Oh, HECK, yes! But, I am not going to stress because they are like jello…I happen to like jello. Lol!
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a bright cobalt blue paisley tie-front top and blue pants Okay, how many of you are looking at my arms? Hahaha! Even though I have jello arms (thanks Emersyn), I am still going to wear sleeveless tops. Don’t let your “less than firm” arms keep you from enjoying a fashion that you like. Wouldn’t you know that I ordered in lots of sleeveless tops when it decided to have a cold spell? Y’all, it is 47 degrees here as I am taking these photos. Lol! See, blogging is not all glamourous! This paisley print tie-front top is so pretty and striking. I love the crisp, bright colors, and the tie is flattering for most people. It draws your attention to the center of your body, and that helps to create a thinner look.

The thicker straps of this top are nice since they are wide enough for you to wear a regular bra. And, the deep v-neckline helps to give you a longer looking neck which is flattering. I am wearing a size 1 (8-10) in this top, and I think it fits me great, especially since it is flowy through the mid-section. HERE is the link to the top.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a bright cobalt blue paisley tie-front top and blue pants with silver jewelry I added a new necklace to the look, not because it did anything for the outfit, but because it was a present for my birthday. I went to the mailbox before I started taking my photos, and I got a package in the mail. So, I opened it up, thinking that it was something that Joe had ordered. It was a Benjamin Franklin half-dollar from the year 1960. The package was from ETSY, and I was so confused. I kept thinking, “how did they know that I was turning 60?” Then, I turned the card over, and I saw that it was a present from my sister. Lol! Here is the funny thing, I have a “thing” for half-dollar coins. My dad gave me one when I was about twelve years old, and I still have it. I need to have it put in a coin holder necklace, but for now, it is in the safe deposit box for safekeeping.

The jewelry that I am wearing is the Easton geometric earrings and the Rue cuff bracelet. I didn’t think that I needed a lot of jewelry, but I wanted something to give the outfit a little pizzazz.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing tan sandals with spikes from Steve Madden Speaking of pizzazz…these sandals have plenty of pizzazz! They are the season’s hottest sandal, and you can see why. They are cute and also edgy. The spikes aren’t for everybody, but they make a statement for those willing to take a walk on the wild side. Lol! I ordered these shoes back in February or March, but there was a long waitlist for them, so I just got them a couple of weeks ago. I think that they are in stock right now, but don’t delay if you like this look. HERE is the link, and I am wearing my usual size 9.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a bright cobalt blue paisley top and blue pants with tan sandals with spikes from Steve Madden Cobalt blue is a color that I love and wear often. I had a pair of pants that I used to wear all of the time, but they were getting faded. So, when I came across this pair, I decided it was time to buy a new pair. These are the So Slimming Brigitte Side-Vent pair by Chico’s, and I am wearing a size 1 (8-10), but they are too big for me. I am still learning the size chart with Chico’s, but it doesn’t feel right for me to order a size 6 since I am actually a size 10. But, hey, who I am to argue with their method of sizing. This pant comes in 8 different colors, and all of them are on sale…except for…cobalt blue. LOL! What were the odds of that happening? HERE is the link to these pants, but remember to size down!

Psalm 139:7-10

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn,  if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

  1. Happy birthday, Tania! You look pretty, happy, and excited for life in this post! My sweet mom went to ground school and got her pilot’s license when she was 60. She was a role model for all of us!

  2. I will turn 60 this year, I retired almost 2 years ago and then wanted something fun to do, so I got a job in a retail clothing store and I love it! I never thought I could be good at that, but I surprised myself!

Happy Birthday! Both of my daughters have May birthdays and then we slip Mother’s Day in between them It’s a hard month to watch your weight. When our youngest daughter was little, she would sit on my mother’s lap and told her that her arms were like dough. Well, that daughter never held anything back Tack is for weinnies!

  5. Welcome to the 60’s! I recently turned 62! I agree that you can still learn new and do new things. I recently learned a new computer program for designing and cutting with Silhouette Cameo, have taken the instructor licensing through Terri Johnson Creates and have started a small business that instructs others to use the software.

  6. last year I took on teaching a new subject at a new school — Engineering to senior high school students. This coming year I will teach 9th grade biology — also new to me– at age 53! Plus I started my own education consulting business! Old dog — new tricks!! and I’m loving every minute of it!

  7. Happy Birthday! This is hard for me. I don’t know if it’s because I think I can do anything or because thinking I can’t do things keeps me from trying! I guess if I have to choose something it would be that I’ve raised three beautiful daughters and they’re all amazing, good girls. There were times that I thought I might not make it. With working full time and being the only child of aging parents, it’s been a hard road at times.

  8. Yes what a wonderful way to celebrate your birthday, again so generous, I retired 3 years ago, and now we go very where we can on the motorcycle, when the weather permits (I’m Canadian)
    Enjoy your birthday week !

  9. I have never liked running but I trained for a 5K after my daughter in love suggested it. Then we ran together as a family on Thanksgiving, it felt so good to accomplish something new!
