50 Is Not Old | Women Helping WomenWomen helping women. I have been at a woman’s club convention this past few days, and the central theme that surrounds me, is “Women helping Women.” It is so wonderful to be surrounded by 200 women who are all rooting for you, who are all willing to lend a helping hand, and who are all dedicated to serving their communities. It is wonderful to see women encouraging other women to step outside their comfort zone and take on leadership responsibilities. I have heard many comments throughout the convention, (yes I was eavesdropping) about how nice someone looks, how nice their hair style was, how their report was outstanding, how beautiful their singing voice was, or how organized and efficient someone was. You should have seen, the recipient of those comments, eyes light up.

Our words can make a profound and lasting impression on someone. Our actions, toward someone who is struggling, can be the turning point in their lives. Too often women are guilty of petty squabbles. We often let jealously, or spite, get in our way of reaching out to someone.

This next week, lets make a difference to someone. Try telling someone how important they are to you, and that you are so glad to call them your friend. Give compliments freely, and give out words of encouragement.

    As a Past President of our local Junior Woman’s Club I know the power of our fellow gurls and what we can accomplish. It’s a heady thing. I also had that quote in my classroom for years. Keep up the great posts. Happy Mothers Day all:-)
