WILL I GET TO GO ON A VACATION THIS YEAR

I am beginning to think that I am part amphibian. It doesn’t matter how hot it is outside, as long as I’m not in direct sun, I prefer to be outside on the porch instead of in the air-conditioned house. Joe tells me that I have no blood or no circulation. Emersyn has gotten to where she tells me that I am cold-blooded and that I burn her up when she is over at my house. Is this something that other women do, or am I just wired up differently?

My father is also one who freezes all of the time. He is even worse than I am, but not by much. Lol! All of my gifts to him usually involve heat, and things that will help to keep him warm. I’ve seen him sitting in the house with a huge puffer coat and pants with the gas logs blazing. Of course, I will turn on my heated seats in the car even in the middle of summer, so I guess I have no room to talk. Haha! So, please tell me that I am not alone, and that some of you are also in the same boat. It always feels better when you have other people in the same boat who understand what you mean.

I think that I am really missing my normal beach vacation. It seems like everything that I am choosing to wear would be perfect if I was going on vacation. Here is the thing, I may not be going on vacation right NOW, but that doesn’t mean that I’m NEVER going on vacation again. So, when I see something cute that I know I could wear the next time that I do get to go, I snap it up now. This tropical sleeveless maxi dress was one of those purchases. I love the tropical island vibe from this dress, and it would look so cute at the beach, but it is fine to wear other places also. This is a nice heavy knit dress that is soft and flowy, but it doesn’t cling to your lumps and bumps. I am wearing a size 1 in this dress, but in other brands, I would wear a size 12 in dresses.

I know that a lot of women don’t like to show their upper arms. I get it, I have saggy arms also. So, I threw on this very lightweight and sheer hot pink cardigan to hide my arms. I’ve had this cardigan since early spring, and I’ve worn it several times on the blog. Here is one of my favorite looks with this cardigan, and it is so youthful-looking. I am wearing a size medium in this cardigan, and it fits me great. It comes in a ton of colors, so I am sure that you will find one that you like.

Accessories can make the outfit. Yesterday I wore this same straw hat with the bright yard trim and summerberry tassel necklace with a different dress. This just goes to show you that you can wear the same items with different outfits, and get more wear from your items. This is especially true if you buy items in colors that you love and wear often. So, since I love wearing pink, and especially bright pink, I should be able to wear the hat and the necklace over and over again. I also added the AVI large statement hoops in gold that matches the little gold beads in the necklace. I love these large hoops, and amazingly, they are not heavy at all. Because I love them so much, I also have them in silver. Lol!

I know that you gurls hate it when I wear something that you can’t purchase. I’m sorry that this exact pair of shoes is no longer available, but they are the perfect summer dress shoe to wear with dresses. I promise that I keep looking for them, or at least a pair that is very similar so that all of you can have the perfect summer shoe also. Maybe some of you are better sleuths than I am, so the brand is G.I.L.I., and they came from QVC, just in case you want to keep looking.

I’m almost always cold unless it is on very hot summer days. That means most of the year! Living in Canada we need those heated seats and a bonus is a heated steering wheel! I probably use them September to May whenever there is a chill/freezing cold day. Love a fireplace too!

    Beautiful dress!

I’m a “freezer” too. I have a chair on my deck just outside of the house so I can get out of the A/C several times a day. Hubby says we need a revolving door!!

Oh my! That dress is gorgeous and you look fabulous in it. I am heading over to see if it is available in my size! I have never liked my arms and refused to wear sleeveless tops until last year. I finally decided that life is too short to refuse to wear sleeveless anything because I have ‘jello arms.’ It is amazing how much cooler tops, etc. are when they are sleeveless. BTW, my precious daddy always used the phrase ‘he/she is not wired right! I use it a lot also. That brought back sweet memories. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.

Like you, I yearn for the beach! We went to Aruba in October then after my husband’s radiation treatments we were going to go to Sanibel in March! Yup, not to happen! Living in Iowa we aren’t close to a REAL beach so am having withdrawals!!!!!!!!!!!! Need to get my feet in the sand for walking!

I’ve had to cancel several trips this year also. I lost money on one that was for Dallas, so that was a pain. I’ve also canceled 2 trips to the beach, and a trip to Lousiville to celebrate a friend’s birthday. PLUS, I didn’t get to see my granddaughter’s dance recital this year, which is something that I always look forward to.

Beautiful outfit today. My thermostat is like yours! I love the heat because I get cold so easily, I like to warm up outside after being in the AC. From November to May I have to wear jeans, a sweater, vest and scarf to stay warm. I don’t see the bright pink sweater as an option with the link.

I am always freezing too! I keep a shawl/wrap in my car (and my husbands) for going into the grocery or restaurants. (Unfortunately, not doing much of the restaurant stuff right now). I have lots of fluffy blankets in my family room to cover up with when the air is on! Your dress is very pretty, I love the long sweater with it!

Hmmm – I hate to say it, but I do think your wanting to set out in the shade in this summer heat is odd, but it’s ok if you like it. I wouldn’t last too long. Our heat here in the Texas panhandle has been brutal – 102-106 some says. We’re having a cold spell now it was only 99 yesterday. Lol

    Enjoy your day.

I totally understand being hot vs cold. Just yesterday it was closing in on 80°. I was wearing a long sleeveless linen tunic from Chico’s similar to the on you featured (mostly white with grey vertical stripes from last summer) and a pair of black Chico’s pullons. Hubby was wearing a pair of jeans, thick wool socks, a short sleeve polo, with a flannel long sleeve button down shirt over it plus a fleece Columbia vest. And I was warm in my sleeveless top and he looked ready for Antarctica. Go figure.

I hope you get a vacation. Ours was put on hold and now there’s a grass fire (camping in motorhome near Mt. Lassen). My girlfriend is moving to Florida and they are staying for now in their motorhome in the side yard while they are having the house recarpeted and painted. Some vacation lol. At least they can slip into house for using the shower etc.
