WHY YOU WILL NEED MORE THAN ONE OF THIS ESSENTIAL ITEM

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a white t-shirt, a black cardigan, black leggings, and a snow leopard scarfHow was everyone’s weekend? I am betting that for most of us, it was the same ole, same ole. I was talking to my Energizer Bunny Friend, and we were just commenting on how different life is now. No one was out partying at a bar this weekend, no one was going out on a date to a restaurant, and no one was heading to the movies. When you stop and think about everything that we are NOT doing, it is somewhat crazy!!!
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a white t-shirt, a long black cardigan, black leggings, and a snow leopard scarfWhat I did do instead, is stay here at the house, and Emersyn came over to spend the night. She left everyone a message on my Saturday’s blog post, and if you didn’t see it, then be sure to check it out here. I had walked out to the office to schedule my post, and she said that she had always wanted to help me with the blog. So, I brought up the blog and told her that she could leave all of you a message. She made me go over to the chair so that I couldn’t see what she was writing, and then she stressed about what to say. She kept saying, “what if they don’t like what I say?” “what if I spell something wrong?” “what if they don’t like me?” I told her that I feel the same way every day when I write the blog. I said, “some people will love you, some will like you, and some will not care for you at all.” “That is the way that life is. Everyone doesn’t like the same thing, and that is okay.”

“So, Saturday night, when she was over, I showed her everyone’s comments and let her read them. She smiled from ear to ear and was so thrilled that you gurls took the time to say hello to her. Forget the bars; little things like this is what life is all about. Thanks to all of you who took the time to make one little girl’s day!!! ???Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a white t-shirt, a black cardigan, and a leopard scarfI know that there is talk about lifting restrictions soon. I am keeping my opinions to myself about whether that is a good thing or a bad thing. But, what are people going to do who had gotten so used to wearing sweatpants, yoga pants, or pajamas??? Lol! I am going to give you a suggestion that will help you meet in the middle. My outfit today is as casual as it can get, but adding a few extra items to your look will feel like you can go to the store without feeling weird. BTW, when you are wearing a mask, no one knows who you are anyway. Lol!

Who has a white t-shirt??? I am assuming that everyone raised their hand, but if you didn’t…get yourself this basic essential!!! You can take a white t-shirt (and you really should have several) and wear them with shorts, skirts, jeans, or leggings. A white t-shirt is a basic essential item that should be in everyone’s closet. I try to buy a new one yearly because I am a klutz and I get them dirty. I don’t want to wear a dingy t-shirt, and they are very inexpensive, so I buy a couple at the beginning of every year.

The t-shirt that I am wearing today is from Target. It is by the brand, A New Day, and I am impressed at how nice this tee is, especially for the price. You can’t see through the shirt, I don’t have on a camisole, and you still can’t see my bra. Yes, I am wearing one. Lol!!! I am wearing a large, and it is plenty roomy for me. Here is the link to the v-neck t-shirt.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing black leggings and Chanel espadrillesI added a pair of Ponte knit leggings to my look because they are comfortable. But, I also added them because these are more like stretchy pants than yoga style leggings. Most of us have heard the saying, “leggings aren’t pants.” I get it, a lot of leggings are thin, see-through, and the last things you want to do is wear a short shirt that will allow your “who-ha” to shine through.

A thick pair of Ponte leggings aren’t going to allow anything to show; they are instead like a jegging. These are pants, and you can feel free to wear them without having to wear a tunic top. If you want to wear a tunic you can, you just don’t HAVE to. This pair of leggings is from Chico’s.  I have a couple of different styles Ponte knit leggings from Chico’s (here), and they are excellent heavy-weight material. I am wearing a size 1 in these. They fit great, but they are also almost all sold out. So, here are a few others that I think will work just as well for you.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a white t-shirt, a black cardigan, and black leggingsI needed to run to Walmart and take back some things, so I threw on this long black cardigan for warmth (it was in the 40s) and also to make sure that no one was looking at my hiney as I rode up the escalator. I didn’t want some poor unsuspecting soul to experience post-traumatic syndrome later in life, so I thought that adding the cardigan was the least that I could do.

The cardigan that I am wearing is an old one. I am not even sure where I got this, but a black cardigan is something that you can wear for years to come. Here are some that are on sale for a fraction of the cost.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a white tee, a black cardigan, black leggings, and a snow leopard scarfI added this lightweight snow leopard scarf when I got ready to head out the door. A scarf is a beautiful accessory to spruce up any outfit. But, during these days, they serve double duty as a mask also. You can quickly put this over your face, not to keep out the virus, but to keep you from touching your face. I know that it is a lifesaver for me when it comes to those plastic produce bags. I can’t get those things apart to save my soul, and I find myself licking my fingers to try and separate them. A mask/scarf will keep you from doing something stupid like that. Lol!

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a white t-shirt, a black cardigan, black leggings, and a black and white scarfI am still taking orders for the bulk order that I will be placing at the end of the month. You don’t have to be my customer, and there is no obligation with this order. You can order any product that you would like (just let me know what you want to try), but I am offering a couple of items at a discounted price.

I am using my Active Hydration Serum on my face, which helps immensely, and I am using the Active Hydration Body Replenish on my hands, which has been a lifesaver! If you are interested in either of these products, then I’ll let you have them at my Preferred Customer price. AHS retails for 112.00, but you can buy it for 85.00, and that includes shipping. The AHBR retails for 66.00, but you can buy that for 55.00 that includes shipping. If you want to purchase both of them, or if you want to buy either of these for a frontline worker, message me, and I’ll give you an additional discount. Here is my email, taniastephens12@gmail.com

  1. I love cardigans, especially long ones. My fav is a medium gray that is starting to pill. I hate it when an old favorite has to go. You are right. This outfit would take you anywhere. Especially around my rural/coastL town.

Wow, I learn so much from your blog and even more from the comment section! LOL! Using a wet wipe from the front of the store to open baggies in the veggie section is GENIUS! You are so funny and smiling and humorous, I always enjoy reading 50 is not old! And it isn’t my 13 yo daughter tells me “mom, you aren’t old, just upper middle aged!” Hee hee hee,…

    1. You never know what you will learn from this fashion blog. Lol!

  3. Simple and cute! Love the scarf look!

  4. Donna Ingalls says:

That scarf is a wonderful addition to your outfit.
Great note from your granddaughter. What a sweetheart! I miss seeing my grandkids so much.

  5. Hi Tania! I always love your blog!! Please tell Emersyn, I really enjoyed her post and am now looking forward towards more of her posts!!! She made me laugh! She’s a cutie!!! As for the yoga pants, I am guilty of wearing them every day since the quarantine has started (March 19 in Orlando) No make up either. No one can see your face w a mask covering it, so what’s the point? But today I got sick of looking like a drab housewife so I put some makeup on and got out of my yoga pants. I am shocked I never noticed how heavy my foundation feels until now!! Well, as heavy and uncomfortable as I feel (face and body ?) I feel I look better!! Haha! All dressed up with no place to go! Keep your blogs coming!

    1. Becky, I am so glad that you made yourself get dressed up today. It does make a huge difference in your attitude. What you said about the foundation is exactly how I felt once I started using Radiant Defense. I’ll email you and send you a sample. It is so lightweight that you won’t even know that you are wearing it.

  6. When I go to the grocery store, I take a sanitizing wipe from the dispenser by the entrance door, fold it in quarters, and put it in my cart along side my purse. Folding the wipe in quarters keeps it from drying out so quickly. When I get to the produce section where I need those plastic bags, I give that wipe a little pinch, my fingertips are moistened, and I can easily separate those pesky plastic bags. The wipe stays moist for the remainder of my shopping, even allowing me to use it on the dairy and frozen food case door handles.

    1. JoAnn, you are soooo smart!!!

  7. I just started following you. I have saved alot of your outfits to my pinterest.(I’m very casual so I only wear jeans.) I have so many casual shoes, I know shoes can make or break any outfits. Could you show us how? For example one casual outfit and different pairs of shoes? You have your converse and I have my vans. GOD BLESS. Kathy

I was desperately looking for a white T-shirt last night to wear w my Texas scarf & jeans when we finally got to go to our sons for dinner! Didn’t have one! So I gotta go buy a couple! Nice was to spruce up an outfit!

    1. I have several white t-shirts. Some are v-necks, some are round necks, and some are crew necks. You can never have too many white tees.

  9. Kudos to Emersyn – What a kind heart she has! What a great idea to have her blog with you!

    1. Donna, she was so thrilled to be a part of the blog.

  10. Ginger Jackson says:

So look forward to your post in my email each day. My emails are many every day, but mostly retail and news posts. Your post is the bright spot each day, especially when there is no social life! Love your outfit today, great to wear for errands and at home.

Hi Emersyn! Loved your post, so nice of you. My granddaughter is grown and married, so it’s nice to hear from you!

    1. Thank you so much, Ginger!!! I get tons of emails every day too, most of them are from stores also.

  11. Sue Epling says:

I did a double take this morning when I thought you were wearing black socks under gray sandals!!!! I guess I shouldn’t view your photos on my little phone screen. So thank you for making me smile, even if it wasn’t intended ☺

    1. Sue, that made me laugh so hard. LOL!!!!

  12. Sharon Scott says:

I’m so jealous that you are allowed to have your granddaughter at your house. That isnt allowed here. We can only be with the people we live with all the time. I havent been with my grandchildren since March 5. I’m going nuts without them.

    1. She lives right next door to me, and my son works for me, so we see each other all of the time. I do feel very lucky to be able to see them.

  13. Granddaughters are the best! How do you use the scarf as a mask? Inquiring minds would like to know!

    1. I wear the scarf normally, but when I get ready to go in a store, you just tie it tightly against your face. This is to keep you from touching your face while you are inside the store.

  14. Hi Tania , I emailed you about R & F questions and makeup. I never heard back from you. Did you get my emails? Thx

    1. I sent you an email. Hopefully, it won’t go to your SPAM folder. Be looking for it.

  15. Tania I was lucky enough to have that mister come on in the produce section so that I could get the bag open! the one time I wanted that thing. you look great and the scarf is an excellent idea. I heard “you cant see through this white shirt” and I went directly there and ordered a couple. I have 2 that you can see my bra even if I wear nude. so annoying. Give a big hello to Emersyn today, we are always thinking of her!

    1. Mary, I have used that mister too when I’ve been out shopping. It really does help out a lot for opening up the produce bags.

  16. Monica Ercanbrack says:

Black long cardigans the best I have several different lengths and thicknesses and love the scarf idea as something to cover your face. Can you just imagine what it will be when they let us out again it will be crazy I am not quite ready for it. I wish there was away to do it slowly. I guess we will all have to make our own decisions about that but I also realize we need to open places back up. Glad Emerson liked everyone comments sounds she my follow in your footsteps.

    1. Monica, I love long cardigans. The one I have on today is what I call a medium-long cardigan. I have a longer one that I wore the other day, I may put it on the blog soon.

    1. You must have a fancy Walmart! An escalator? Wow.?

I am so guilty of the same thing with those darn produce bags!??

      Stay well.

      1. Yes, it is fancy. Lol! It does have 2 escalators, but only because the store is built on top of 2 parking garages.

    2. I love wearing scarves. I’ll be adding more colorful ones now that spring and summer are here.

  17. An escalator in Walmart??!! I don’t think I read anything past that that. Haha I love ponte leggings or pants—dressed up yoga pants.

    1. Yes, Bonnie, our Walmart has 2 escalators. Where I live, there is a shortage of land, so Walmart has 2 parking garages, and then the store is located on the 3rd floor. We even have a cart escalator that it rides down to get it to the level you parked on.
