CAN YOU WEAR WHITE AFTER LABOR DAY
I hope everyone is feeling smurphy today. I am feeling all chipper, even though it has rained for a couple of days. That is a “good thing” for me, because we decided that our yard needed to be re-done. We had a turf expert (yes, there really is such a thing) come to the house to look at what we called a yard. He pronounced that we didn’t have ANYTHING worth saving. Lol!
It looks like fall came early to our house. They sprayed both yards, (ours and Joseph’s) with Roundup, and killed everything in the entire yard. It is as brown as it could possibly be. Joe had to go mow the dead grass, (it looked like a dust bowl while he was mowing) so that when they planted the grass seed, it would be able to get to the soil. The expert came out, and aerated the lawn, and then sewed the grass seeds. Guess what happened when he aerated the lawn? He cut the TV cable in two, but of course we didn’t know that till Sunday when Joe went to watch football games. He was not a happy camper. Hahaha
When it rains all day, plus you have no TV, it makes for a really long and boring day. I love this scarf! I have no idea what the brand is, because I always tear out the tags to keep them from showing when I wear them. You would think that brands would have a small symbol in the fabric, instead of those annoying tags. I like the colors of this scarf. I think it goes well for summer as well as fall. The oranges and the deep greens look fallish, while the white and turquoise goes great in the summer. I am trying something a little different. Instead on saying similar, etc., I am showing you several different pictures. You can click on any of the pictures, and it will take you to the website. At least that is what it is supposed to do. Lol!
I have on a chartreuse green Anne Klein top that I have had for years. I like this top, it is an odd color, and not one that you see everyday. I almost always pair this color with navy, I think it pops against the dark blue. The little fan material detail at the neck, is perfect. Always try to look for details for your tops, such as embroidery, stones, pleats, buttons, etc.
I have on a very lightweight open-knit cocoon cardigan from Old Navy. It comes in three colors, the navy, a touch of pink, and taupe. This is perfect for the transition weather, it is airy, but still has a little coverage. I like the length of the cardigan, and the fact that it has no buttons.
For my second look, I put on a Plunder necklace called Felice. I picked this fun necklace because of all the different colors. It just looks like a kaleidoscope full of fun. This necklace would match almost anything you could find.
I have on two silver bracelets. The Organic Link toggle bracelet is from Chloe & Isabel. I like the odd shaped links, they are not uniform. The other bracelet matches the necklace, and it is called Faye. This bracelet reminds me of Carmen Miranda. Lol!!!
I did a post last year, about wearing white after Labor Day. Oh my goodness, I sure have grown as a blogger since that post. It is very short, the pictures are very tiny, and there are no links to the clothing. I had only been a blogger for 4 days, so I guess I should not be so critical. I no longer even think about wearing white after Labor Day, but I know some of you might not be as comfortable. Some fashion rules are harder to breaker than others. For me, I have a harder time with pattern mixing, it just does not come natural for me. My white jeans were purchased a couple of years ago at Versona. I think this is the sister store to Cato. I have been told that they are both owned by the same company, but I don’t know that to be a fact.
From this view, you can see just how thin the cardigan is. You can also see that I might have needed to fix my hair in the back. I am terrible about looking in the mirror at the back of my hair. I only see it from the front, and I assume that is the view everyone else has too. I said I was “practically” perfect, not perfect. LOL!!!
I am carrying my patent leather turquoise Dooney & Bourke satchel. This purse has been perfect for the summer. It is almost time for me to put it on the shelf till next year. Here is the same purse, but in pink, and here is the same turquoise color, but a different style purse.
The navy loafers are by Louise et Cie, and I bought them at the outlet in town. The fringe details, along with the gold accent, makes these loafers look really updated.
That’s all for today’s look. I am off to go “shoo” some Pigeons out of the yard, they are trying to eat all the grass seed. I will buy me a couple of scarecrows this afternoon, and put out in the yard. I sure am glad it is time for Halloween, we all ready look crazy with the brown yard. Lol!
As if I didn’t have enough going on with work, the blog, family, being a stylist for Plunder, and a consultant for Rodan and Fields, I got tagged last night by one of the big wigs from Plunder to do a challenge. I noramlly stay away from all challenges, (remember the ice bucket challenge) but I can’t say no to this one. I have been challenged to sell 10 pair of earrings in a day. That doesn’t sound horrible, until you know the twist. It is 10 pair a day for 10 days. Holy Moly Bat Man!!! Each day is a different earring, and they range in price from $8.00 to $14.00. I’m glad I didn’t get tagged for necklaces. Lol! Today’s earring is the Mason, but I heard they were out of stock, so we will go to that one last. Let’s start wth the Denise, (my middle name) for $10.00. To place an order under me, go to www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and be sure to let me know that you ordered. I can’t wait till they get the new software installed, and hopefully it won’t be as hard to pick your stylist.
Let me know what you think about the new way of showing links. I just hope they actually work.

Love the outfit, especially the scarf and necklace!
Thank goodness…I just wore white pants last night!
This might be my very favorite outfit…..I LOVE the color combination and I love the scarf! Such great colors in the scarf that you could wear it with a multitude of things! I like the color in the top, although before I’ve shied away from that color because I always felt it was difficult to match it to something. I never thought about pairing it with navy…… Thanks for sharing! I love it that you give two different looks, too.
Great fall outfit. It reminded me to pull out some scarves later in the month. It’s still 80’s here but the crisp air is coming.
The new links with photos are a wonderful idea. Much appreciated by those of us who read you in the morning and not quite awake! Have a great day.
The new links are so easy….thank you! I can see it’s time to dig out my scarves and start coordinating my outfits for fall/winter. Thanks for the reminder. Love both looks!
I am new to your blog and I love love love it. I am going away for a weekend with my husband next week for our 24th anniversary and I am taking notes on many of your styles to do a little shopping before I go. We haven’t had a weekend to ourselves in several years. I love Cato and I think I can find some of these styles there in time for my trip. Thank you for being you.
Those colors are beautiful! I looked at my first posts a few weeks ago! Oh my, shame shame shame! Haha, we all learn dont we!
Gorgeous coloured scarf and top, a super outfit all round. I clicked on the scarf and it took me to Macys so it seems to be working ??. As for white after Labor Day, I guess it’s fine as long as you don’t go round jumping in muddy puddles!
Super cute post again Tania – I love the way you now show your links – cute to have the little pictures – I am also in the process of trying to show my links nicer…
Love the topic of white – have been thinking about what to wear to Milan Fashion week and as it’s still warmish there I may wear a little white and grey…https://www.instagram.com/funkyforty/
…but here in Zurch white is passed as fall has hit us with vengeance…
xx Yvonne
The outfit is fabulous and an awesome color combo for the summer/fall transitional. The scarf is pretty but I like look with the necklace better.
