WHERE DO YOU PLACE YOUR BELIEF
How does your belief influence your life? Have you ever given this any thought? I can’t remember where, but I heard this saying, and it has stayed with me. “The hardest thing about a scientific experiment is to separate the belief from the scientist about the outcome of the experiment.” What they were saying is that the actions of the scientists would affect the outcome of the experiment based on what they believed.
The definition of belief is “trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something.” The definition of trust is – “assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something.” The definition of faith is – “firm belief in something for which there is no proof.” And the last definition would be about confidence; “the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust.” Did you notice how they are all intertwined? In other words, you can’t have one without the other.
Your belief in yourself can shape your life. There are people who just “know” that they are capable of great things. They believe with all their heart that good things will happen in their lives. They don’t see obstacles in their paths as detriments; they view them as a chance to learn and grow. On the other hand, there are people who have been beaten down in life to the point that they only expect more of the same. These people don’t even try to do better because what is the use? They think the outcome will be the same and never change.
Both of these people are correct in their beliefs. In fact, their belief will guide their daily actions to make the prophecy come true. Just like the scientist, they create actions that back up their beliefs and, therefore, they will never be disappointed.
Those who believe in God have faith. They believe that God is real and that He is there for them. The believer will pray and talk to the Lord daily. They believe that the Lord hears their prayers and will answer them. They study His words and obey His commandments. They see the hand of God in the beauty of the world around them, and they can feel His presence.
Mark 11:22-24
22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Those who do not believe in the Lord will point out that they can’t see the Lord. They have never had a face-to-face conversation with the Lord. Anything that they can’t explain is chalked up to coincidence. All of the wonders and beauty of the world are science, not the Lord.
Can you see how their beliefs, trust, faith, and confidence all affect their lives? You have the power to change your life. The choice is yours. You can choose what and in whom you place your belief. Ask, Seek, Knock and it can be yours.
Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
One of the greatest gifts the Lord gave us is the ability to choose. There have been times when I wished the Lord would make the choice for me and not give me the option. My flesh can get in the way, and I end up making a choice that isn’t good for my body or soul. But the Lord didn’t make robots, and He wants those who come to Him to do so of their own free will.
Every day we have many choices to make. We will occasionally make the wrong choice; that’s just life. However, when it comes to the Lord, this is a choice you can’t afford to get wrong; it is a life-and-death decision.
To God Goes The Glory!
Have A Blessed Day!
Perfectly said….Amen!

Thank you, Tania….another inspirational mini sermon. I don’t know how anyone can exist without the guidance of the Lord in their lives. He is my rock and my salvation.
Tania this was a good one and often so true. We have to remember to keep our faith strong. It’s so easy to go down a road of despair.
I do enjoy reading your Sunday posts What I like most is that they reflect what some of us are going through and can relate. Especially me. Thank you.

Thank you for your message.
I’m glad you enjoyed today’s post.
Thank you for this message. As a result of a failed marriage I have fallen into negative thinking about my inadequacies, as my former husband would often make cutting remarks about me and my physical person. But through the Holy Spirit I can change my thinking and shape it into more positive beliefs about myself.
This is a wonderful post! thank you Tania.
Carol, I’m sorry your ex-husband lashed out at you in such a negative way. But, he is not the one who made you, loves you, and in whom you have your trust.
It’s so important to use whatever platform God has blessed us with to deliver the gift of everlasting life! Thank you for sharing your faith! Whoever believes in Jesus shall be saved! John 3:16
So true. Thank you!
A strong and timely message. Thank you for sharing.
A beautiful message for today.
Thanks for this message and bible verses, Tania. So important to keep the faith, though at times it can feel difficult. Another passage I like is Jeremiah 29:11.
