What You See
What we show the world is not always what, or who, we really are. Case in point, Twitter. How many of us have a Twitter account? What do you choose to share to your Twitter followers? If you are like me, and probably most of the tweeters out there, you show only the best photo, the best articles, the funniest most wittiest thought you ever had. Here is my photo I decided to share on todays Twitter feed:
Decent photo of me in my outfit from Old Navy. I purchased the boyfriend sweater last year and the pants and inner sweater this year. Here is my close up:
Nice smile, looking at the camera, hand on hip, check, check, and check. Okay to share. Show casing my vintage jewelry, I am wearing a bakelite necklace along with a fossilized amber necklace and a Philadelphia style bakelite bracelet. Cool, huh? After the shots are taken, I put the camera on a tripod and set the timer, I then go to check out the photos. Did I crop off my feet or head, or is it in focus? To do that, here is what is usually not posted:
My “readers” (you might have noticed I changed my boyfriend sweater to a vest, and my Old Navy sweater to a Cato’s sweater). This is what I look like probably 90% of the time. I am usually peering over the top of my, extremely cute, readers. Since the name of my blog, twitter, and instagram accounts are, 50isnotold, somehow I thought showing myself in reading glasses my make others think otherwise. But as Popeye said, “I yam what I yam”. Here’s looking at you kid, (over the top of my readers).
Your are lovely and so encouraging, just because we’re in our fiftys doesn’t mean we’re not interested in fashion and looking good.keep up the good work.
