Have you seen the commercial where the lady is dressed in a HUGE white puffer coat? She thinks she looks cool and stylish, but her reflection tells her she looks like a big marshmallow. Lol! That commercial is about going on a ski trip, and that is how I feel about today’s outfit. Not that I look like a marshmallow, but that I “look” like I’m going on a ski trip. Here is what I would wear to wear on a ski trip if you’re not skiing.

What To Wear On A Ski Trip If You’re Not Skiing

I’ve never been snow skiing, and I don’t intend to try the sport now. It looks like lots of fun, but I don’t like the cold, and I don’t want to hurt myself trying to learn. I’ve actually thought about going to a ski lodge, but only to enjoy the scenery, the hot chocolate, and sitting around a large stone fireplace with a roaring fire.

Since I’m not going to be out on the slopes, I wouldn’t have to worry about a ski outfit that is waterproof or resistant. Instead, I’m only interested in an outfit that is cute, warm and cozy, and looks like I’m on a skiing trip. Lol!

The Crop Puffer Jacket is adorable! I have seen my DIL wearing cropped puffer vests and jackets, but I didn’t think I would like them. However, I was wrong, and I’m glad I decided to give them a try. This jacket is super warm, fully lined, quilted, and insulated. Plus, the description says that it is water resistant.

I think this jacket would look great with a pair of jeans and ankle boots.

If I’m sitting in front of a roaring fire, I probably wouldn’t be wearing my puffer coat. So, I want a super cute outfit that screams “ski trip.” Those of you who actually ski might be laughing, saying this outfit looks like someone who has NEVER been on the slopes.

Either way, I think the Apres Ski Turtleneck Sweater is gorgeous and one that looks great even if you aren’t planning a ski trip any time soon. The red, cream, and camel stripes are eye-catching and really pop against the black background. I’m wearing a medium, and the sweater is plenty large enough. You could always size it up if you want it to be more oversized.

Here is the length of the sweater. It hits me at my hips, which might be a little short for wearing with leggings, but would look great with a pair of jeans.

I don’t normally wear a beanie or hat, but I know I would need one on a ski trip. This Satin Lined Knit Beanie is one that I got during Amazon Days, and I love the satin lining. Normally, a knit beanie would make all kinds of static electricity, and my hair would be standing on end. Check out the photo below to see how my hair looked when I took the beanie off.

If I was actually skiing, I might leave off my jewelry. But, since I would only be sitting in front of the fire, I added a pair of Chunky Gold Hoop Earrings. The large, chunky earrings from the 80s are trending right now, and these are an affordable option.

I love my Fleece Lined Leggings, and I wear them all winter long. These are made from a water-resistant fabric that can handle light rain for a short time or keep dry on snowy days and provide wind protection. I can’t say for sure about all of that since it never rains or snows while I’m sitting inside my house. Lol! But I can say that they keep me warm and toasty, and I happened to be wearing a burgundy pair while I was typing this post. I’m wearing a large because I don’t like compression or tight leggings. If you like your leggings to fit tighter, then order your normal size.

Good morning, funny, that is what I wear to walk the dog every day in the winter. My puffy black jacket is from Marmot. In Northern California (45 minutes from SF), I don’t need the lined leggings though. Next month, my whole entire family (My siblings & their grandkids) plus all the 7 of my grandkids are going to a Dude Ranch in Mendocino County for the long weekend, as a gift from my parents. (My parents are in their mid eighties with a lot of energy) No snow, but it will be brrr, cold. I might have to invest in the lined version.

    1. How fun!!! It will be great to have the whole family there.

  21. Your sitting by the fire “ski outfit” is so cute looks great!

  29. Hi Tania,
I just want to make sure. The picture shows you wearing the pants in a large not an XL correct? I weigh 140 and was thinking about the medium based on the sizing and comments. Maybe a larger would fit better?

  30. You do look warm and toasty. Thanks for the suggestions. I think I need a few items.

  31. Janna Dwyer says:
