When I walked outside Friday morning, I mentioned to Joe that it was crisp looking. It had the kind of look that is associated with the fall of the year. How can that be since it has been so hot for the past couple of weeks? It made me start thinking about how fast summer is flying by, and how quickly fall is approaching.
Joe mentioned that fall is probably his favorite time of the year. The weather is not too hot, and not too rainy like it is in the spring. The fall foliage is beautiful, and it is time for all of the kiddos to head back to school. I look forward to Halloween, it is one of my favorite times of the year and seeing all of the pictures of the kids dressed up in their costumes. It is also when my grandkids in Tennessee celebrate their birthdays with a big Halloween themed birthday party, complete with a bonfire, smores, and a hayride. The only thing that I don’t look forward to in the fall is all of the leaves falling. The mountains look bare when the leaves fall, and this area of the country starts to look sad. But, for now, I am just going to enjoy today.
Because the crisp weather makes me think about fall, I decided to style a transition look. This sleeveless sweater in this deep gold color is perfect for fall. I think that the top is the color that the leaves will be turning once fall arrives. I love the deep v-neck of the top, and I also like the cross-over of the hemline. The hemline is very flattering as it seems to hug your hips. I bought this top at the Loft Outlet, and here is the link.
The Rosalynn necklace will be perfect for the upcoming fall season. The leopard print design with burgundy beads on an antique chain screams fall! The pattern will vary on each necklace. It is adjustable from 36.5″ – 39.5″. There are matching earrings called Charleen, but I decided to wear the Bennett instead. The Bennett has a mustard twine ball with tassel & feather and a 4″ drop. I am wearing a stack of bracelets. They are from the gold link downward, Lelani, one from the Stacia set, and one from the Randee set.
I got ready Friday morning, took my pictures, and then went to the lumber company to work for several hours. When I went to the post office, I had a little surprise in the mail from one of my wonderful readers. Selma had emailed me that she was going to make me a handmade crocheted bag, but I never envisioned it in my mind like this. I think that I was thinking more like macrame cord, instead of yarn. I loved it, and it just matched what I was wearing. So, when I got back to the house, I took a few more photos of my outfit to show you how cute the bag looks. Thanks so much, Selma, it is beautiful!!!
I wanted to start getting used to the idea of wearing ankle boots again, so this is my transition to that look. These are a pair of Clarks that were courtesy of QVC. The style is Valarie James; they have a perforated upper, a peep toe, and an ankle hook-and-loop closure. They are leather and have added an insole and a textured outsole. The best part…they are on a Black Friday special price. Click on the picture below to go to the website.

Oh my goodness, what a great bag!! You sure did get blessed because now we all want one, lol.
I knew that all of you would want to see the bag. It is super cute!
I love that purse! Does Selma take orders???
I’m not sure if she sells them, Amy? I bet they take a long time to make.
Love this outfit! I’m moving to Florida and was wondering how I could look “fall” when it will still be so hot outside. This type of outfit would work perfectly. The bag is great too!
Yes, Beth, this would be great for areas that are hot, like Florida.
Love this outfit! When you first pictured that vest a couple years ago I actually ran right out to get it and drove to a store about 30 min away to get it because the store in my town was out of them! LOL! And I still love that vest! This morning it was those shoes ….had me at hello and got them ordered. Thinking fall ! The purse is a precious gift!
Oh, Deborah, I hate that you drove for 30 minutes and they didn’t have want you wanted. Call the store next time, or just order online, that is way easier. Lol!
Thanks ..was unclear the local store called them, they did have it and I did get it!
Still loving it!

Hi Tania! What size are you wearing in the sweater tank? I can’t wear that color of yellow, but I’d love to get the black one. What a great transitional piece to wear now and later!
Miriam, mine is a large, but if I was ordering again, I would get a medium.
cute outfit! I hope Selma will take orders for a cute purse like that, even if we have to wait awhile
Love the look, love the purse, and my grandma that I loved very much was named Selma ! Memories !!
