Many of you have told me that you also have a casual lifestyle. I haven’t retired, and I work more than ever. However, my circumstances have changed, and I no longer work outside the home. I still want to look nice every day, even if I’m not leaving the house. That can be a struggle since my pajamas and snuggly robe beckon to me. I’ve decided to challenge myself to not just wear leggings and sweats, and I’m challenging you, too!

What I Wore To The Dermatologist

Last week, I went to the dermatologist for my yearly checkup. Everything was fine, except I had a couple of spots I wanted them to look at. Fortunately, they were a type of keratosis that is hereditary and nothing to worry about. One of them was on my face, so I went back on Monday and had them burn it off.

It was still cold outside, so I needed to add a sweater to my outfit. Doctor’s offices can be freezing, so I always try to wear one when I have an appointment. The Relaxed Fit V-Neck Cropped Cardigan is one I bought last year, and I love the weight of it. It keeps me warm but isn’t so heavy that you feel like you’re wearing a rug.

What I wore this week to the dermatologist - floral blue & white blouse with a large suede handbag

This Italian Suede Shopper Tote just came in a few days ago, but I immediately put it to work. Suede handbags have been my latest obsession, and I love the whisky color of this one. It is a good size tote that can hold everything I need, including my laptop. That is perfect for me since I sometimes work while I’m waiting.

What I wore this week to the dermatologist - floral blue & white blouse with a navy cardigan and silver earrings

A lady commented the other day that I never seem to wear silver, and she was right. I have several silver pieces of jewelry, so I decided to start wearing them more often. These DY Cable Hoop Earrings are large, but thin. They are very lightweight and don’t weigh your earlobes down. I think the silver looks great with the navy cardigan.

The Floral Georgette Ruffle-neck Blouse is another new purchase. I ordered a lot of clothing to do a Chico’s try-on haul, and this was one of the pieces. I love this blouse and ripped off the tag as soon as I tried it on. I don’t always keep the clothing I order; my house wouldn’t hold them all. There was something about this blouse that I loved, so it made the cut!

J.Jill jeans fit me perfectly, so I wear them a lot. The Dark Wash Slim-Leg Jeans are a classic style that is never the latest trend, but it is always in style. I added the neutral-colored Essa Slip-On loafers, which are as comfortable as they are stylish. This sleek loafer look is trending and moving away from the lug, chunky loafers we’ve seen in the past few years.

What I Wore Around The House

Tuesday was a lazy day. I didn’t have any appointments and wasn’t taking any photos. I wanted to work in comfort, so I dressed for comfort.

What I wore this week - black joggers and a leopard print cardigan

Even though my children think we keep our thermometer set to “hot as blue blazes,” I always need a warm cardigan. Working on my computer means I sit for hours, and the blood doesn’t get pumping. Thankfully, Lucy Lu likes to sit with me under a blanket, so she warms my legs. I added this Leopard Print Long Sleeve Sweater Cardigan to my Black V-Neck Tee, and I was comfy, warm, and stylish.

What I wore this week - a black tee and a leopard print cardigan with a pendant necklace

I am so disappointed that the Malachite and Tiger Eye Pendant Necklace is sold out. I bought this from Tuckernuck when I placed my last order with them. It was on final sale, so I figured there wasn’t a lot of inventory. I’ve worn the necklace almost every day since I got it. I’ve always loved a Maltese Cross design, and the Tiger Eye and Malachite stones were too pretty to pass up.

What I wore this week - Vuori black joggers, a black tee, and a leopard print cardigan

I’ve had these Vuori Performance Joggers for a couple of years. I find myself reaching for them even more than I do my leggings. I think joggers are a little easier to wear for most people since they don’t hug your body tightly. You don’t even have to worry about covering your booty in joggers, although the cardigan covers it nicely.

What I wore this week - black joggers, a black tee, and a leopard print cardigan with Ryka sneakers

I bought these Ryka Echo Sky Sneakers in the summer, and I’m still loving them. The no-tie laces are fabulous since I don’t have to contort my body to tie my shoes. Lol! They are breathable, a great neutral color, and very, very comfortable.

Elevated Casual Stay At Home Outfit

Wednesday called for a ZOOM call meeting. I don’t have to dress up for these meetings since I have them weekly, but I enjoy putting on makeup and wearing something that looks presentable. Don’t get me wrong, I have mixed up the time zones before and showed up in my robe and PJs. Lol!

What I wore this week - a striped button up, and a black leather crossbody

I have a commercial steamer, but I still like it when I can find no-iron clothing. I bought the Wrinkle-Resistant Women’s Button-Down Shirt when I was going to the Falcons – Chiefs football game in Atlanta, and I loved it so much that I bought the navy and white version, too.

What I wore this week - showing the back of a striped button up,

As you can see, the shirt is long enough to wear with leggings, but I wore the Endless High Rise Pants from Athleta instead. These are my favorite pants for when you need to look “dressy” but want comfort. They are the perfect travel pants because they don’t wrinkle, and you arrive looking put together.

What I wore this week - black Endless pants, a tucked in striped button up, and a black leather crossbody

For those who like a polished look, you can tuck in the shirt. Wearing your shirt untucked is modern-looking, but for work and professional settings, you might need to tuck in the shirt instead.

What I wore this week - a striped button up, and a black leather crossbody

If you haven’t tried Quince, here is your sign! This Italian Leather Handwoven Crossbody is the perfect size for running errands, traveling, and shopping. It holds everything you need and is a nice quality leather bag. I recently did a Quince review if you would like to check out more of their items.

What I wore this week - a striped button up, and a black leather loafers

As I mentioned above, slim, sleek loafers are what are trending this year. While I’ve never been a fan of loafers, I love the slim styles. 2025 is all about challenging myself to get outside my comfort zone. I have never liked wearing black shoes because I wear a size 9, and I think they make my feet look big. So, I wore the Platform Penny Loafer from Cole Haan, and no one commented on my big feet. Lol!

Comfy As A Sweatshirt But Elevated

What I wore this week - a white dolman long sleeve sweater and wide leg jeans
Boat Neck Dolman Sleeves Sweater (One Size) | High-Waist Barely Boot Jeans (Size 8) | Essa Slip-On (TTS) | Italian Leather Crescent Bag | Large Hoop EarringsLarge Cross 14k White Gold Pendant Necklace | Malachite Pendant Necklace – Sold Out

I will admit that I love an oversized sweatshirt, especially one that is old and thin. The thinner and softer they are, the better I like them. Old sweatshirts don’t usually look too fashionable, so I found the solution to the problem.

What I wore this week - a white dolman long sleeve sweater

This Boat Neck Dolman Sleeves Sweater is the answer! It is so soft and comfortable, and it looks way nicer than an old sweatshirt. It is available in lots of colors, but pay attention to the fabric. Some are nubby, while this one is smooth. I’ve bought both styles, and I prefer the smooth version the best.

What I wore this week - a white dolman long sleeve sweater while reaching out her arms

As you can see, this top is very forgiving. The Dolman or “Batwing” sleeves are great for us ladies who carry weight in the tummy region. I’m wearing the High-Waist Barely Boot Jeans from Talbots. You see me wearing these all the time since they are the perfect width. Not too wide and not too slim…perfect.

Here is another Quince handbag. The Italian Leather Crescent Bag is a nice shape and size, and the leather is fantastic. Quince products are at a much better price than similar products and I buy a lot from them. You also see me wearing these Essa Slip-On loafers a lot. Notice the slim, sleek style! I told you that I love this style, and these loafers are very comfortable. The color goes with everything, so that’s why you keep seeing me wear them.

What I Wore To The Nail Salon

My poor nails were in horrible shape. It kept snowing and snowing, so I kept putting my nail appointment off. When my nail technician saw my nails, he said, “Gurl! Your nails are sooo overdue.” That was an understatement!

What I wore this week to the nail salon - a green v-neck sweater, a navy blazer

I don’t usually dress up to go to the nail salon. It was still chilly, so I grabbed the 100% European Linen Structured Blazer as I went out the door. You can never go wrong with a navy blazer, and this one will be perfect for spring and summer, too.

What I wore this week to the nail salon - a green v-neck sweater

Several of you messaged me and wanted to know about the green Lightweight Long-Sleeve V-Neck Sweater that I used in my email last Friday. I have this sweater in several colors, and I thought this green sweater would be great for St. Patrick’s Day. I’m wearing a medium, but I think I need a large instead so I can wear a button-up shirt under it.

If you haven’t tried NYDJ jeans, I suggest you give them a try. I read that NYDJ stands for Not Your Daughters Jeans because they are made to fit a woman’s body, not a teenager’s. I find they run true to size, and they really do fit nicely.

I’ve used the  Pearl Nappa Leather Crossbody a ton! It has three compartments, making it super easy to separate my stuff. I usually add a wallet and phone in the middle section and then papers, lipsticks, aspirin, etc., in the side sections. It is great for traveling on planes since I can separate the passports from everything else. I always keep those in the pocket next to my body for safekeeping.

That’s what I wore this week! I hope you found something that speaks to you and works for your lifestyle and budget.

  16. Found it!
It took several trips through the outfits to find it.😊
Love the Dolman top…..would it work for 5’2”, size 6-8 person?

    1. Yes. The way the top is made, you decide how much to let it blouson.

  17. Found it, much harder today! Love the outfits you wore.

  18. Found It . . I use may phone and it took me three times with zooming in lol Love green and blue together

  19. I have recently purchased NYDJ Waist-Match jeans in the Marilyn straight leg style and love them. I wear an 8 in jeans and didn’t trust their sizing, so ordered in a M which was too big. Reordered in Small and they are perfect. The waist-match spans 2 sizes, the S is 6-8 and M 10-12. I am 5’6″, 150 lbs and pretty much a rectangle (with a bit of Apple thrown in!) so I am always on the lookout for jeans that have a stretchy waistband. These do, as well as Kut from the Kloth and Democracy ab-solution.

    1. You might also try Wit & Wisdom since they have a stretchy waist also.

  20. Found It! I’m really enjoying your “What I Wore Last Week” posts. There’s some great ideas for how to ‘take it up notch’ but still be easy & comfortable. Several of the outfits in this post are calling out to me!

  24. Found it! I was so engrossed at looking at all the great outfits that I almost forgot to look for it. I really like the first 2 outfits and the green vneck. You look so nice in all of the pictures and dress so nice even in a casual outfit. I really must up my game.

  25. Susan Dawson says:

Love the casual and elevated casual looks! I’m still working outside the home, but in a smaller office that doesn’t require your typical dressier office attire.
    Enjoy your posts!
    Btw – found it! 😃

  26. Found it! Ruffle blouse is pretty!!

  27. Ginger Hiller says:

I am so happy that I finally figured out why I had stopped receiving your emails and have it resolved! Like you, I am challenging myself to not dress sloppy every day. Yesterday I added a favorite sweatshirt to the donate pile, which wasn’t easy to do, because it was way too big on me now that I’ve lost some weight. And I have reached the point where I don’t like huge tops like I used too. Instead I wear a better casual top and joggers, and I have to admit that I feel better when I look in the mirror. But, I have to admit that your at home outfits are much nicer than mine, but our lifestyles are very different. The blue floral blouse is so pretty and looks great on you!

  28. Found it. Definitely more challenging, lol. 😊

  29. FOUND IT. This was a hard one. LOL

  30. I was about to tell you today you stumped me. But I finally FOUND IT. Also found Lucy Lu. 🙂 LOVE the floral blouse!!

    Found it!
Appreciate the way you display the purse you’re using. I like a small cross body purse that carries just the essentials and it’s hard to judge from some of the pictures hoe big it is. So thank you.

  51. I found it! It’s getting smaller LOL!

  52. Christina Kuehn says:

This is so much fun, Tania. FOUND IT!

  53. Good Morning, I accept your challenge regarding dressing up a little better than sweats or legging. I have to do some shopping first though, so I will try some of your suggestions. I do love your suggestions.

I also have a dog, a beagle, who wants her face covered and if you are sitting beside her she paws at you to cover her face.

    1. That is exactly hope Lucy does. She digs and digs until I cover her up.
