50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING TIE-DYE AFTER 50I am so glad that it is finally Friday! It is payday, so that helps, and for once I don’t think I have a bill waiting with its hand out. Lol! I love it when all the bills have been paid and this is just “free” money. I may have to go to the bank and put it in a savings account. If any of you believed that, you need to contact me because I have some swamp land for sale. Haha! 50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING TIE-DYE AFTER 50When Ashleigh and Joseph were young they were so different when it came to money. I tried to teach them, not very successfully, how to manage their money. So I would give them a set amount of money and take them shopping. Ashleigh would spend EVERY penny and even talk Joseph into letting her borrow some of his. Joseph wouldn’t buy a thing, he said he didn’t need it enough to part with his money. He already had one truck or a shirt or a pair of pants, and that was all he needed. They are now 27 and 29 and their money traits are still pretty much the same. My daughter will spend and sometimes overspend, and Joseph hardly ever buys anything. At least Ashleigh will work several jobs to earn her money even if they are jobs like scorekeeping and refereeing for ballgames. 50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING TIE-DYE AFTER 50I bought this tie-dyed top at a boutique in Coronado Beach while I was in California. The brand name is LOVESTITCH. I loved the slouchy comfortable style and as soon as I tried it on I knew it was coming home with me. I wore this for the flight back to Atlanta because of the comfort level. Did I tell you that I got patted down at the airport? I went through the metal detector, holding my hand’s above so that it could scan. The man told me to put my necklace around to the back and stand still. Then he said for me to go ahead and leave. I started to go pick up my purse and a lady told me to hold up. Then she made me hold my hands up while she patted me down. My sister was scrambling to grab her cell phone out and take a picture. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING TIE-DYE AFTER 50I am loving the Monna necklace. It is stamped “Blessed” and has a cross with a tiny rhinestone and a single turquoise bead. This is a shorter necklace which fits perfectly in the “V” opening at my top. I would have sworn that I saw these earrings in the new Spring catalog. I would have been wrong! I looked through the book two or three times and I can’t find it anywhere. Sorry, these were part of the Plunder Posse. The Posse is a monthly subscription service that is 25.00 (including shipping and taxes) and they send you between 1 -3 pieces of jewelry. The day of the month you sign up for is the day when your next month’s order would ship. There are no sign-up and no cancellation fees. They post the picture of the Posse on the first day of each month so you have time to go in and cancel the service if you don’t like that month’s items. You simply sign up again the next month you see something you want.50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING TIE-DYE AFTER 50The Brianna is the bangle bracelet on the right. It has a magnetic closure which has quickly become my favorite type of closure. I love being able to throw these type bracelets on and take them off with just one hand. Yes, I am too lazy to use two hands. Lol! The large bracelet on the left was the Eunice and we must have said goodbye to my old friend. I wore this one all the time! The two small bangles, Liza and Monica are the only boho bangles that didn’t retire. 50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING TIE-DYE AFTER 50I told you my sister tried to walk me to death in San Diego and my hips have paid the price. Have you noticed that I have had on flats almost every day this week? The walking on concrete has made me Bursitis flair up and I know the only cure, FLATS! For all you gurls who never wear high heels, this week is for you. Lol! This pair of ballet flats is by Isaac Mizrahi. The are alright but if I was going to do a lot of walking I would want to have a little more cushioning.

50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING TIE-DYE AFTER 50I am carrying my Emma Fox black purse. I am an Emma Fox fan!!! I will warn you though that these are heavy purses. Even with nothing in them, they weight quite a bit. I used to buy my Emma Fox purses at TJ Maxx but I haven’t seen one there lately.

50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING TIE-DYE AFTER 50It is time for another giveaway. I have lost time of how long I have been doing the blog, so that means it has been a while. Lol! I started on 09-06-15 and I try to do a small giveaway around this time of every month. Tana I look forward to reading your blog each day. I love your funny stories, your great fashion ideas and your faith in God. Right now I am at the emergency vet at 11 pm with my small maltese dog who got into some chocolate Easter candy while we were away. Unfortunately my husband didn’t put him in his kennel so Brady found the candy. We are saying prayers that he will be ok. I am reading some of your previous posts right now to pass the time while we are waiting. Thanks so much for your enjoyable blog!

To put it simply why I read everyday is you are so relatable. Some of the blogs I started with are all about name expensive name brands (ok sometimes for splurges) and truthfully unattainable on most peoples budget. Your stories are similar to mine. And most of all you are who you are. You don’t pretend to be anyone else. I love the way you inspire me and give me an entertaining start to my days! You have a gift of making us feel as one of your dear friends. Thank you for sharing your life stories and dressing ideas.

  36. I love your blog and I love those jeans! Where did you find them? The entire outfit is great. Thanks for the inspiration.

  37. Denise Wiard says:

Your styles are for us over 50. You aren’t styling clothes for 20-30 year olds. And your clothes are very stylish.

  38. You are real with your posts. Nothing too fancy or designer. That is why I am such a fan.

  39. Patricia Franklin says:

Love your blog. Have you heard of Tieks by Gavrieli? They are extremely comfortable; pricey to worth the money.

  40. Sue S (MN) says:

I am still in the work force and find your ideas on fashion very helpful to keep up with the times and have a youthful but age appropriate look. Thanks for your wonderful take on 50 is not old. Cheryl Hovaldt.

  42. I love your blog because you are really down to earth and shop at affordable places compared to the other fashion bloggers. Keep up the good work!

  43. Kimberly Clark says:

I just turned 54 on April 1, and just recently found your blog/pictures on Pinterest. The pictures are exactly what I’ve been wanting to find. I do not want to wear clothes that are too young, and your blog and ideas are great for my taste. Your blog addresses alot of things that I often think about (i.e. the one on comparison was right on point). Thank you for taking the time to do what you do.

  44. I have never commented before, and this is NOT just because of the giveaway! I truly do want everyone to know that there are some silent fans out there, who very quietly wait for your posts every day, and LOL at your LOL’s! I love that you make fun of yourself, something I do, too, and are just like us! I get the feeling that if we ever met we would be friends.

  45. I love that you prove, every single day, that age is just a number and it isn’t an excuse to be frumpy!

  46. Love your blog!! It’s my favorite fashion blog because you are so down to earth and able to relate to us “normal” folks. LOL. Plus you have awesome “style” and beautiful “eyes” and kick butt “hair”.

  47. HI Tania.
I found your site recently and love your outfits and your sense of humor. 50 is not old and 64 isn’t either! Age is only a number! Love the jewelry too.

  48. Elizabeth Smith says:

    Love the tie dye!

  49. I love that you are over 50 and still rocking it! As a fellow over 50 member I appreciate your fun attitude to fashion!

  50. I just recently found your blog and I am still trying to go through all of the old posts! I don’t think I have yet found an outfit that I wouldn’t wear! I like that most of your outfits are somewhat casual and laid back. You know, the kind of clothes that real women wear. But you make them special with the accessories. I like that you will show the same jewelry or bags or shoes with different outfits. It really shows the versatility of the Plunder pieces!

  51. Jill Fl... says:

i like to get ideas from the different way that you pair separates. Your dresses are nice and in fact, I may buy that royal blue CHadwicks one for my daughter’s wedding, but I don’t wear dresses often and I like to see how you pair things, esp. for work. I also love your style, it’s stylish without being too young or old. Keep it up, I read your blog every day, usually first thing.

  52. I enjoy reading 50isnotold because it has made me look at my wardrobe. I was always a black, white, grey person in my clothes choices. Your use of color has inspired me to move on and try new looks. I find myself looking in my closet trying to find new ways to pair my clothes. I love purses and sooo love all yours. Thanks for your inspiration!

  53. I’m not usually a fan of tie-dye, but I really like your top in blue. Thanks for sharing it.

    debbiethisandthat.com

  54. Blue IS your color! Anything blue looks great on you! I bet you could wear a burlap sack died blue and you would look good. I love those shoes with that outfit, too.

  55. Gayle Davis says:

Tania, I so enjoy your blog because you give us ladies who are on clothes budgets a lot of choices. Some of the blogs I follow share some of the more expensive clothes that I can only try to copy and they are hard to find! Your sense of humor always gives me a chuckle, also! Keep up the good work!!

  56. Charlcy Green says:

Tye Dye – like everything else looks great on you! And I have some of it too! For me, this is one of the bright spots in my day! I love hearing about your life, your family, your worries & your joys! And your fashion sense has given me wings, Tania! I love ya!

  57. Love your blog. I think it helps at our age, ha, to get ideas that are sometimes outside of our comfort zone.

  58. Cristina Downey says:

  62. Wonderful ideas! I just found you and feel like I just found my own personal fashion consultant. I am a professional executive, and work wear wasn’t an issue, but it all went downhill after I got home. I promise not to wear sweats out any more! 😉

  63. I really enjoy your blog! Its so well done, i appreciate looking back at others posts for ideas! As i am a newer “50” lol, i enjoy all of this so much!!

  64. Love your stories ! And the different way you put outfits together.

  68. Susan Stancliff says:

Tania, I love everything about your blog! I love the fact you are a real person with hilarious stories and ups and downs. I love the clothes you style. Your jewelry is fabulous. Without you I would have never discovered Plunder or Rodan and Fields. I feel like we all could be the best of friends, each and everyone of your “gurls”. Thank you for everything you do and especialy for just being you.

  69. I agree with Caroline. I am an “almost 50” that still feels 20 and struggles with how to wear current trends without looking ridiculous. I love this tie dye option and would wear it myself. I also read your blog along with my morning coffee. Keep up the good work!

  70. Susan Jones says:

Though I am a little past the 50 mark (or more than a little), I was drawn by your style and your down to earth attitude. It’s like chatting with a friend. I also love the mix of price points in your wardrobe–unpretentious yet quality when it counts. You rock.

  71. This blog is joyful and sends a message to women that age is ,indeed, an attitude. Tanya assures us that clothes should be fun, and we should relish the chance to try out different styles that make us feel pretty, sophisticated, trendy and feminine. She teaches us that jewelery can add flair to an outfit, and that makeup and skin care products can enhance our looks. Her message seems to be have fun, experiment, make mistakes, and enjoy being a woman at every age.

  72. Your blog gives me motivation to look my best, instead of placing myself on the “back burner” where I focus on everything else but myself. I really do feel better about myself when I take my time on what I wear, when I feel better about myself I have energy and confidence to bless others! Your blog is for real life women and is practical for us – but yet takes us “up” a level 🙂

  73. I love your blog, Tania. It teaches me how to shop my closet, how to use color, and suggesta what new pieces I need to incorporate, be it jewelry or clothes!

  74. I am new here and can barely remember being 50, but enjoyed your blog this a.m.! Checked out a few earlier blogs and look forward to getting them in the future. You are a ‘real woman’ speaking to ‘real women’ by fun messages! Your photography is super and ideas achievable in many different price points. Thank you for being a new friend!

    1. Susan Jones says:

Thanks for your candor. Good to know I’m not the only “lady of a certain age” who likes this blog. Tania’s style proves if it’s not immodest & makes you look & feel good, age sould not be a factor.

  75. R & F: what product do you use to remove foundation?

  76. Debbie B. says:

I like EVERYTHING! You have the cutest stories, the most darling personality and your tips are the best!

  77. I love this tie-dye top today!! When I first came across your blog, your asymmetrical hairstyle was the first thing that caught my eye! Then I realized after subscribing that virtually every outfit you create is something I would also wear! Even though I consider myself pretty “fashionable,” you have helped me put together outfits I may have never thought of before. And your stories…..I look forward to reading your post everyday to see what shenanigans you or your friends & family have been doing!! LOL Keep up the fantastic work! 🙂

  78. I’ve been following your blog since Oct. 2015 and like many of your followers, grabbing a cup of coffee and reading your blog is the first thing I do every morning. 81. I love your casual outfits the best. You are the sunshine that starts my day. Thank you!!

  82. I like that you are so genuine. You dont try to sound like a fashion expert, you just show us what you like and tell us how it makes you feel. And you’re relatable. I like that you are my size and age. Your humorous stories keep me coming back every day!

  83. Billee Jo says:

Although I have followed you for a while, I am a first time “commenter”. I love your fashion for all women and all occasions. I also love how down to earth and fun your blog is! It is a joy to read.

I get up before the alarm goes off to read your blog to see if you have given me any new ideas for my wardrobe. i feel like your one of my sisters helping me decide on what to wear for the day. I have a similar tye dye shirt that has been sitting in my closet, so I think I decided on what I’m wearing today! You look fabulous as always.

  89. Tania, I love reading your blog, love your fun personality & then, of course, the fashion advice. Just because we are over 50, does not mean we can’t be stylish!! Thank you for all your work on your blog….so fun!!!

  90. Therese W says:

I look at and read your blog every morning to give me an idea what to wear to work! I don’t have as many choices as you, but it helps!

  91. I have just started following you and look forward to your daily posts. I’ve followed several fashion blogs and find that, like many magazines, they feature clothes and accessories that are unreasonable in price for most of us. Your clothes and accessories are beautiful and reasonably priced. But the topper is your personal stories with each post. Makes me feel like your just down the street and a friend. Keep it up.

  92. Tania, I appreciate your honesty and candid comments…you a always positive! I appreciate your faithfulness to your blog!

  93. Anita patrick says:

I recently found your blog and am enjoying it. I recently turned 62 and was searching for fashion over 60. Waalaa..i find you on Pinterest. I love the fact that you’re real! You talk honestly and are quite charming. I love that you show how to wear what we already have. You don’t come across snobby. You are embracing who you are, with grace, humour and honestly.
    Anita Patrick.

  94. I look forward to reading your blog each morning. Love your fashion suggestions each day, but I love reading about your daily adventures…

  95. Virginia Pfeiffer says:

Even though we have never met, it feels like we have been friends for years. Your daily blogs feel like I am catching up with one of my best friends. I am a bit ? Older than fifty but I still love dressing up and keeping up with the current styles. Your blogs keep me informed. Love being one of the gurls!

  96. Jane McMillian says:

Your blog is so “real” lol! AND it has given me permission to wear distressed jeans something I thought was not appropriate for my age. Now when I get the eye from my husband I just say “my blog gal says this is on trend!! “

  97. Hi Tania, love this look! Does link take you to the same top or something similar?

  98. Susan in SC says:

Love this outfit Tania! I am a fan of your more casual outfits as they suit my lifestyle at the moment, with frequent visits to construction sites. You are always “pulled together” no matter the situation and it has been affirming to see that my style is still ok at “my” age of 58 – as long as the “booty” is covered! Lol! No granny pants here!

  99. Patti hendrix says:

I love your outfits and getting new ideas about fashion.

  100. I found your looks on Pinterest and fell in love with your style. You talk about your faults in a way that most women can relate too. I always look forward to seeing what the next post will be. Great job for keeping us inspired to look our best!

  103. I’m like so many of your other followers. I love getting a cup of coffee and reading your blog every morning. You have such a sense of style that is always classy and sassy. You definitely make “50 not old”! I feel like I know you because of the stories you share. I wish we lived closer to each other because I think you would be a great gurlfriend.

BTW, I’m usually not a big fan of tie-dye, but I love your top.

I look for your post first thing every morning. I love to see what you’re wearing. I’m not good at putting together outfits and I love your ideas!

  109. Sandy Hopkins says:

I am new to your blog,(just a few months), but now, it starts my day! I love it! And I love a blog that is written by someone closer to my age which is 62. Keep it up, gurlie!!!!!!

  110. Kay Priest says:

Great top! I love this blog because you have great style, you are down to earth, and I feel like I can relate to you.

  111. Love your fresh writing style. Very real and relatable. Cute clothes, vintage look jewelry and funny, life stories are a great way to start the day. Thanks Tania!

  112. I read your blog every day with my 1st cup of coffee. It is a great way to start my day! I liked tie dyed clothing in my 20’s and still do, cute outfit. What I really like about your blog is that you style clothes that we all have in our closets and just put your Tania twist on them.

  113. Tania,
I love the fact that I am 50 something working woman and I leave the creativity of putting outfits together to you!! You do a wonderful job and I look forward to seeing what’s new everyday!!

  114. I love to see how you dress up jeans and how you give me ideas for business casual. You help me see outside of my comfort zone. I look for you every day.

  115. Good morning! I like the fact that you wear what you like, and it doesn’t always have to be the latest trend to look beautiful and stylish. Thank you for being able to relate to the every day real ladies! Have a blessed day!

  116. Good morning Tania! With coffee in hand, yours is the first email I read. I LOVE your passion for fashion and know your posts will be humorous and/or uplifting which is a great way to start the day. I love this outfit on you and I am one that always wear flats. Since I live south of Miami, usually it’s flip flops:)

  117. Well, you and your blog are part of my morning routine of coffee, newspaper and Tania! I love starting my day off with your blog. I love the you are just like us, one of the “gurls” as you would say! I think I love fashion as much as you and I get great ideas on how to put together outfits. You also inspired me to become a stylist for Plunder and an independent consultant for R+F! Don’t ever underestimate the impact you have on others!
    Happy Friday!

  118. Ann Claire says:

I always read your blog 1st thing in the morning. It helps me start my day. I love your down to earth “real” comments. It makes me feel like I’m chatting with a girlfriend every day! Thank you!

  120. I love your spunk. You keep it real while always looking fabulous.

  121. Recently started reading your blog. Love that you are a regular gal making everyday clothes look great. Thanks for inspiring me up my game.

  122. I read your blog first thing in the morning with my first cup of coffee as some others do. I love your style and just know we’d be friends if we lived closer.

  123. Yay tie-dye! I still want to wear it and you showed us how! I’m with Caroline on feeling young inside and wanting to reflect that without feeling foolish. Please send some warm weather this way. I woke to howling winds and everything snow covered and just want to go back to bed….

  124. I love this top! The entire outfit is so fun and comfy looking! I love reading your blog, it’s informative, refreshing, and at times humorous! Your fashion eye is fantastic and you are always so upbeat and positive! God bless!

  125. Love your style and how you put pieces together. I also like that you get the whole picture-jewelry included. Love that you are down to earth and keep it real!

  126. I am a former “grab the black” top because it goes with everything. I found your blog soon after you started and have slowly evovled into a brighter wardrobe. Wearing what I call happy colors makes me feel great! I can always count on you for smiles and inspiration.

  127. My morning routine is to check the 50 is not old blog post and drink my cup of coffee. It’s like having a daily chat with a friend. When I saw title for today’s post, I thought it would be an outfit that wouldn’t be on my like list, but I was wrong! I really like the tie-dye shirt! Have a great weekend.

  128. Your blog has taught me to “always wear what you want to wear”! Love the variety and styles! Fashion is a way of living. 🙂

  129. Michelle Castagne says:

What I like about 50 Is Not Old is that you have fun and laugh and not complain too much. Some people complain all the time about something, even the small stuff.

  130. Love the outfit it really make your eyes pop.

  131. Bernie McIntyre says:

Hi Tania was really surprised how much I liked your tie dyed top it’s lovely on you ? I love your blog because it’s honest and genuine and I love checking out your style every morning with my cup of coffee it’s become part of my daily routine have a great day ?

  132. You are my breakfast reading material! Come and join my Fancy Friday linkup!

  133. Good morning Tania. Happy Friday to you! Love your tie dye top. Soft and subtle shadings. Unlike the tie die of long ago in the 70’s. It’s funny how trends come back again in cycles. We’ve gone back to that look numerous times over the years. I just yesterday saw bell bottoms in the stores…….again. I remember my daughter in the late 90s when she was in middle school found a pair of my old bell bottoms I wore in high school and she wore them all year long. (Why did I keep those) She still has them! Have a great weekend.

  134. Your daily posts are like getting an email from your best friend. You share the good, the bad, and everthing in between. You are one of us.

  135. Kaye Bradley Williams says:

I love being inspired by the outfits and colors and pushing myself in a new direction! You have a great sense of humor too, and I feel like I’m talking to a friend I’ve known forever! Thank you!

  136. Among The Treasures says:

It is refreshing to see a style blog that shows current fashions and trends in a modern, modest way for the forty plus client. I always come away with insights and motivation to update and upgrade my style.

  137. I’m in my 50s but in my head I’m in my 20s and I want to wear clothes that reflect that. I don’t want to look fuddy duddy but I would hate to wear fashions that were too young for me. Your blog has shown me how to achieve the right balance. Thank you.

    1. Same here Caroline!!! Tania does an excellent job of styling and looking very young and chic while remaining very classy!

    2. I agree Caroline. That’s exactly how I feel! I’m so glad I discovered this refreshing blog!

    3. I happened to see an email sent to me by a friend. I am 74 but feel 40 ish. I love the colors and different styles but don’t know where to find any and all of them. I love young looking clothes but still ok to wear in my 70’s.

  138. Angela Grafe says:

Good morning – here it is 7:15 am and i love reading your blog while drinking my 1st coffee in morning! Still cold and strong wind here – so appreciate your beautiful colours ( especial yesterday – the royal blue is amazing)! Have a great day – Angela

  140. That’s a very classy tie dyed top you look fantastic

  141. You’re real. Faults and flaws aren’t hidden. It’s refreshing!
