Wearing Black Pants Three Ways for the Holidays
Usually, black is not my go-to color, but I’ve embraced it this fall. Black can be too harsh against my skin, so I’ve learned to add a brighter color around my face to brighten my look. These gorgeous outfits from Talbots are ones I can wear for the holidays and later this winter. Today I’m wearing black pants three ways for the holidays.
Bright colors make me happy, so I love adding hot pink, vivid red, and vibrant shades of blue to my wardrobe. You can add a pop of color in many ways, like with a scarf, handbag, shoes, or jewelry.
My pop of color is this Festive Pink Cashmere V-Neck Sweater, and you can see how it makes me glow. I would probably add a fun Christmas brooch like the ones below to make this outfit look a little more festive for the holidays. I wasn’t undecided whether to order a medium or a large, but I ended up ordering a large. I would rather something be a tiny bit large on me as too tight. However, I think the medium would work best, so I will order that size and see which one works best.
My husband has a “thing” for sunglasses and watches. My “thing” is puffer coats with fur trim on the hood. I can’t get enough of them, so when I saw this Faux Fur Trim Hooded Alternative Down Parka, I had to order it. I ordered it in black and red to see which one I liked the best. Lol! The coat is super warm and fits great. I’m wearing a medium, and it fits fine even with wearing a sweater underneath.
I know I’ll get a lot of wear from this coat this winter, and I even like how it looks next to my face.
Here is another outfit wearing black pants for the holidays. If you’ve followed me for very long, you know I also have a “thing” for Fair Isle sweaters. Fair Isle is a traditional knitting technique used to create patterns with multiple colors, and it became popular after the Prince of Wales wore one in 1925.
Red is a traditional color of Christmas, and this Ruby Red Fair Isle Sweater looks holiday ready. I love this festive print that can be worn all winter long, not just around Christmas. This sweater looks great with black, but it will look great with camel, white, or jeans. I’m wearing a medium which fits me great.
When creating a festive holiday outfit, black and brown might not be your first thought. This outfit is sure to change your mind with its classic look and just a hint of sparkle.
I didn’t have to look far to get my inspiration for this outfit. Lucy Lu looks perfect in her black and brown coat, and we match perfectly. This Mockneck Sweater features a festive, metallic stripe with a tiny bit of sparkle. I’m wearing a medium, and the sweater fits great.
Getting a photo of the sparkle is not easy, but you can see a few shiny specks on the sweater. I’ve worn this sweater with the Faux Fur Metallic Vest that I wore with the light coral Fair Isle Sweater earlier, and it looked fabulous.
All of these festive holiday looks were made with a pair of Black Stretch Corduroy Jeggings. I bought these ankle-length corduroy pants last year in Twig, and I loved them so much that I got a black pair this year. These pants are flattering and stretch enough to feel comfortable even if you are active all day long. I’m wearing my usual size 8, and they fit TTS.
I like dressing comfortably, and I also want to look modern and stylish. I love shopping at Talbots, and I am not the only one. Talbots has always been my husband’s favorite retailer. When he traveled out of town, he always brought me back something from Talbots. Talbots carries classic and timeless clothing that always seems to be in style. I find the quality of the clothing excellent, and I can wear them for years.
Talbots sponsors this post, and I will receive compensation, but the opinions expressed are my own.
