WEARING BLACK AND WHITE FOR A CHIC SPRING LOOK

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is looking chic in a black top with a white long blazer, light wash jeans, black pumps, and a Tory Burch tote

When it comes to fashion, Spring is all about wearing pastels and florals. It is the time of the year when we put away the dark colors from fall and winter and embrace the colors that bring our faces to life. I am always anxious to start wearing brighter, lighter, and vibrant colors because I know that it signals warmer weather ahead. Today, I am bringing you an outfit that consists of black and white, and I think that you will agree it is a chic spring look.

Chic, according to the dictionary, means “elegantly and stylishly fashionable.” That is a look that I aspire to in all of the months of the year. However, even though I aspire to achieve that look, it doesn’t always happen. I try to learn from my mistakes and hopefully not make them again.

This black and white look is one that I love, and I think that it looks stylish and fashionable. That sounds like the definition of chic, so I would say that my mission is accomplished. This mostly cotton black shell is a great casual to dressy top. The ruffle neck is feminine and stylish, and when left open, creates a great v-neck. This sleeveless shell is great for layering, but this summer, you can wear it alone once the weather warms up.

I am wearing a medium in the top, which fits me fine. However, I forgot to add a fashion tape between the buttons to keep from having gaps. This is one of those mistakes that I hopefully will learn from and not repeat. This tape is also great for keeping bra straps in place, keeping your mask close to your face so that your glasses won’t fog up, and for an emergency hem repair.

Here is a better look at the ruffle neck of the shell. It is also a great photo showing you the jewelry that I am wearing. You’ve seen all of these items before because they are favorites of mine that I wear with everything.

The AVI large gold hoops are lightweight and create a big statement. The Beckett link bracelet and the Maggie filigree bangle bracelet are two that I love wearing together. I like the different textures that this pair has, and I think they look great worn together.

The photos above of the top showed my casual look, and this photo shows you the dressier look. The shell has a removable long tie that allows you to have a big bow for a chic and dressy look. I will normally pick the casual style over the dressy option, but I like that I have the choice. This look with the bow looks professional, and it will look great with a suit or under a dress.

Now, for the white portion of this black and white outfit. Holy crap, I love this white blazer!!! It has a modern style and lots of features that I look for in a blazer. It has a notched lapel, long sleeves with button cuffs, a single-button front, front flap pockets, a back vent, and it is lined. Plus, it is the longer length that I love at the moment, and it hits me below my hips. It is not only all of that, but it LOOKS so effortlessly chic and stylish, and it will be perfect for this spring and summer.

The blazer is soft to the touch, and that is always a huge plus for me. It is softly fitted, and I am wearing a size 10, which fits me greatly.

This Tory Burch mini tote bag screams CHIC! I love the creamy white canvas and the gorgeous leather trim. Plus, I am becoming a fan of this size handbag. I would have never thought that I could carry such a small bag, but they have grown on me. It turns out that I didn’t need all of the junk that I was putting in my larger bags after all. Lol!

Remember how I said that I want to wear things next to my skin that are soft? Well, I would have never thought that a pair of jeans would ever make my list for soft items, but I was wrong. This pair of Jag’s Jeans will rival my loungewear and leggings when it comes to comfort.

These bootcut jeans are a lighter wash which I seem to prefer in spring and summer. The cut of the jeans is very flattering, and they make my legs look very long and slender. While I love the look of the jeans, it is how they fit that made me rip off the tags. The jeans feature a material that smooths the tummy and lifts the rear. Can I get a big woohoo for that feature??? The waistband is stretchy and doesn’t cut into my skin, and they fit like a dream.

I am wearing a size 10 in the jeans, but I saw that the sizes are getting limited. I found the same jeans from a different supplier with other sizes, so try this oneif your size is sold out. Here is a medium wash in this jean, but it is limited also. I’ll see if I can find some more for you to choose from.

I am wearing a pair of classic black pumps for this outfit. The pumps go with the dressier vibe of this outfit, and I look for any reason to wear pumps. Lol! This is a pair by Coach that I have had for a long time, but you can find classic pumps in many places and different heel heights.
