WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLE

50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEThank you for commenting on Saturday’s post and for the side dish recipes. I already tried one with cucumber and tomatoes, it was delicious. I am serious when I say that I need to drop 20 pounds but I want to do it in a healthy way. I have tried low carb, vegetarian and vegan, clean eating, and a host of other diets. I loved each one and I lost weight on each one. I am looking for something that will stay with me for more than a couple of months. I want something that will become a lifestyle and not a diet.50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEI need inspiration, I need a challenge, I need a chef and a trainer. I can provide room and board if you are up for the job. Lol! One of my main concerns is energy. I am already on thyroid medicine and a thyroid condition can make you tired so I need my food to energize me. I am not opposed to supplements, I just don’t know what really works. Feel free to comment below what you use, why you use it, and what experiences you have had with the products.50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEI used to love wearing pink but it seems like here lately that I hardly ever pick this color. When I do wear pink I have noticed that I choose the brighter pinks instead of the lighter color. Maybe as I got older I thought I needed help being seen. Sometimes we feel invisible as we age but with this color, you will certainly be noticed. Lol! I just noticed that this entire outfit, except for the purse and shoes, is from Cato Fashions. I love this little cute two layered top. The only draw back is that it is spaghetti strap and it is little shorter than I really like.  50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLE Who doesn’t like Flamingoes? That is what I thought, EVERYBODY likes these graceful and colorful animals. I attached the Flamingo pendant to my Noah necklace. The Noah necklace is a lanyard that has a lobster claw to attach a badge, etc. With school starting back these would make great teachers presents. 50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLE This is a great picture of the Ashley bracelet. You can see how cute and colorful it is and why it is my favorite bracelet from Plunder. The bracelets on the right are some from Alex and Ani. Today is the last day to take advantage of the sign-up deal from Plunder Design.  Go here and click on the Become A Stylist tab if you are interested. Feel free to email me at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com if you have any questions. 50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLE I have had this pair of palazzo pants for a while now. These are not for the faint of heart that is for sure. When you have something this colorful you have plenty of choices as what to wear with them. I was trying to look back on the blog and see how I wore these pants the last time. I searched and searched but I couldn’t find anything so I have evidently never even worn them before. If I had wanted to tone down the pants then I would have worn black. 50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEThe jacket is not an expensive one. I knew that this was going to be an item that I would not wear often so I didn’t see any reason to buy one that would last me for ages. I look upon trends also in this way. I will spend more money on something that I know I will wear more than one or two seasons. If it is a classic item that can be worn multiple times then I will splurge. I like nice things just like everyone else. A black, white, or navy jacket would be worth the splurge while this hot pink or bright orange might not be. It really all depends on the person doing the purchasing.50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEToday is the last day in July. This is the LAST day to take advantage of my Christmas in July specials with Rodan + Fields. It has been a wild month in my Rodan + Fields business! I have signed on more consultants than ever before, even signing my first consultant in Canada. I am more thrilled for these ladies than you can imagine. I love when ladies purchase products because I know that they are going to be seeing great results but I really love when they sign up as a consultant. I know that they are getting the best possible price and if they want to have additional income that all they have to do is put time and effort into the business. I love seeing them succeed even more than when I do. If you are interested in learning more then just let me know. We will set up a call and discuss what is the best option for you.

You know when you put a post on FaceBook you wait to see if you will get any “likes” or “hearts?” That is how I feel about my blog. Leaving a comment and pinning a picture to Pinterest is my equivalent to a “like.” If you share my post on FaceBook that is a “heart.” Show me some love, gurls!!!

I also have thyroid issues (100 mcg of Synthroid everyday). I did Weight Watcher’s Online ~ no meetings ~ & lost 50 pounds. I eat lots of fruit, vegetables, lean protein & whole grain carbs. It is very do-able once you have the right mindset! Go for it!

  2. Tried every diet you have. I bought into Hello Fresh to just learn more portion control. We have cut back a lot.I used to cook for a family of four and now there is just two of us.

  3. Tania, you don’t look like you need to lose any weight, especially 20 pounds!!! I don’t have any advice on healthy side dishes or supplements because I’m still trying to figure that one out for myself.(ha) Love those palazzo pants with the bright pink! Palazzo pants are so comfortable and cool to wear in the summer, and those you’re wearing are gorgeous! Guess what? I’m getting some eyelashes like yours since using R+F eyelash serum – hallelujah!!! What kind of mascara do you use? It really makes your eyelashes show up great in the photos. Have a great week!

    Beautiful Outfit!
I have done Weight Watchers and think that is definitely the way to go. I started out on a program online, no meetings or anything like that. I now know how many points I can have everyday. I never understood all the Bonus points, but know that you never go hungry and fruit (all you can eat) are zero points. On cheat days, I would be afraid to get on the scale afterwards, but would still lose weight. Lots of things have ww points on the back of the product. I know how many points are in things, but you get to know it in your head and it’s not an inconvenience at all and it works. You can go out to dinner and know that you are ok. It’s super easy…I highly recommend it!

  5. I love Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. I learned how to eat in a way that allows a real life to happen. I lost weight and it’s been easy to keep it off. No more dieting for me, just a healthy way to eat and maintain.

  6. Hi Tania from Texas! I have followed your blog for a few weeks now and really enjoy it. I sympathize with your hope to lose 20 pounds. I am in the same boat! We were blessed to be able to go to Italy this summer for two weeks. It was amazing, and we did a LOT of walking! One thing I really noticed, though, was PORTION SIZE of the meals we ate. Americans really go overboard on their portions! So that is the first change I have made: eat only until I am full and not STUFFED (in the South we are raised not to leave food on our plates!). Besides my usual walking at least a mile every day, FOR A MONTH I have cut out fried foods, no chips unless they’re baked, and no fast food! I feel that these small changes will work in my favor and then I can add a little more (regular workouts at the Y!). Good luck to us!

  7. If you’re really looking for a change in the way you eat, and not a “diet”, then you should research eating paleo. I, like you, prefer not to take supplements, and eat as natural as possible. I don’t count calories, points or worry about the amount I eat. I had life long digestive issues that only worsened as I got older. My doctors seemed only interested in trying new medications. So I decided I needed to try something for myself. Paleo is now my way of life. I weaned myself off of meds within 3 months, lost 23 pounds, and feel wonderful again. As a side note, I don’t use any protein powders or supplements and try to stay as low fat as possible.

  8. Hi Tania. Lots of good advice from your followers! I also suggest you research bio-identical hormones-starting with your thyroid. Natural versus synthetic makes a big difference and helped me to stabilize my thyroid and postmenopause issues after years of low energy Once that was accomplished, losing those miserable extra pounds was SO much easier. Best wishes to you on your journey.

    1. Tania, you look terrific today, as always. Btw, I’m hypothyroid and on Synthroid/synethetic med. Very low energy & now blood pressure & pulse issues besides, from it. :-/ So -I am switching up doctors & next seeing one who IS also open to natural meds from animals! I’m hoping it’s the holy grail for energy, weight and better health. (Wishful thinking, but most are more satisfied on it!) Btw, here’s a link to docs who prescribe the natural meds. http://www.thyroidchange.org/patient-recommended-doctor-list-us.html Take care, Tania!

  9. You always look fantastic but when it’s on our heart to drop weight, it’s time to try. I started Weight Watchers August 2014. did the first year totally on-line, the moved to adding meetings and their personal coaches to keep me on target. Lost around 80. It is a good, flexible program that I highly recommend. I am entering into a valley of being bored and it is slowly creeping back but doing what I can to resist. It is my battle and nothing against the program at all. I am just not doing it as diligently as I should.

I’ve found when weight weighs me down emotionally, I am less able to the Lord’s work since I am tired and feeling unhappy with myself. My prayers are you will find the right program for you and you’ll reach your goal, being strong and continue to be an inspiration to so many!

  10. I have thyroid issues also. I have been on medication for over 15 years. I struggled with energy levels and losing weight was impossible. I have lost around 20 pounds since April doing the AIP eating plan. There is a Facebook group called Hashimotos411. (It is a closed group, so you have to request to become a member.) You can learn about it there. It is not a diet. It is an eating plan for those with thyroid or autioimmune disease. As a matter of fact, they will tell you losing weight is not the goal. Being healthy is! But as you get healthy, you lose inflammation from not eating the bad foods! Feel free to email me if you want more information. (They don’t try to sell you anything. They just are there for information. As a matter of fact, they will take you out of the group if you try to sell supplements.) Good luck!
