I recently placed an order for Walmart fashions and came across these two tops that can be styled in several ways. Versatile clothing makes me happy because I get my money’s worth from the purchase. But I also love how it stretches me to create different outfits. I’m showing a couple of different looks with these two tops, but I’m hoping to inspire you to create other looks.

Navy and white are a classic color combination and can be worn with almost any other color. This outfit is a sweater set, and I love its versatility since each piece can be worn separately.

I originally ordered this set in a size large, but it was too big for me. But I liked the material and the style of the set, so I reordered it in a medium, and it fits great.

You can wear the short sleeve striped sweater as a top or an open cardigan. I wanted to show that it has functional pockets, and you could slip your keys, lipstick, or AirPods inside.

Here is a look at the back of the cardigan; you can see that the stripes extend to the back. You can also see how the wide-leg sweater pants look from the back. The pants also have pockets which are a must-have for me. This is a nice medium-weight set that you can wear for the rest of spring and into summer.

The other top I ordered is also navy and white but in a tweed-style material. I didn’t take photos of this top with the navy sweater pants, but they matched and looked good together. Also, the striped short sleeve cardigan in the first photos will look great with these cuffed jeans.

You could also wear a white button-up shirt under either of the dark navy cardigans, and the one by Time and Tru is great.

I learned my lesson about sizing from the first outfit, so I ordered the tweed cardigan in medium, and it fits great. The material is a nice weight, and it looks and feels expensive. I’ve found that the Free Assembly brand is of great quality.

The jeans are modern-looking, but the style might not be for everyone. I love the large cuff style; it reminds me of the 1950s when it was a “cool” statement. These jeans aren’t really cuffed; it is a sewn cuffs that can’t be un-cuffed. I’m wearing my usual size 8 in these jeans.

Here is a look from the back. I know many of you want to see how the jeans look back, and you can see they are a relaxed fit through the legs.

These slide sandals are super cute to wear with jeans, dresses, or shorts. Unfortunately, this straw color has already sold out, but there are other colors you might also like. The pink version grabbed my attention, and I have those on order. The sandals run true to size, and I’m wearing my usual size 9.

Other Ways These Two Tops Can Be Styled

Here are three other inspirational outfits using these two navy and white tops. The links to all the items can be found under each photo.

I knew I would wear these tops with white jeans, pants, and shorts. The scrunchback sneakers and straw tote gives the inspirational outfit an elevated look.

Since I knew many of you wouldn’t be fans of the cuffed ankle jeans, I decided to show how the tops would look with a pair of straight jeans. I had a leather hobo handbag almost identical to this one, and I loved the beautiful blue shade.

Did you know that navy and pink look great together? I have these pink cargo pants and slides on order, and I hope they look good together. I’m not sure I would carry the floral satchel with these tops, but it would look great with that white button-up I linked earlier.

Walmart makes it very convenient for its customers to shop, especially since most people have a store within 10 miles of their homes. You can also sign up for Walmart+, where you get Free Shipping with no order minimums (excludes most Marketplace items, location & freight surcharges) and Free Delivery (where available) with orders over $35. I take advantage of home delivery several times a week and love that small convenience.

Walmart sponsors this post, and I will receive compensation, but the opinions expressed are my own.

I love the items you pick from Walmart!

  8. Love that the tweed sweater is primarily cotton. The label that really determines whether the garment will endure is the fabric content. Whether the garment is a keeper or a one trick pony is more about what it is made of rather than the brand and store.

  9. I too like Walmart and their $35 order free shipping. Especially like their brand “Time & True”. Great price and construction.

    1. Time & True brand has really surprised me. I’ve got several of their pieces and they are my favorites.

  10. I love both the tops. Navy is such a good color for spring and summer, especially for someone like me who looks washed out when wearing pastel colors.

  13. I can definitely be late to remembering something today and forgetting it on the actual day tomorrow. happy anniversary to your parents. and happy birthday to Joe because I’ll probably forget by 2 days from now

Love the short sleeved cardigan and flared pants set. Unfortunately it is sold out in my size. Will check my local Walmart store to see if they may have it.

  17. I love the tweed style cardigan. Walmart has really stepped it up in the fashion department. Another place I have found some really cute clothing lately is Cato. Have you ever shopped there? The prices are so good.

    1. I used to shop at Cato, but it has been a long time.

      1. I use to shop at Cato’s but this past year their clothes seem dated. Thanks for letting us know that Free Assembly is good quality. I like Time and Tru a lot. They carry X-small and size 2. Even though I prefer petite, Time and Tru clothes fit me well.
