TIERED BELL SLEEVES

Winter just can’t seem to make up its mind. I have heard winter described as “Old Man Winter” but I am beginning to think that the description is wrong. I believe instead that winter must be a woman and we all know how women are. At least some of us are known for having a hard time making up our minds. Winter can’t decide if it is staying or going here in Virginia. There were several days of temperatures in the 70’s and all day on Wednesday I watched snow flurries flying around outside my window at work. Crazy!!!The time is changing on Sunday, my Forcynthia bush is blooming, I see buttercups popped up all over town, and there are several trees that are blooming in the mountains. That means Spring is here or at least fast approaching. That is a good thing because I am trying to style spring clothing and people around town keep giving me looks that say, “look at that woman, she is crazy!” In fact, I think some of you who live in the northern states of the US might be giving me those looks too. Lol!!! What can I say? I make sacrifices for my gurls! Anyway, don’t forget to spring forward this coming weekend!This outfit screams SPRING!!! I am loving the baby blue of this top. I tried it on as I was talking to my sister on the phone. That happens a lot in the mornings, and I told her that I couldn’t decide if I was keeping it or sending it back. She told me to send her a picture and then very forcefully said, “keep it!” Honestly, it didn’t take much to push me over the edge because I really love the color, the white stripes on the sleeves and around the bottom, and I like the ruffle details. You know it is ALL about the sleeves this year!

Pearls! Ahhh, I love my pearls. Pearls are my go-to when I don’t really have anything else specifically that I want to wear. They go with jeans as well as dresses, in other words, they are versatile. The Lottie necklace has been one that I have worn and worn and worn. I love all of the multiple stands and it is not as heavy as it looks. Don’t get me wrong, it is still on the heavier side, but I can wear this without my neck hurting. The Valerie pearl bracelet is so easy to get on an off because it stretches. If you are young that might not mean much to you, but as you get older or if you have arthritis that can come in handy. I like the Lauren key earrings but I don’t like them with this outfit, they are much too bright and too Aqua. I changed my jewelry for the peals and forgot that I had added the Lauren earrings. You know that if you wear a shoe the same color as your pants that it will elongate your leg, so, what if the shoe is the same color as your leg? Do my legs look longer??? I could have uploaded these pictures to a service that “tans” the photos but I wanted you to realize that I am just like you. I am white in the winter. I am also too lazy to apply the sunless tanner that I sell and have plenty of. Lol! The shoes are H by Halston and they came from QVC. They do have a high heel of 4 1/2″ which takes me a little getting used to when I put them on. The good part is that they are on sale for over 1/2 off. I like this pair of white pants because of the seam down the front. I will pick this pair over all of my other white dress pants. They are the perfect length and the fit perfectly. The brand is Jules & Leopold and I think this pair came from TJ Maxx but I couldn’t be sure because they are several years old. I can’t believe that I have kept a pair of white pants for so long, especially a pair that I wear so often.

How are you enjoying my week of white? Too much too fast? Let me share with you the funniest story. This will leave you giggling for the rest of the day. I was sitting here at my computer last night and my phone dings notifying me that I had a text message. I opened it up to see that I had a message from my son who lives in Tennessee, AND he is 37 years old. I opened the message and it said, “I’m not getting in!!!!! I’ve been waiting for four years to bath with you!!! I want to bath either Thursday or Friday if you even want to!!!” Talk about being confused! I texted him back, “What are you talking about? Have you lost it? ? All I got back from him was a “?” Then in a few seconds, I got another text, “Oh…., hahaha! That was Matti (my 9-year old granddaughter) using my iCloud and thinking that she was texting Steph (my DIL) ???? When Matti opened up the phone and it said “MOM” she thought it was her mom instead of her daddy’s mom. Hahaha! I can’t wait to tease her about this later when I get to see her.
