50 IS NOT OLD | THIS STYLE DRESS IS SO FLATTERING | FASHION OVER 40It was really late when I got home last night from my event that I was hosting. All I am saying about it at this time is that I didn’ throw up, pass out, or die, so it was a success. Lol! I’ll tell you more about everything when I actually have time. First off, this is NOT what I wore to the event but it was an outfit that I wore to church the other day. It is a simple outfit and since I don’t have a lot of jewelry on, I know that this post won’t be lengthy. Hahaha!50 IS NOT OLD | THIS STYLE DRESS IS SO FLATTERING | FASHION OVER 40It poured the rain on us all the way over to the event and back. That made driving incredibly hard since the wet road reflects all the lights. I am not a big fan of driving in the dark normally much less when the roads are wet and slippery. And, just to put the cherry on the top of the ice cream, I had my car washed the day before. Lol!!! Does it ever fail to happen like that? At least this time my Energizer Bunny Friend didn’t hit a pole with my car! I think that Joe and I are the only people around who found humor in the fact that their car hit a pole.50 IS NOT OLD | THIS STYLE DRESS IS SO FLATTERING | FASHION OVER 40True confessions, since I am worn out and tired, I picked the outfit with the least amount of items to post about today. Lol! This wrap dress had been hanging in my closet for years and I had never worn it. I have always heard how the wrap style dress is slenderizing and flattering but I just couldn’t wrap my mind around the concept. I kept looking at the bunching of the dress in the front and thinking, “how is that going to be flattering?” I was wrong. I like this effect a lot. The only thing I would have liked to have seen changed is the length of the hem. I would have liked for this to have a little shorter. It didn’t bother me when I was wearing it but in looking at the pictures it might be a little matronly. What is the verdict? I know you will tell me.50 IS NOT OLD | THIS STYLE DRESS IS SO FLATTERING | FASHION OVER 40Since all of my Plunder jewelry is either sold out or discontinued, I am just linking to the website and letting you go and look to see if you can find something you like. Hahaha! You can tell that I am really tired, can’t you? The huge amount of bangles on my right arm are all bracelets by Alex and Ani. Most of them have been rewards from Rodan + Fields but some of them have been a gift or purchased by me.50 IS NOT OLD | THIS STYLE DRESS IS SO FLATTERING | FASHION OVER 40The back view isn’t too bad today. I wanted to show you how pretty the red waterfall cardigan looks with this dress. The dress is sleeveless so I needed something to cover my arms. It is a little tricky wearing a cardigan or jacket with a dress because of the length. Sometimes a longer item looks best and there are times with a short jacket looks best. I think that a white blazer would have looked awesome with this but mine was at the cleaners so I chose the red instead and I love the look. 50 IS NOT OLD | THIS STYLE DRESS IS SO FLATTERING | FASHION OVER 40Since this was a classic look I decided to go with a classic pair of shoes also. I am telling you, you can’t go wrong with a nice pair of plain black pumps. You need to invest in a pair that fits you well, is comfortable, and that you can wear for at least a couple hours at a time. I hate it when I am trying to slip my shoes off under the table because they are killing me. Lol!

I am sorry that I haven’t linked to any of my items but I barely have my eyes open. I’ll do better tomorrow, I promise.

This dress looks amazing on you! Honestly, I LOVE the longer length and wish ‘they’ would stop making dresses so short. For most of us, the longer length is much more flattering, unless you’re 20 years old!! Ha! Glad your event was a success last night. Had no doubt it would be.

  2. I like the dress, the length and the cardi. I’m finding that I am liking longer dresser or even better…long skirts because they cover more of my legs and I don’t have to worry about how they look now that they are “aged” or don’t have to worry if they aren’t tan. I, like on of the other comments, don’t like how my knees look anymore. I suppose you can’t find the dress or cari anyplace anymore 😉 I want to look at the websight of the shapewear you posted as I certainly could use some but not sure about the built in bra since I need a little “lift” since I have very little on top 🙁

  3. The dress is flattering on you and it could be a tad bit shorter to fit with today’s length of dress. Where did this dress come from? I’ve been looking for one for years but they don’t seem to fit well. Maybe I’ll add the spanx you’ve recommended to make it fit, lol !

  4. Very pretty! A wrap dress is a must! Would look good with demon jacket and red flats! Love it ! Best…Kathy

    1. Denim not demon! Lord I can’t type!

      1. Glad you clarified, Kathy. I was racking my brain trying to figure out what s demon jacket was. Lol!!

  5. could be a touch shorter, but lovely none the less.

Great classic look and perfect dress length! Would not change a thing!

  7. Beautiful, classic but not boring or matronly!

  8. A+ on this classic look. I like the length of the dress and the red waterfall cardigan looks beautiful paired with this dress. Pumps were the perfect shoe for this look. Hope you get lots of sleep!

  9. You look fabulous (not that you don’t always look great ) but the dress length and style are so elegant. The whole outfit makes you look taller and very shapely. Love it.

I like the red sweater and the length of the dress. I have ugly knees so I like a dress or skirt to cover them !
