THIS OR THAT – UNIQUE DETAILS AND ACCESSORIES
Today is supposed to be Hit or Miss Wednesday, but I needed to switch things around because of a scheduling change. So, today with be a This or That post instead. I’m going to be showing you two outfits that are both classics in some way, but they either have a unique detail or added accessories to give them a WOW factor.
THIS is a classic outfit because it is black and white. Black and white are a classic color combination, and whenever you are in doubt about what to wear, you will never go wrong choosing these colors. Usually, when I style black and white, the clothing pieces are solid colors. I feel like solid black and white clothing is more the “classic” look, and this outfit would fall under the “modern and trendy” look.
I’m a big fan of paisley print, and I love the tie-front style of this black and white tunic! Those are details that elevate this top into something modern and trendy. The slit v-neck is not deep or wide, and it’s flattering to most body shapes. I like a tie front since it draws your eye inward and helps to create curves. This top is relaxed and oversized, so it won’t cling to body parts we would rather not showcase. I’m wearing a size 1, and it fits perfectly.

The So Slimming Girlfriend Frayed Crops are cute as can be! I love wearing white jeans all year round, but they are especially cute in spring and summer. The double-stack frayed hem is a unique detail that keeps these crops looking modern and trendy. This is a style that even those who are not fans of distressing can embrace. I’ve been wearing size .5 in Chico’s pants, but I always size up when wearing white. So, these are a size 1, and they are a bit loose. I don’t like my white pants to fit too tight!
I’ve been enjoying these leather, all-white Puma sneakers. They are easy to wipe clean, and I find them very comfortable. They seem to run true to size, and I’m wearing my usual size 9.
If you are worried about the leather sneakers being too hot this summer, you might want to check out the Sperry Crest Vibe sneakers. They run a little big, so I sized down to an 8 1/2 instead of my usual size 9.
The THAT outfit is a more traditional classic outfit. Navy and taupe are classic colors that look great together, and they will never go entirely out of style. I added some fun and funky jewelry to grab your attention to keep the outfit interesting.
I’m wearing a Classic Navy Sweater Tank and a matching Straight Front Cardigan. A matching set is popular at the moment, and it is a classic look that I love. These two pieces can be worn separately, and since navy is a neutral color, you will get lots of wear from these pieces. I am wearing a size 1 in both pieces, and they both fit great.
Adding statement jewelry to an outfit can be dramatic, fun, or funky. With this Faux Coral Multi Bib Necklace, you get all of that rolled into one item. You will be surprised at how many times you will wear this necklace; I’ve already worn it multiple times, and I’ve only had it for a few weeks. I love the necklace, but I love the Faux Coral Multi Chandelier Earrings more. These earrings are lightweight, and they will be perfect for this summer. I can’t wait to wear these when I am at the beach!
Have you tried the So Slimming 360 Brigitte Ankle Pant yet? The 360 Brigitte Ankle Pants are a customer favorite, and they just got an update. According to the website, “The Brigitte So Slimming® 360 Ankle Pants have a new panel that extends all the way around, slimming and trimming your shape for a smooth look from any angle. Angled front pockets enhance the effect, perfect for casual wear or career days.” I just know that these pants look and fit great!!! The pants come in several colors, and I also have them in black. I’m wearing a size .5, and I wouldn’t want them to fit any tighter.
These Slingback Wedge Shoes are by TOMS, a brand known for giving back to the community. The natural hemp color and braided jute wrap make these shoes perfect for spring and summer. The platform is smaller than most I’ve ordered at 1,” and the wedge heel is 3 3/4″. These shoes will go with anything, and I can’t wait to wear them with shorts, crops, and jeans. I’m wearing my usual size 9, and the fit is perfect.
Do you hang your sunglasses on your top too? Lol! These chic Black Sunglasses have a modern shape that will have you looking sophisticated while keeping the sun out of your eyes. Here are a few other pairs that I like.

BTW, you might have noticed by the dark roots that this is my new haircut and color. I’m trying to get to the white/silver look, but it will take a few more trips to the salon before I can achieve that look.

I absolutely love the THAT outfit. It looks so cute and comfy. I also think the pants are cute in the THIS outfit but the THIS outfit doesn’t work for my body type but the THAT outfit does and I love it.
I would choose that. Love how slimming the sweater/cardigan combo is with the light pants.
I vote for “that.” I almost always choose solids over patterns, and I feel confident wearing navy.

Definitely the taupe pants and navy sweater outfit for me! Love it. Thanks for that. Just ordered the taupe pants as that color is hard to find. Broke my heart to pay that much, but I’ve been on the lookout for awhile. I would have ordered the whole sweater set too, but they don’t have my size.

I love the white jeans! Not crazy about the black and white top. I think it would look better with black pants. I am not a fan at all of the white sneakers. Black sandals would be much cuter. I really like the navy sweater and tank outfit.

Like the black & white top, but I think it screams for a more dressy shoe, like a black sandal. Don’t like the sneakers with it. Love the navy sweater outfit – great contrast with the necklace! But one question about your hair – why go to the salon for more silver? Can’t you just grow it out for free? 😆

I love paisley but I’m not a fan of the first top. Love those adorable white pants though!
I always like navy with white or khaki. Love the cardigan & shell in Spring. I’m not a fan of that jewelry with outfit #2. It seems better suited for a beach fabric and flowing look instead of a traditional look. Chico’s has a multi color bead necklace and bracelet that I think would be better with it.
