THIS IS HOW I MIX NEUTRALS AND BRIGHT COLORS TOGETHER
Summer is really opening up this year, and people are on the move. I went shopping on Monday, and we stopped to eat at a restaurant before we started shopping. The place was packed! Honestly, it was so great to see everyone living their lives again after the year we had last year. That got me wondering about how everyone is doing this year.
Some places are still on lockdown, and you can’t go out in public places without a mask. However, where I live, if you have been fully vaccinated, then you don’t have to wear your mask anymore. It depends on where I am going, how many people are going to be there, and how crowded it will be. Also, if I am with someone else who has to wear their masks, I’ll wear mine.
Wearing a mask doesn’t bother me, but it drove my mother crazy. However, I must admit that it sure feels good to go out and eat in a restaurant. Joe might have a date night in his future; don’t tell him.
You may be surprised to learn that the dress and blazer are both from Walmart. I came across this sleeveless sweater dress the other day when shopping, and I loved the pattern and design. The dress has thin straps, which are fine if you want sun on your shoulders, but I usually wear a cardigan or a jacket with this type of dress.
I love the zig-zag pattern, and the bright pink color really pops against the beige background. I wasn’t sure that I would like the sweater dress or if it would be flattering. However, it looks way better on me than I ever thought.
The length is fantastic, and I am 5’6″ for reference. I ordered a size large, and the fit is great.
I thought about adding a white blazer to this look but ended up adding a linen-colored scrunched sleeve blazer instead. I love this neutral color, and I think it will go with many things, even up into the fall of the year.
This is a lightweight blazer, and it is not lined. Basically, this is an affordable blazer that looks nice, but it is not one that you will hang onto for years. I am wearing a large, and it fits me great. If you want a similar blazer that will last you longer, then here are some options.
Did you notice that I styled two different shoes with the dress? I don’t think that either of the exact shoes is available, but I wanted to give you an idea of how a neutral shoe looks versus a bright-colored one.
I thought that I would like the neutral heel the best, but I liked the bright pink heel instead. Which is your favorite??? Here are some shoes that would work with this look.
Here is the dreaded “behind” shot. Lol! I thought that you might want to see how long the jacket was. It covers a lot of real estate and would look great with jeans.
I didn’t mention my handbag, but doesn’t it look great with the blazer? I told you that this Michael Kors handbag was the perfect summer bag. You know that I love a handbag when I put my Louis Vuitton on the shelf and choose another one instead. Every time that I link to this bag, it sells out. Here is the best that I could do…good luck.
Did this outfit make you sit up and take notice? I will warn you that you will have to wear a camisole or pin the dress since the neckline is so low. I have it pinned, but it is still really low.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

I noticed your hair has been cut and it looks nice but of course my husband said no no she needs to leave her hair a little longer ugh Both pairs of shoes look nice, but I’ll have to go with the pink. I love bright colors, but I wish you’d show some heels with peep toes. I love those shoes. You look beautiful in the outfit.
What a great outfit. It’s amazing what you can find if you keep your eyes open. You always pick pretty outfits Tania.
Love those hot pink heels! A couple of our friends were fully vaccinated and have had serious health issues from it. ) :
Pretty pattern and colors on the dress! I guessed Chicos and was surprised with Walmart!
Does the bottom have a flounce on it? It’s hard to tell with the pattern the way it is.
Nice jacket and bag!
Definitely pink shoes! The neutral jacket works, but I’d prefer white. Love options!
I think your Scripture is not 1 Cor. 10:13! However, I love the outfit and enjoy your blog so much. I am wondering if Joe is related to Larry Stephens of Montgomery, AL He used to be in the radio and talked about being from Grundy/ only other person besides you that I know.
I think it depends on the ocassion which shoes work best since they both look great with the dress. A wedding, I would wear neutral. You don’t want to upstage the bride with those hot pink shoes. You look fab-u-lous dahlin. 😀
I’m going against the grain, I prefer the neutral heels, they are very flattering! Let the dress be the focal point and not the shoes. Beautiful dress!

Hot pink heels look fantastic! 🙂 The dress looks great on you. It’s a keeper.
I love the look and just ordered it. It would be perfect for a summer wedding. I also liked the black and white version of the dress so will try it also. So cute!
Love this look, fantastic. Not sure Walmart Canada has these great clothes?
I vote for the hot pink heels over the neutral with this outfit. Lovely!
I am glad to see that so many of you agree with me.
Love the dress and blazer. Honestly I like both color shoes with the outfit. They each give it a different look depending on what you’re going for. I wish I would have bought the purse when it was on sale at Nordstrom – I love it!!
Gayle, you have got to take advantage of those sales. You can always send it back if you change your mind, but once they are gone…they are GONE!
You look great in the outfit. The dress would be too long and unflattering for my 5’2″ frame. I prefer the bright pink shoes.
I am not sure if they have a petite version of the dress, but it is super cute.
Hi Tania, I love your blog but have you changed your layout? There are so many ads posted that I cannot see you or tell what you have written!
Nope, not changed a thing.
You look adorable in this outfit!! My vote is wearing the hot pink heels….so sexy!!
Thanks, Holly. Those are my fav.
Love this outfit and the pink shoes really make it pop!
I would have never thought that I would love hot pink shoes. Lol!
Love the outfit on you!! I think it looks best with those hot pink shoes, too.
Those shoes get a lot of wear from me.
