50 IS NOT OLD | THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE FOR FALL | FASHION OVER 40Well, gurls, I have an update to my steroid story from yesterday. But, before I tell you about that, let me tell you that there isn’t going to be a Friday with Friends blogger this week. I have several that are lined up, but no one could make this Friday work. Most bloggers (not me) have posts scheduled ahead of time, and there were conflicting matters. Oh well, stay tuned, they will eventually get to come and visit. Back to the steroid story; Joe has now decided that he LOVES me on steroids. He is even claiming that he is going to have to keep me on them for at least a month. Lol! Here is what happened today.
50 IS NOT OLD | THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE FOR FALL | FASHION OVER 40I slept okay, but I woke up early and couldn’t go back to sleep. I finally got up at 5:00 a.m., and started getting some work done. When Joe got up, I had already done all of my emails, comments, posting, sending out the blog on another server, etc. Then, I went into the bedroom and put a new bedspread and bed skirt on the bed. I gathered up four loads of laundry and started those. Loaded the dishwasher and started it before heading out the door to cook 3 pounds of bacon on the Blackstone Grill. I just got some bacon presses, and those things worked terrifically. I made a 7-layer salad, got all of the laundry put away, swept off the porches, and made some banana nut bread with Emersyn. Joe just kept shaking his head because I never cook…or even clean. Lol! I was still going strong at 10:00 p.m. I think that he would take the bad mood, but that seems to have left. Win, win on his part.
50 IS NOT OLD | THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE FOR FALL | FASHION OVER 40Can you see me? Haha! I recently found this cute camouflage dress while I was out shopping this week. I can’t decide if I like camo or not. There are days when I like the print, but then the next time that I see the print, I am not into the print at all. When that happens, I will try to purchase the products at a less expensive price. I don’t want to invest a lot of money into a trend or a print that I am not sure that I like. So, when I saw this dress at Cato Fashions for under 25.00, I thought it was worth the purchase. I love the swing style; it is flowy and comfortable to wear. Plus, I like the flattering deep scoop. I am wearing a large, and it fits fine. Here is the link.
50 IS NOT OLD | THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE FOR FALL | FASHION OVER 40The Dallin is a 2.5″ textured gold hoop earring. I love this style; it is so easy to wear with almost anything. I added these earrings because I thought it went well with my necklace. This is last month’s Posse, and it is not available for purchase this month. This month’s set is a mixture of spring and fall. I’ll upload the picture for you to have a look-see. The Posse is a subscription service that is 25.00 for one to three pieces of jewelry, and that includes shipping and taxes. It is a great deal to start getting Christmas presents; you could have four gifts bought before it rolls around. It ships monthly on the same day that you sign up, and you can cancel at any time. There are no enrollment or cancellation fees. Here is the link to the Posse.
50 IS NOT OLD | THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE FOR FALL | FASHION OVER 40I thought that adding cute booties to the look helped this look be more fallish in nature. These faux suede booties are a pair of my favorite boots, and I wear them all the time in the fall and winter. I love this fawn-like color, and these are very comfortable for a shoe with a heel. These are not very expensive either, especially since they are on sale. You can purchase these for 30.00! Here is the link.
50 IS NOT OLD | THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE FOR FALL | FASHION OVER 40Thanks for all of the comments yesterday. I enjoyed reading them! Let’s see if you can comment again. Today, I am looking for real answers. I am sure there are things you like about my blog and things you could do without. It is impossible to make everyone happy, but I like to think that I would keep an open mind if several of you all suggested the same thing. Maybe you don’t like hearing so much about my life, or maybe you would like me to do more posts about dresses, purses, etc. Maybe you think that I am practically perfect the way that I am. I look forward to reading your suggestions. (I think) Lol!

I recently began following your blog because I liked your style posts on Pinterest. I enjoy seeing how you put together an outfit with all the accessories, as I am trying to open myself up to new styles and it gives me great ideas! Even though we are not the same coloring, I find myself trying some of things you have shown. I enjoy seeing the items you are passionate about. Keep doing what feels right to you, I’ll be following along.

  2. I love your lead-in stories, about your life and happenings. Please don’t stop sharing about that! I also love your style, though, every once in a while, I’m not fond of an outfit (mostly because it’s not really my style/taste or I don’t think it’s as flattering on you as most other things are) and am always so surprised when I read the comments and others are gushing over it! Just goes to show that “to each their own”! Admittedly, I breeze past the R&F section too, but appreciate that you put it at the end so I can do that without missing the majority of your post that I do love to read.

  3. Don’t change a thing. I love reading your blog everyday and you are one of the few I am subscribed to who is actually diligent about posting on a regular basis. Love the ‘Joe’ stories because they add authenticity to your blog. Keep up the good work. You have a real talent for fashion.

  4. Hi Tania – I am a long time blog reader. I was reading before R&F. I remember thinking wow her complexion looks better, I wonder what she is doing. I know R&F products are very good but they are expensive. Some people just cannot afford them and some who could may just not be willing to pay the price. I am probably in the middle. I always look to see if you are offering a special. If I had a blog and sold R&F I would definitely mention them because it’s the perfect forum. So I think having at the end is a great compromise. I love your family stories and think you are such an easy read. You have made me think about color and what looks best on me. I am at a point in my life where I want to be more selective and feel I need to edit what I have. I also think environmentally more people may be trying to use what they have. So any suggestions there would be appreciated. Hope you are feeling better every day.

  5. I forgot to comment about any changes you should make. My answer is NONE AT ALL. I loved your blog first time I read it over 2 years ago and still do. It’s my favorite! And I’m glad you posted about R+F because I now have the healthiest, best skin I’ve ever had – yes, me the skeptic is applauding you. It’s also become a life-changing business for me that I would never have had if it wasn’t for your little blurbs at the end of your blog. I thank you for that. ?. Don’t stop sharing the products or the business it could change someone else’s life too.

    1. Johnna, you are a breath of fresh air! You have become one of my best friends, and yes, it was because of a blurb at the end of my blog. I can see the difference in you also. It is funny how it changes your life and attitude. See you in Nashville!

  6. I think I need some steroids!! Impressive amount of work done at so early in the morning. I’m am big into camo right now – actually I have been all summer. I like the swing dress – one of my favorite styles. Cute! Cute!

    1. I am a big fan of swing dress! They really work to help cover my flaws.

  7. I agree with several others and don’t like the R&F parts. I cannot afford them and not sure I would spend that much money on skin care products even if I could. I know I can skip over that part and I do, but it makes me wonder if some women are convinced to buy the products even if they cannot afford them. That said…..I love your blog, the ideas and choices for clothing, especially from affordable sites. Also love the stories about your life and family! Love the Sunday posts and the fact you are not ashamed to proclaim your faith. (That makes up for the fact of the part I don’t like). ?

    1. Judy, I am sorry that you are not a fan of the fact that I post about my skincare. I love R+F, and I used it before I ever started selling it, or posting about it. I only started posting because I was asked what I was doing. I do not EVER message anyone from the blog to try RF. I do not think that anyone is swayed to buy something they can’t afford because there is a money-back guarantee where they could send it back if they have buyers remorse. I do make a conscious effort to only post at the end of my blog so that women who are not interested can easily skip those parts. I am so glad that you love my Sunday posts and stories about my life and family. Thanks for being a faithful reader, and remember that I am still taking steroids, so I appologize if I am being overly sensitive.

  8. Do not change a thing. I love your blog because I can identify with you and your lifestyle. I also like that you wear affordable clothes. I’m a southern woman by the grace of God and a Christian. Mama always told me to take what I can use and leave the rest. It works for me. : )

    1. Thanks so much!!! I am like you, I cherry-pick my information when I read others posts, whether from a blog, Facebook, or instagram. I am so glad that you won’t change a thing.

  9. Love your blog. Would like to see more clothing that hides the belly(if hiding the belly is even possible lol)!

    1. Cindy, believe me, I try to hide the belly. That is one of my LARGEST flaws!

      1. Cindy Baker says:

Lol…If you have a large belly, you are doing a great job of hiding it. I will follow your lead in clothing 🙂

  10. You were one busy lady yesterday. I think I need some steroids ?.

    1. I enjoyed being busy! I wish that I had that much energy all the time.
