50 IS NOT OLD | THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE FOR FALL | FASHION OVER 40Well, gurls, I have an update to my steroid story from yesterday. But, before I tell you about that, let me tell you that there isn’t going to be a Friday with Friends blogger this week. I have several that are lined up, but no one could make this Friday work. Most bloggers (not me) have posts scheduled ahead of time, and there were conflicting matters. Oh well, stay tuned, they will eventually get to come and visit. Back to the steroid story; Joe has now decided that he LOVES me on steroids. He is even claiming that he is going to have to keep me on them for at least a month. Lol! Here is what happened today.
50 IS NOT OLD | THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE FOR FALL | FASHION OVER 40I slept okay, but I woke up early and couldn’t go back to sleep. I finally got up at 5:00 a.m., and started getting some work done. When Joe got up, I had already done all of my emails, comments, posting, sending out the blog on another server, etc. Then, I went into the bedroom and put a new bedspread and bed skirt on the bed. I gathered up four loads of laundry and started those. Loaded the dishwasher and started it before heading out the door to cook 3 pounds of bacon on the Blackstone Grill. I just got some bacon presses, and those things worked terrifically. I made a 7-layer salad, got all of the laundry put away, swept off the porches, and made some banana nut bread with Emersyn. Joe just kept shaking his head because I never cook…or even clean. Lol! I was still going strong at 10:00 p.m. I think that he would take the bad mood, but that seems to have left. Win, win on his part.
50 IS NOT OLD | THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE FOR FALL | FASHION OVER 40Can you see me? Haha! I recently found this cute camouflage dress while I was out shopping this week. I can’t decide if I like camo or not. There are days when I like the print, but then the next time that I see the print, I am not into the print at all. When that happens, I will try to purchase the products at a less expensive price. I don’t want to invest a lot of money into a trend or a print that I am not sure that I like. So, when I saw this dress at Cato Fashions for under 25.00, I thought it was worth the purchase. I love the swing style; it is flowy and comfortable to wear. Plus, I like the flattering deep scoop. I am wearing a large, and it fits fine. Here is the link.
50 IS NOT OLD | THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE FOR FALL | FASHION OVER 40The Dallin is a 2.5″ textured gold hoop earring. I love this style; it is so easy to wear with almost anything. I added these earrings because I thought it went well with my necklace. This is last month’s Posse, and it is not available for purchase this month. This month’s set is a mixture of spring and fall. I’ll upload the picture for you to have a look-see. The Posse is a subscription service that is 25.00 for one to three pieces of jewelry, and that includes shipping and taxes. It is a great deal to start getting Christmas presents; you could have four gifts bought before it rolls around. It ships monthly on the same day that you sign up, and you can cancel at any time. There are no enrollment or cancellation fees. Here is the link to the Posse.
50 IS NOT OLD | THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE FOR FALL | FASHION OVER 40I thought that adding cute booties to the look helped this look be more fallish in nature. These faux suede booties are a pair of my favorite boots, and I wear them all the time in the fall and winter. I love this fawn-like color, and these are very comfortable for a shoe with a heel. These are not very expensive either, especially since they are on sale. You can purchase these for 30.00! Here is the link.
50 IS NOT OLD | THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE FOR FALL | FASHION OVER 40Thanks for all of the comments yesterday. I enjoyed reading them! Let’s see if you can comment again. Today, I am looking for real answers. I am sure there are things you like about my blog and things you could do without. It is impossible to make everyone happy, but I like to think that I would keep an open mind if several of you all suggested the same thing. Maybe you don’t like hearing so much about my life, or maybe you would like me to do more posts about dresses, purses, etc. Maybe you think that I am practically perfect the way that I am. I look forward to reading your suggestions. (I think) Lol!

I always totally skip the R-F parts and wish it occupied less space on your blog. I thoroughly enjoy your life stories and your clothes.

    1. Thanks for reading my blog. I am glad that you enjoy my stories and my clothes.

  2. I follow a couple blogs. You are hands down my favorite! I love your real life stories.
Your clothes are fantastic and most importantly affordable. Love the jewelry and the shoes, even if your heels are too high for me.
It so good to know someone else’s life is sometimes a little crazy too.
    Keep your real life coming!

    1. Yay!!! I am glad to know that I am one of your favorites.

  3. First, I want to say I LOVE your life stories and the reasonably-priced, fantastic fashion you show on your blog. It’s the reason I began following you (and I coveted your short, asymmetrical haircut then too!). However, I would have to ditto the others who have commented about the R&F “selling” on your blog….It’s my least favorite part. I cannot afford their products. When I see all the lavish trips they provide their consultants, I have to wonder if the company would cut back on all that excess, then maybe they could lower their product prices and make everything more affordable for those of us who do not have the extra money to spend on expensive facial products. I understand that with R&F, It’s beneficial to get more people signed up on your team, so what better way than to push it on your blog that has a tremendous audience. I do skip past the R&F part as much as possible, but it still tends to annoy me. I miss the days of old where it was just about you, your funny family and friends, and fashion! Whatever happened to your two best friends from the lumber company? Did they retire too? I miss seeing your stories with them.

    1. Shirley, I am glad that you “maybe” enjoy the blog. Lol! I could explain how the products are more affordable than you think, but I am not trying to convince you. I never surprise my audience by posting about RF anywhere other than at the end of the post. I am sorry that annoys you.

  4. Love your blog. I look forward to it every day. I like to see what clothes you put together, (I actually wore red & blush together recently!) I’m always tickled to read your stories…especially “JOE” stories. I appreciate your Sunday posts very much. Sometimes it seems like you know what I need that day!
I’d sure like some of that energy!

Gimme some of those steroids you all love! I need some more energy! Tania, so many things I love about your blog! Just don’t love the jewelry! Would love to see something high-end or vintage, antique, or passed-down from your grandmother. I realize it’s a line you are selling, but I think fine jewelry elevates an inexpensive outfit just as much as a LV handbag or MK shoes! Love your outing Joe when he messes up! Keep up the good work!

The same thing happens to me when I am on steroids! But they also increase my appetite, ugh! You would look darling in a tow sack as my memaw would say! I appreciate you putting R&F at the end so we can always get your good stories at the beginning! Hope your respiratory infection gets cured.

    1. Julia, so far my appetite has stayed even, thank goodness! I have always tried to keep my R+F at the end of the posts, and I do not post about it EVERYDAY. I try to make it easy for those who are not interested but keep it for those who really want to see what the products are capable of doing.

If steroid medicine does that for energy I might need some too! I never like cleaning. Lol.
I love how you do your blog. Love the Sunday posts, and the fashion and specially like your stories. I do miss seeing your purses. And even some of your video blogs. I still remember the one where you let your granddaughter do your makeup! You are a patient grandma! But one of the things I like is that each day is different.

  8. I was on steroids 3 years ago for a REALLY bad case of poison ivy. My house was never so clean!! I flew around like a mad woman…but I also couldn’t sleep. My Dad used to say that steroids could make a dead man dance. I think I need a prescription to get my house clean…lol.
Love your blog, not crazy about camo.

  9. Ooops, forgot to throw in a “lol” about your steroid high! :). That’s identical to my experience. I had worked out, bought groceries and finished laundry before 8 am. Crazy 🙂

    1. Haha! I have never experienced a steroid high before. I would love to be able to keep that. Lol!

  10. I’ve only been a “member” for a few days and love your energy, sunny outlook, style and tips. Above all I love people who are passionate about what they do!! It shows!

Super cute dress and timely article on camo. I have a pair of skinny camo jeans and sometimes struggle with styling them. You’ve given me a few ideas already. I’m going to check out the jewelry site too.

    Keep it up girl 🙂
