The Perfect Shade of Lipstick For Women Over 50

If you’re reading today to find the perfect shade of lipstick for women over 50, you’re in luck! Why? Because ANY shade of lipstick is perfect for women over 50. Your lips don’t care if you’re 15 or 51! The perfect shade is whatever you like and looks good with your skin tone.

I LOVE lipsticks, and I like trying different colors. You don’t know until you try one on your own lips. I recently saw my sister at a wedding and loved her lipstick, but when I tried it on – bleh.

The following lipsticks are very affordable, with most being under ten dollars! They also come in a variety of shades. Throw a few in your basket and try something new.

Champagne on Ice

Not every lipstick needs to be bright! Nude lipsticks are universally loved because they are timeless and sophisticated. They also look good with almost every skin tone.

Tropical Coral

Coral lipsticks can be warm or cool. Fair skin with predominantly cool undertones looks best in soft shades of coral with a pink base. If you have warm undertones, try a soft coral with orange undertones.

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know that I love to wear red lipstick. The photo above was from 2018! There’s no telling how many tubes I’ve been through since then.

Red Radiance

I’m always amazed when I hear from women who don’t wear red lipstick. Give it a try, Gurls! It’s a great way to brighten your face, and it really does look good on everyone.

Chili

Are you a bright red gurl, or a deep red gurl? Uh, BOTH, please. 🙂 I may not wear red every day of the week, but I love it for special occasions.

Honey Brown

My sister is a definite brown lipstick wearer, and good news – it’s trending this year. Thanks to all of the TikTok users, brown lipstick and dark brown liner have gone viral. It’s VERY Summer, 2023. Now is the perfect time to try it.

Hustling Hot Mama

Pale pinks are similar to nude and tend to look very natural. I think it looks better on pale or fair-skinned women. Once I get a tan, I go for more vibrant colors.

This photo is even older than the one above! I was rocking hot pink in 2017, and I still love it.

Pink Promise

This pink is calling my name, and it’s under SIX DOLLARS. It’s a win/win, for sure!

Maybelline Super Stay Red, Red Wine

Last but not least, wine. I almost didn’t include this color because I think of wine as a Fall color, but then I realized it’s almost July, and Fall will be here before we know it!

Wine is a great color when you’re going for a dramatic look, such as an evening wedding or a fancy dinner party.

You know me by now. I’m all about trying new things and not letting age be a factor. The lipsticks featured here are very affordable. Buy your favorite, and try something new!

  4. I like the shade by Revlon called warm me up. However I am a cool tone and would like a lip stick in a nude or pink with cool under tones. would you have any suggestions for us cool under tone girls?

  5. Tania you look fabulous in red and hot pink lipstick. My fav red is ruby woo by Mac. A great nude by Mac is called velvet teddy. For me lip liner is key for making your lips pop. Thanks for the post. I’m putting the hot pink Revlon in my cart. Great summer color!!

  6. I am the opposite, I struggle to wear lipstick. I feel like a clown unless it is nude and even some of them are too much. I do like a good gloss but maybe will try a few new ones. Thanks

  7. I look best with coral lipstick with orange undertones. Years ago Cover Girl made a nude lipstick with a peachy undertone. I’ve been looking for that shade but can’t find one. I will check out your recommendations. If I like a lipstick shade I buy a lot and put them in the fridge because every shade I like eventually is discontinued.
