Do you ever feel like you have just got to recharge your batteries? You would think that after I spent last weekend in Georgia and went to the spa for a nice massage that my batteries would be nice and full. Evidently, that is not the case because I came home from work last night and fell asleep until 7:15 pm. I woke up almost in a panic that I didn’t go to the store and we had nothing to eat in the house, PLUS, I didn’t have anything written for the blog. It didn’t take long for my inner “Scarlett” to take over and before I knew it I was saying, “I’ll worry about going to the store tomorrow. We can scrounge tonight.” Lol!!! Poor, Joe.
After the stressful week at work, I am sure glad to see Friday roll around. Normally, I don’t pay much attention to what the day is but this week has really been a killer. I am not sure if you remember me telling you about my internet being out for about 2 weeks and I had to work by a hotspot of my phone. I am just thankful that I knew how to turn on a hotspot so that I could work. Anyway, we finally got that fixed even though it took two different technicians coming out to the house and replacing my modem and router. Here’s the thing, once all that got fixed my printer wouldn’t work.
Everyone needs to get away every now and then. My trip to Lake Oconee has provided some much need rest and relaxation. While relaxing was high on the agenda going out to eat for a nice dinner was even higher on the agenda. I knew we had dinner reservations on Saturday night and I was stressing over what to pack. I wanted to wear something that I hadn’t worn before and since I am traveling with a younger crowd I wanted to look really nice.
Today I got a new vacuum cleaner. That does not thrill me like it would some people. My Energizer Bunny Friend has a vacuum problem. She LOVES to vacuum, it is her therapy. I kid you not! She vacuums her house at least once a day and when she goes to visit friends they will “let” her vacuum their house to make her happy. 😳 Let’s just say that we are NOTHING alike in that regard. Lol! I do not like to vacuum my house much less anyone else’s house. Lol! But, I had to break down on Saturday and vacuum my house and the vacuum cleaner that we had was disgusting, stinky, and old.
I will be on the road again on Thursday. Does it seem like I am always going somewhere? I didn’t use to ever travel except for the occasional woman’s club meeting and to Tennesse for holidays and birthdays. Now, it seems like every time I turn around I am packing to go somewhere. This time it is a Spa trip to Lake Oconee in Georgia with 6 other Rodan + Fields ladies. I will be the oldest one there by probably 20 years. Whew! When you travel in the circles that I travel in (a younger crowd) you have to be confident and realistic. They keep me young and on my toes.
I am the kind of grandparent that will let their grandbabies do just about anything they want as long as they won’t get hurt doing it. So, Sunday night when Emersyn wanted to come over and play she gets to choose what we do. First on the agenda was a banana popsicle that she was thrilled I remembered to pick up at the store. Next was our coloring project which will take us months to finish because it is so complicated. Then she moved on to playing a version of Angry Birds on my phone which “she” downloaded herself. Lol! Then things got funny.
Have you ever had your car “hit” and laughed so hard that you thought you were going to pee on yourself? No? Am I the only crazy one out there? Let me tell you what happened. So, Thursday night I went to a corporate event with Rodan + Fields in Johnson City, Tennessee. There was a carload of us girls, including my Energizer Bunny Friend. I drove us to the event and when we got there the parking lot was crowded. I pulled my car into an open spot but when I pulled in I saw that it had a light pole in the spot. Since my car is long I figured that I should pull as close to the pole as I could so that I wouldn’t have my car sticking out any more than necessary.
I had a wonderful weekend just staying at home and playing on the computer. For some, that sounds like torture but for me, it gave me some time to “play.” I never get to just surf FaceBook or look on Pinterest. I post and then scurry off to do some other activity. Poor, poor, pitiful me. Haha! I spent the day trying to answer emails, comments, and watching tutorials. Because of that, you will have a new feature today.
When I have been asked, “Can you wear camo after 40?” I have to laugh. You can wear anything you want, no matter your age. I guess the correct question is, “will I look foolish, if I wear camo after I am 40?” Well, I am over 40, do you think I look foolish?
Today I chose a dress for my Memorial Day fashion statement. It is not often that I wear dresses. I am not sure why; they are quick, easy, and comfortable. There is only “one” item to pick out of the closet, instead of two, and all you have to add is accessories. But for some reason, unless it is church, I choose to wear something else.
