Sunday Riley Skincare: Are These High-End Products Worth It?

Y’all know that I’m a skincare junkie! I’ve tried so many brands over the years that I’ve lost count. But when I hear about a product (or, in this case, an entire line!) that promises to make my skin look younger, brighter, and smoother, you better believe I’m going to check it out. Enter Sunday Riley! This is a high-end skincare brand that everyone seems to be raving about. If you’ve been wondering whether Sunday Riley is just another overhyped beauty brand or a real game-changer, you’re in the right place because I’m sharing all the details!

SUNDAY RILEY SKINCARE FOR WOMEN OVER 50

Sunday Riley is one of those brands that has a serious fan base. Their products are known for blending powerful active ingredients, like retinol and lactic acid, with more natural, botanical-based ones. This means that they’re trying to give us the best of both worlds… science-backed results without frying our skin.

For women over 50 (yes, that’s us!), their products sound like exactly what we need. Dullness, fine lines, sun damage, and uneven texture are all things we battle as we age, and Sunday Riley promises to tackle those issues head-on. But we all know that promises and results aren’t the same thing, are they? Let’s take a closer look at some of their star products!

Sunday Riley’s Bestsellers: Are They Worth the Hype?

These are the products that beauty editors and influencers can’t stop talking about. But do they live up to the hype? Here’s my honest take:

1. Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment

Good Genes is Sunday Riley’s crown jewel, and y’all, people swear by this stuff! This lactic acid serum exfoliates your skin while hydrating it, so it leaves you with a smoother, brighter complexion. It also contains licorice root to help fade dark spots.

Why you’ll like it: As we get older, our skin doesn’t turn over cells as quickly, which is why it can look dull. This serum helps slough off the dead skin and can help to lighten up sunspots!

The downside: At $85 for a small bottle, it’s definitely an investment. But since you only need a little bit, it lasts a long time.

2. Sunday Riley Luna Retinol Sleeping Anti Aging Night Face Oil

Let’s talk retinol, ladies. Retinol is one of the best ingredients you can use to fight fine lines and wrinkles, but if you’ve ever tried it, you know it can really wreak havoc on your skin if you don’t use it in the right way! Fortunately, the Sleeping Night Oil delivers it in a gentle way that won’t harm your skin. Plus, it’s a gorgeous shade of blue (not that the color matters, but it’s kind of fun!).

Why you’ll like it: If you’re new to retinol or have sensitive skin, this is a great option. It doesn’t dry out your skin or leave you peeling, which is a common problem with stronger retinol.

The downside: The price—$105—might make you gulp, but considering how well it works and how little you need, I’d say it’s worth it if you’re serious about anti-aging.

3. Sunday Riley C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum

Vitamin C is a powerhouse for brightening skin and fighting off those pesky free radicals that cause damage. This Vitamin C Brightening Serum is thick, hydrating, and has a slight citrus scent.

Why You’ll like it: This serum helps your skin look brighter and more even after a couple of weeks. It’s especially good if you have dark spots or a dull complexion (hi, winter skin!).

The downside: 15% is pretty potent, so if you have sensitive skin, start slow and use it every other day.

4. Sunday Riley Auto Correct Eye Cream

Y’all, if you deal with dark circles and puffiness like I sometimes do, the Auto Correct eye cream might just become your new best friend. It’s packed with caffeine to de-puff and brighten the under-eye area.

Why you’ll like it: I’m not a morning person, and I have days when my eyes look tired. This cream works almost like a magic eraser for puffiness. Plus, it feels light and hydrating.

The downside: At $65, it’s not exactly budget-friendly, but a little bit goes a long way. I have the mini version, but I think I’ll be investing in the full-size bottle!

Is Sunday Riley Worth the Price Tag?

Here’s the big question: Are these fancy products really worth it? Honestly, it depends. If you’re serious about skincare and want to see real results, then yes, Sunday Riley is worth the splurge. Their formulas are packed with effective ingredients.

That said, if you’re just starting out or aren’t ready to spend this much on skincare, there are plenty of other great brands at more affordable prices (hello, The Ordinary!). But for those of us who want to invest in products that deliver, Sunday Riley checks a lot of boxes. If you want to try the Superstars, this set let’s you start out with smaller products, which is how I started out.

So, what do y’all think? Have you tried Sunday Riley before? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear your thoughts! And if you have any other skincare brands you’re loving right now, don’t keep them a secret. Sharing is caring, after all!

  1. Hi! Thank you for this post. My skin looks so dull, particularly in winter, so I’m interested in trying one or two of these products. Thank you for sharing information about it because I hadn’t heard of it either.

  2. Found it! I’ve been using the C.E.O. 15% Brightening Serum for a couple of years now. It really is a great and effective product, and if I run out for a day or two my skin feels different. I think it looks less “glowy” too. I try to buy it when I have an Ulta coupon that includes prestige brands to take the “sting” off the price!

  5. I absolutely adore Sunday Riley products. I use the Vitamin C, Good Genes, Auto Correct, and Vitamin C moisturizer cream every morning. I use the A+ Retinol, Luna Sleeping Oil, and Ceramide moisturizer cream every night. I do throw in a Shisheido eye cream at night with my Sunday Riley cause I love that eye cream. My daughter turned me on to Sunday Riley a couple of years ago and my skin has never looked so good.

    1. Wow! That is fabulous. I love hearing that you take good care of your skin.

  6. Found it! I just saw Sunday Riley on QVC for the 1st time and debated about trying it. I didn’t, but now I wish I did. They had a great offer with free products if you got it on auto-ship. Oh, well. I will try it next time they have a special offer with it.

    found it!!

I first discovered sunday riley with their auto correct. loved it so much that I started incorporating their other products and have never gone back. I use their vitamin c moisturizer and got compliments on my “glowing ” skin. I bought their day time kit for my daughter and DIL christmas before last and they raved about how soft and smooth their skin was. this past christmas i got them both the day and night kits and they were thrilled!

  15. Deborah M says:

Found it! Nice sounding products but above my price range!.

  16. Thank you for sharing skin care products of all prices. I was wondering if you still sell skin care products and do you use those or the ones you post? Thanks, I love your page.

  19. I have dark circles under my eyes. over the years I can’t even imagine the money that I have spent on every product that’s swears it will cover or get rid of my dark circles, and won’t settle into lines . I know that on one single product I’ve paid over $100 and saw absolutely no difference. To say that I am skeptical would be an understatement. I guess I need to actually know an older woman who has dark circles like mine and found something that really works for her before I invest. Maybe these places need to offer trial sizes.

    1. Louise, most eye products can help with puffiness, but dark circles are a different matter. I read once that dark circles could be a sign of a sinus problem, but I never read that anywhere else.

  20. I use Sunday Riley exclusively now. My skin has never looked
Better. I used to use R&F.
Sunday Riley is pricey but a few times a year there is a 25% off sale on their website. I grab everything when they have a sale. Their retinol A+ and The Luna pile work well together. I use them every other night and good genes on the opposite night and put the ice moisturizer on after right before sleep. I use the vitamin c and the afterglow moisturizer during the day. Best skincare I have ever used. Note I have dry skin but with Sunday Riley I am dry no more. The vitamin c oil really helps with brightening and moisturizing.

    1. Wow! You could do a sponsored post for them! Lol!

  21. Found it. I love Sunday Riley products. My skin looks amazing since using her products for about a year. Good Genes is the best. QVC offers great deals on her products.

  22. Found it. 🙂

I had never heard of Sunday Riley before. I doubt I will be trying them.

I did order CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum after you mentioned it on one of your posts recently. I have to say I do see and feel a positive change using it.
    Thanks for sharing great products.

  23. Found it!
Sunday Riley products look interesting. I have been using DRMTLGY for a few years and am thinking of trying something new.

  24. Judy Cheval says:

Found it. I absolutely love Sunday Riley products.. I have been using them for about a year and my skin looks amazing. I highly recommend every one of her products. QVC offers some very good deals on Sunday Riley. My friends are now using the products too.

  25. Love all Sunday Riley products…they really work and you can see the difference…a bit pricey for sure but worth it…if folks can only get one Good Genes is the one to use …it does last long and you can use it either morning or night instead of both.

    1. Thanks for the recommendation.

  26. Found it. I started out with the CEO oil for daytime, the added Luna and Good Genes. Now I’m using all those plus the eye cream. Definitely worth it to me. I’m 72 and my skin has never looked better.

  27. A little harder, but FOUND IT!!

  28. Debbie Goepper says:
