STYLING A MONOCHROMATIC LOOK IN TURQUOISE BLUE
The sky here in Georgia is almost as blue as the color of my outfit. Sky blue is one of my favorite colors, and the fact that it brings out the blue in my eyes might be the reason. Lol! So, my sister and I are taking a few days to visit, go shopping, and of course, work. We have both found that once we hit our 50’s, we have become workaholics. We sit outside on her screened in porch in the morning and discuss the day. She is my sounding board, and I love having her in my corner.
Did you notice that I changed my logo on the blog? I am working on updating and freshening up the look of the blog, and that is a long, tedious process. You have to have someone design a logo, pick out colors and fonts, and have it represent your style. I like bold colors, but those don’t work well for blog headers and logos, so I had to learn to compromise. To finally get to the stage where I have a design that I like has taken over a month. It was similar to building a house and having to pick out all of the paint colors and then having to pick out all the furnishings to coordinate. It is hard on the designer also, because she would send a design, and then I would want to change the colors in it five more times. More times than not, I would end up going with the original design. Lol! I am sure that she was ready to scream. Hahaha!
My bright turquoise v-neck tee is an old one that I bought a couple of years ago. When I find a style that I like in a “staple” item, then I will buy multiple colors. I liked the v-neck and the short cap sleeves, so I bought this top in white, navy, orchid, and this turquoise color. I think they came from Old Navy or Cato Fashions, but I can’t remember which one. Because I buy colors that I like, I find that I usually have something in my closet that will match them once I get home.
I have worn this set before, and I still love the entire thing. The red beads of the necklace, make it pop against the bright blue of the top. The Cole necklace also has gold disc dangles and a pendant that has a marbled turquoise center which is surrounded by crystals and a leopard print. The matching Garner earrings feature the same pendant, but there is no red on them. The brown leather “love” magnetic bracelet is called the Kellyjean, and the multi-colored elastic pull on bracelet with the leaf dangle is a part of the Randee set.
My shorts today are by Crown & Ivy. I love that brand, and I try to buy a couple of pieces from them each year. This year, I decided to stock up on several pairs of shorts. They have all different lengths to choose from, but mine is the 5″ inseam version. I loved the bright color and design of the Caroline classic short, and I am glad that they fit me when they arrived. I ordered my usual size 10, and they fit perfectly. These shorts are on sale, so click here for the link.
The wind has put an end to my pretty burgundy vase with my oversized gorgeous sunflowers. I need to find me another (much heavier) option for my sunflowers.
What the sun does to your skin, Rodan + Fields undoes. The sun’s rays make us feel good in the short term, but here’s the effect in adulthood of just a little unprotected UV exposure every day through the years.
- Pre-mature fine lines wrinkles
- Freckles
- Discolored areas of the skin known as mottled pigmentation
- Sallowness — a yellow discoloration of the skin
- Telangiectasias – the dilation of small blood vessels under the skin
- Elastosis –the destruction of the elastic and collagen tissue (causing lines, wrinkles and sagging skin)
If your skincare does not create transformation in 30 days, like the one in this photo (tight pores, even skin tone, glowing, not sallow skin, reduction of lines and dark circles) maybe it’s time to consider skin care with the medicinals to make a clear difference. Try Rodan + Fields’ REVERSE for Sun Damage or REDEFINE for aging skin. Both come with a 60-day money back guarantee, and as a PC you will enjoy free shipping and a nice discount. LOVE the new logo! Also, blue is definitely your color!
I am glad that you like the logo, Marie! Thanks, bunches.
I love the new logo. Pretty and feminine.
I like it too, Rebecca! Thanks for commenting.
Love the new logo! Sky blue also looks great!
Thanks, Lori!
LOVE your new logo ( I noticed immediately) and love your outfit (my favorite color). They definitely bring out the blue in your eyes ( I also have blue eyes). So sorry your vase blew over and broke. Thought the red was so pretty with the yellow sunflowers. Made them ‘pop’ and it really showed off your outfits! Have fun visiting your sister.
Sondra, thanks for noticing. Blue does look good on us blue-eyed girls!
Love the new logo!! Very feminine and pretty. Good job!!!
Thanks, Debbie. I think that I like it.
Great color on you! Put sand or rocks in the bottom of the vase to weigh it down and the wind won’t blow it over.
I know that I should have done that, Michelle. Lesson learned.
I love turquoise in the summer. It is so flattering! I never think to wear it the cold winter climate though. I also buy colours I love and know I’ll wear so there is almost always something that coordinates wirh other pieces in my wardrobe..
Your new logo is so feminine and pretty. Great choice.
Thanks, Susanne. I was worried because I am not all that feminine.
I didn t even notice the new logo until you mentioned it! I am ashamed! But it looks very good!
That is probably something that I stress over and most people won’t even notice.
Pretty blue. Pretty you!
Awww, you are too sweet, Kaye.
