Okay, ladies, who is ready to show off your legs? I know my Apple Shape gurls are, lol! Spring is the perfect time to bring out the skorts. These aren’t the gym class skorts of our youth. Today’s versions come with flattering waistbands, breathable fabrics, and practical pockets. Headed to brunch, the tennis court, or just running errands? A great pair of skorts gives you the freedom of shorts with the polish of a skirt. Here are my top picks for Spring Skorts for Women Over 50 that keep comfort, coverage, and cuteness top of mind.

Spring Skorts For Women Over 50

20″ Skorts For Spring

Similar Tech Stretch Tennis Tank (Large) | 20″ Knee Length Skort (Large) | Top Handle Straw Clutch | Two Strap Wedge Heels (Size 9.5)

This blue skort has zippered pockets to keep your valuables from accidentally falling out. I love the bright blue color and print, but more versions are available. This skort would be perfect for golf since it is a great length, has pockets, and is straight. The skort also has ball pockets in the shorts, which could hold tennis balls or a phone.

Sleeveless Woven Shirt (Large – Needed a Medium) | 20″ Knee Length Long Skort UPF 50+ (Large) | Green Woven Straw Clutch Bag | Two Strap Wedge Heels (Size 9.5)

I love the pleating detail on this skort! Little details like this make a massive difference in the look of an outfit. The pleats make the skort look dressier for an elevated casual look.

Leopard Sleeveless Woven Shirt (Large – Needed a Medium) | 20″ Black Knee Length Skorts (Large) | Top Handle Straw Clutch | Two Strap Wedge Heels (Size 9.5)

I love the flounce of this black skort! It creates a feminine look that would be great for a dressy occasion, but it would still work as a golf skirt. The skort has pockets that could hold tees or an extra golf ball, but I usually prefer a straight skort when golfing.

17″ Skort For Spring

17″ Relaxed-Fit Lightweight Crewneck T-Shirt (Large) | Active Performance Skort (Large) | Green Woven Straw Clutch Bag | Two Strap Wedge Heels (Size 9.5)

This is my favorite skort! I love versatile clothing, and this skort outfit could be worn for golf, tennis, or a date night. I love this print, and this length is my favorite for a skort. Longer skorts look dressy, but this length helps to make my legs look long and lean, and that’s what I want. This skort is also available in more colors and prints.

Air Essentials

No need to choose between shorts or a skirt with this skort from Spanx. It features built-in Booty Boost shorts that offer gentle compression and a hidden pocket for your phone. Plus, it’s made with UPF 50+ sun protection, so it’s perfect for all your spring activities. It’s made of soft Tencel modal blend, and the skirt has a lovely flow while the shorts underneath keep everything secure.

Lands’ End Active

This pleated skort is a great choice for days when you’re bouncing between play and errands. The full circle of pleats adds a fun flair, while the built-in shorts give you freedom to move. It’s sporty, flirty, and functional—with patch pockets in the inner shorts and a hidden waistband pocket. The polyester and spandex blend holds up well and still feels soft.

Cabana Life 17″

This 17-inch skort is perfect for hitting the pickleball court OR heading out for lunch. Made from a lightweight nylon and spandex blend, it’s breathable, wrinkle-resistant, and blocks 98% of UVA and UVB rays. That’s a lot of rays! Built-in shorts and two side pockets make it just as practical as it is pretty. It’s great for hot days when you want coverage and comfort without overheating.

CRZ Yoga Skort

If you’re looking for a skort that feels feather-light, CRZ Yoga has got you covered. This one is made for golf but works for everyday wear, too. It has a high waist, a flattering fit, and a bunch of pockets—two on the sides and extra ones in the liner. The feathery-fit fabric is weightless and quick drying, and it comes in 12 colors! It’s one of my go-tos for walking or just running around town.

Real Essentials Skorts

These knee-length skorts are perfect for Gurls who want a little more coverage. With a 20-inch length and a flared silhouette, they offer a modest fit that still looks stylish. The waistband gives just the right amount of tummy control, and the shorts underneath are made from breathable spandex fabric. They even come in a 3-pack—so you can keep one in your suitcase and one in your closet.

Sketchers Pickleball Skort

You don’t have to play tennis to love this one. This skort features a double-layer compression waistband, mesh inner shorts, and just the right amount of stretch. With a 16-inch skirt length and two exterior side pockets, it’s functional and stylish. Walk the neighborhood and feel put-together while still being comfy.

Linen Skort

If you’re looking for a polished skort to pair with a blouse or blazer, this one from Talbots is a winner. It’s crafted from soft linen, lined for a smooth fit, and features a side zip closure for a more tailored look. The 5.5-inch inseam on the built-in shorts gives you coverage, and the style is perfect for dressing up with wedges or keeping it casual with flats.

Balance Active Skort

This skort is sporty and cute with no-slip grip tape on the built-in shorts so they stay in place. The buttery-soft fabric feels amazing, and it wicks sweat like a champ. It has both a phone pocket and a tennis ball pocket—so whether you’re headed to the court or just want to stash your lip gloss, this one’s a multitasker.

Lightweight Woven Skort

The ditsy scallop print on this skort is just adorable. With a ribbed high waist, side hem slits, and front patch pockets, it’s equal parts cute and practical. The fabric is wrinkle-resistant and offers UPF 50+ protection, making it great for vacations, walks, or even patio dinners. Just toss it in your bag and go.

Skorts are the perfect warm-weather essential! They blend the best of skirts and shorts with breathable fabrics, comfy waistbands, and enough pockets to actually be useful. So, if you’re ready to stay cool, stylish, and covered this spring, go grab yourself a skort (or two).

It always surprises me when I see this style pop up every year. I only think of skorts for sport attire such as golf, tennis, or pickle ball. I think otherwise they go the way of Capri pants. Maybe good for some but not most. That being said, you look good in all of them.
