WHAT TO WEAR FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION THAT IS AFFORDABLE
Do you have a special occasion upcoming where you are wondering what to wear? I don’t have many “special occasions” throughout the year, but I usually have one or two, and I like to have something fun to wear. For my upcoming trip to California, I’m going to show you how to wear a jumpsuit for a special occasion.
On one of the nights of our trip is a Flamingo-themed event. Everyone is encouraged to wear pink, so I decided to rock the Barbiecore trend. Do you think they will see me coming??? Lol!
Since I only have one or two special occasions a year, I don’t want to spend a fortune on my outfits. They will hang in my closet for a long time between wears, and I don’t like to see my dollars not being worn. I thought I would show you the gorgeous Strapless Wide Leg Jumpsuit I bought, sure to get compliments. The color is vibrant and perfect for the Flamingo event, even if it doesn’t have feathers. Lol!
I’m wearing a large, and most reviews said the jumpsuit ran small. However, I think the suit is too big for me, so I’m ordering a medium and will then decide which one I will keep. The jumpsuit comes in many different colors, and since it is under $32, I won’t mind if I don’t wear it often.
Special Occasion Accessories
I just ordered this adorable Fringe Clutch, and I think it is one that I will wear with many different outfits, not just for a special occasion. However, I just went to grab the link, and the dang clutch is already sold out! Can I pick them or what??? However, I’ve been on a pink kick lately, and I’ve ordered SEVERAL pink handbags, so I’ll link to those instead.
If you like the vintage look of an acrylic handbag, check out this one.
I went full-out Barbiecore with this special occasion outfit, so I accessorized it with a pair of old straw drop earrings and a pair of hot pink pumps I’ve had for years. Here are a few fun pink accessories that I think you will love.

Wow! What. a knock-out color for that jumpsuit! Just gorgeous. Gone are the days I’d wear something like that though. Love the fringe clutch and the selection of pink earrings. I love anything pink and this pink is so great for summer!
Love it, dressy but doesn’t break the bank! The bright color is such a nice alternative to the typical black option.
Absoultely LOVE the jump suit on you. I really like your hair off your face too!
You look great in the bright pink! I’m wonder what you will use as a wrap, if it’s chilly. The handbag is perfect! Nope, they won’t see you coming 😂.
I’ve been wondering about a wrap too.
WOW!!! I love the jumpsuit! I’m self conscious about my crepey arms. But I see cute things like this and I want to just go
with it! We are going on a Mediterranean cruise end is September. This would be a fun outfit.
Joan, my arms are dry and crepey too, but do you think most people even notice? NOPE!!!
Love the pink jumppsuit on you!! I so appreciate your blog, writing style, fashion sense, diverse price points, and your sense of humor, gratitude, and faith. Thank you.
Wow! Vickiy, that is the way I like to start a morning!!!
Love the accessories. Love dressy jumpsuits, but this one is way too boxy for my taste
I think it will look better belted, plus a smaller size.
That should be a great outfit for the themed event. Have fun on your trip….do you roll your clothes when packing to avoid the wrinkles. I do a modified version and I think it does helps.
Robin, I roll some, but I always carry a steamer with me for the wrinkles. Here is the one I use: https://amzn.to/3bT7CDo
Love the color! Something about the top of the jump suit I don’t care for. I think because I’m a little busty.
Have a great time!
Maribeth, I was thinking just the opposite. It would show the difference in the top and bottom if you are more busty. Mine just flows together.
I love the acrylic purses. I am happy that they are coming back.
