50 IS NOT OLD | SMALL WARDROBE STYLE CHALLENGE FINALLYI am sorry that I didn’t have a post for you gurls yesterday. I probably misphrased my problem, I wasn’t sick, I was just plain exhausted. I went to a birthday dinner for my BFF, Sandy, and I got home around 8:30-8:45. I was in bed by 9:00, I was just so tired I couldn’t hold my eyes open. ?? I sound like a big baby, oh you poor little-tired thing. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | SMALL WARDROBE STYLE CHALLENGE FINALLYI think I need to start taking vitamins again. I don’t know why I have gotten out of that habit, but it is one I need to pick back up. I felt so guilty for not writing the blog, at least for the 3 1/2 minutes it took me to fall asleep. Joe came into the bedroom and woke me up to ask me if I had done my blog post. I might have been a little grouchy as I said I had taken care of it. He knew there was no way that I had written a post after I got home, but he didn’t push the matter. 50 IS NOT OLD | SMALL WARDROBE STYLE CHALLENGE FINALLYI know you were waiting to see the latest version of my small wardrobe style challenge. Today I went with the “Mom on the Go” look. This is a look for anyone who just wants to pick up the kids from school, run to the store, or go meet a girlfriend for lunch. Casual but still stylish is what this look says to me. I added a denim jacket from Old Navy over the gray sweater. This keeps me warm in the early mornings and in those freezing restaurants, but I can take it off when it warms up as the day goes on. A denim jacket is one of the “must” haves for your wardrobe. It is so multi-functional and it is very trendy. You take 10 years off your age just by putting on a denim jacket.

50 IS NOT OLD | SMALL WARDROBE STYLE CHALLENGE FINALLY How do you like this new necklace? This fits so well with today’s post for a good reason. I have taken the Tabitha necklace and added the Pray pendant to the necklace to transform the look. The Tabitha necklace can be worn long or you can wear it short. There is a lobster claw on the Tabitha pendant so that you can add your own charm, and there is a lobster claw on the chain so that you can latch on to the pendant to wear the necklace shorter. I took both of those lobster claws and attached to the Pray pendant for a completely different look. Here is another way I wore the Pray pendant as a bracelet.50 IS NOT OLD | SMALL WARDROBE STYLE CHALLENGE FINALLYI bought these bracelets on my trip to Las Vegas. I did not buy anything else for myself while I was out there, but I did want something from the trip to keep. I am not really into t-shirts, so I didn’t want on of those, but you all know I love jewelry. These are by Alex and Ani. I chose one that had the famous Las Vegas sign on it, one that is called the Endless Knot, and one that is called the Key To Life. The Endless Knot represents wisdom, compassion, and destiny, qualities I could use. The Key To Life represents breakthrough, destiny, and creativity. The card with the bracelet said, “Life is a series of experiences, leading us on a path that ultimately defines us as individuals. When we realize we have the power to unlock our destiny, we hold the key to life. Use positive, conscious thinking and the decisions you make will express your personal power.”50 IS NOT OLD | SMALL WARDROBE STYLE CHALLENGE FINALLYGoing casual meant I needed to bring out the Converse sneakers. I love this gray pair with the cute little polka dot tongue. These are the perfect knock around town shoe. Comfortable and stylish, and just like the denim jacket, they take 10 years off your age.50 IS NOT OLD | SMALL WARDROBE STYLE CHALLENGE FINALLYYou need to check out the other small wardrobe challenge posts. Here, Here, and Here. I am curious to see which outfit you liked the best. Please leave me a comment about what you thought about this challenge. This was my way of showing you how to shop your own closet. Just because you wore a shirt with a pair of pants once doesn’t mean it has to be worn that way again and again. I have one more idea of styling this differently, but I haven’t taken any pictures. Let me know if you want one more style, or if you are ready to move on already. 13. I’ve been admiring Your Plunder collection for quite some time. I also need a jewelry refresh. I was thinking about signing up as a consultant and building a plunder collection. But honestly I’m not interested in selling. Can you email me with some advice including where I might find what’s included in the three offerings that are available for new consultants? Thanks.

    1. I’ll email you Kerry.

  14. Lynn Higginson says:

  15. Beverly Taylor-Price says:

Going to have to get the Tabitha necklace and add my PRAY pendant.. Love it!

    1. I like the pray pendant on the necklace even better than I do on the Tylie bracelet.

  16. Catherine says:

Love this outfit and I have all the pieces so I am going to copy you next week for casual Friday. Glad you got rest, exhaustion and sick aren’t too far apart. I enjoy your blog everyday, thanks for your work on this.

  18. Yes for another outfit, how creative you are! Sounds like you got some much needed rest and we all need that now and then, we have to take care of ourself. Looking forward to more outfits, so I know how to be stylish when I go out,lol

  19. One more outfit please! Get some rest this weekend!

    1. No rest this weekend, but I will do one more outfit! Lol!

  20. Kelly Rudie says:

I’m happy your rested. I would like to see one more outfit. I love your Converse!!

  21. You are rockin this outfit girl! I love it. I have Chuck Taylors in just about every color. Due to arthritis in my feet I had to retire the high heels and chuckies are just so cute and definitely make a statement. Adorable!

    1. I have never been a sneaker kind of girl, but I like the look of converse. Occasionally I wear high heels too much, so I will pull out my Converse for a day or two.

  22. Carolina Middle Girl says:

So much creativity! You have me standing in my clothes closet considering possibilities and future purchases! Thanks

    1. That makes me smile. That is exactly how I pick out outfits! Haha

  23. Sorry I caused you to miss your post, but thank you for being my BFF and taking me to my party! I have a denim jacket so I am set. Love you girl!!!!

    1. I think is has been all the traveling lately that finally caught up with me, not the party. Lol! I had a great time, and can’t wait for us to party tonight.

  24. Loved this week’s series for getting into the winter wardrobe, such great ideas. You have inspired me to get more inventive in my wardrobe and out of a rut. Blessings!

    1. It has forced “ME” to be more inventive, Misty. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, Haha

  25. I think everyone needs an early to bed night now and then. You have to listen to your body! I enjoyed the series and would love to see you do this with just one piece. It is still in the 80’s around here but thanks for reminding me I have a denim jacket. I hope I can wear it soon!

    1. It is going to be back close to 80 this week too. It looks like one more outfit needs to be on the agenda. Lol!

  26. One of my favorite looks. This is definitely me. You are a smart woman to rest, this happens to all of us. You should take 1 day off a week without blogging . We would understand!

    1. Believe it or not, it stressed me out not to post. Lol!!! I am now addicted to posting and waiting for all of your comments ?

  27. Lanita Anderson says:

Love this outfit – I was thinking you might add a denim jacket….mainly because I’m a “jacket girl” and love jackets!! 🙂 I love this look…..although I would probably wear the flats with it, instead of the tennis shoes. I liked all of the outfits and variations, but I liked this outfit and the one that included the scarf, the best. Please, please do another variation!! Also, I would love to see another series, showing more tips on shopping my closet and using what I already have on hand.
Glad you were able to rest and “recharge your batteries”….enjoy the rest of the weekend! Blessings to you!

    1. Good guess, Lanita! I am a jacket girl myself. I like that they add warmth and definition. I have a stick type figure, so I can use all the help in making curves that I can get.

  28. Thanks for putting this outfit together. I just turned 60 (gasp!) and I take care of my 3yo granddaughter most days. My daily activities include preschool pickups, gymnastics, library story time,,,,you get the idea. I need a comfy shoe with a solid foundation for those times when she insists on being carried. I don’t typically wear sneakers — but your gray converses look awesome!!!

I started following your blog while I was surfing for outfits for a trip to Spain. Now, I’m addicted to attempting to ‘copy’ your styles. Not exactly of course — just in ‘theory’. LOL I agree that the jean jacket does wonders for an outfit — thanks for inciting me to pull mine back out of the closet.

Hope you are feeling better and rested. God bless.

    1. Terrie, that sounds like a wonderful day. I love it when I have little Miss Emersyn over, but she sure can keep me running. I don’t usually wear sneakers either, but these are “stylish” sneakers, so they don’t count. Lol!

  29. One more outfit please! I have a tendency to wear the same items together and I need some fresh ideas. I have little time to spend planning what to wear. Take care of yourself! I find I need more rest than I used to and a good nights’ sleep is the best thing to rejuvenate me and give me the energy to eat well and exercise. My life hasn’t slowed down over 50, only got busier!

    1. I have gotten busier too, Janet. This is crazy! I do get a good nights sleep most of the time, but I think all the traveling has finally caught up with me.

  30. Love how you have completely changed the look four times. And YES to one more outfit. Hope that counts as two votes!!!!

    1. There has now been several yes votes, Sidney. Looks like I need to pull out the sweater and pants again. Hahaha

  31. Patti Collins says:

Love this post! I was able to link back to all of the different outfit combos you created with the top and pants, so it was great to see them all.
Perfect post today because I have a jean jacket that I keep meaning to exchange for a smaller size. But I see you wearing it over the sweater, as well as wearing the plaid jacket over the sweater, so can you tell me if you buy jackets on the large side so they will fit over sweaters? I’m just really on the fence as to keeping the larger size or getting a smaller one.

Plunder – I posted a question about it before but I guess you didn’t see it. Could you inbox me with details on doing a party? Or what the cost is to be a consultant and what the commission scale is? I just didn’t see any of that info on their site.

    thanks again, loved the post!!

    1. If you want to wear a jacket over a sweater I usually go up one size. The biggest thing you need to watch for is the sleeve size. The added bulk from the sweater makes the sleeves fit tight, so be sure to check that part out.

I’ll email you the details about Plunder, I am sorry I didn’t see your earlier comment.

  32. Catherine Hampton says:

I always want to wear a denim jacket but I don’t buy one because I always wear dark denim jeans (versus other color jeans like the maroon ones you are wearing). I can’t stand it if the denim doesn’t match (which it never does) and I don’t think it would look right either if it did match. What do you think, can you wear denim jacket with denim jeans?

    1. I know what you are talking about, Catherine. I have always been the same way and even now when I wear my jean jacket it is usually with a different colored pant. However, I have noticed other stylists wearing jean on jean, and the colors are never the same. If I did that, then I would make sure the colors are really different so that it didn’t look like you were trying to match. A dark jean and a light jacket, for example, would work great.

  33. Pauline Leger says:

I really enjoyed the “Style challenge” posts.
    My favorites were:
-the lace camisole showing and the pointed grey shoes,
-the jeans jacket with the the converse.
    Have a wonderful restful weekend.

    1. Thanks Pauline. It looks like everyone has enjoyed this challenge. I may have to do another challenge soon.

  34. I think most women push themselves too hard and sometimes just need some downtime so I am glad you just listened to you body. I love the demin jacket. I love the length of the necklace with the outfit. I think you should do a challenge with just one item not two. I think it probably would had more different looks. Love reading your blog each morning. Hope you have a great weekend.

  35. It is good to rest , you know!!! Love this outfit! Especially the denim jacket( one of my favorite fall pieces) and that absolutely beautiful necklace! You always look so very put together, and beautiful. Thanks for reminding us that we can shop our own closets (haha) a pretty cheap shopping trip, I might add. And that we can restyle things we already have to greatly expand our wardrobe. Your are a smart cookie, Tania, and you have beautiful skin to boot! Have a blessed Saturday

    1. Wow, Debbie, you give some really good compliments!!! You will notice that I have a lot of old clothes in my blog posts, I just keep adding newer items to refresh their looks.

  36. We all need to recharge our batteries now and then, I’m glad that you listened to your body. I think I like today’s outfit best of all, I like the denim jacket and the turn ups on the pants and I just LOVE Darth Sidious!! ?

    1. Caroline, I didn’t know the name of the character, I had to look up who you were talking about.? My niece, Rachel, would not be happy with me, she is a Star Wars aficionado.

  37. Connie R. says:

Glad you got your rest. I vote one more styling with outfit. I think this has shown me I don’t always need something new. Just a change up. Got my earrings yesterday so cute! I received Rodan and Fields samples too. My favorite was the lip serum. I will be making birthday and Christmas wish list. I have a birthday that month so now is a good time to put hints out or heck go buy it myself! LOL Enjoy weekend. We are still having 80 degree weather. Not fall yet but a lot of fall activities going on. May have to check out fall shopping today.

    1. Thanks, Connie, I did get some rest. I am glad you liked your earrings ? I hope you liked your other purchases too. I really like the lip serum too, I can tell the difference in those horrible pursed lip wrinkles 🙁 Start making your birthday list and post it on the refrigerator. Hahaha
