RUFFLES, FLORALS, AND BRIGHT COLORS, OH MY!

Happy day before Mother’s Day! I was supposed to be at my mother’s house this week, but do some issues; our trip had to be put on hold for a couple of weeks. My sister will be joining me there, and I am taking her shopping while we are together. If you remember, she tells me that she can’t find “anything” to wear, and I am out to prove her wrong. I’ve even ordered a dress for both of us to wear, and she hasn’t even seen it yet, but I am going to show it to all of you.

Today’s post was supposed to be a try-on session. I took a TON of photos with lots of different tops, dresses, and these jeans. But, I didn’t get to start on this post until late, so we will show the rest of the items on Monday. For today, it will only be this incredibly gorgeous flutter sleeve top and these white boyfriend jeans.

I loved the print and the colors of this top, but I wasn’t sure that I would like the sleeves. I was afraid the flutters (aka ruffles) would be so large that I would look like I was trying to take flight.

The sleeves help to create curves for me since I am built like a ruler. The extra width at the shoulders makes my waist look smaller, and that’s a good thing. For those with broad shoulders, this might not be the look that you want.

Speaking of extra width at the shoulders, have you noticed that shoulder pads are coming back in style? I wonder if Joan Collins still has all of her outfits with the shoulder pads. Lol!!! I don’t mind a small amount of padding, but the linebacker shoulder pads are a little much. Guess which ones are trending! YIKES!

I do have on a small amount of jewelry, even though I could have gotten away without wearing a necklace. The multi-strand necklace is part of the Davis necklace, which has one more strand. I love how versatile this necklace is since you can un-attach one or more strands and create a different look each time. I am also wearing my AVI large gold hoops and the Natalie hinged bangle bracelet.

I am wearing a size large in this top, and I think that it fits me great. It isn’t too tight through the bodice, which is sometimes the issue with this style of top. The biggest shocker is…it is in stock for all sizes right now. However, you know how fast that can change, so don’t wait to place your order. BTW, it is $30.00 off right now!!!

These white boyfriend jeans are new, and I actually like the way that they fit. I have bought boyfriend jeans before, and they were so baggy that they looked sloppy on me. That was several years ago, and I’ve been buying girlfriend jeans instead. Evidently, the retailers have revamped the boyfriend silhouette because these are my regular size 10, and they fit great!

You will see these jeans more on Monday with other tops, but I am pleased with this pair. They are a mid-rise pair, and they have a 26″ inseam on the misses version.

My sneakers are Sperry Crest Vibe, and I sized down to an 8.5 instead of my usual 9 in these.

Here is the dress that I’ve ordered for my sister and me to try on once we get together. With Mother’s Day sales on dresses, this one is almost completely sold out, and I am not surprised.

Lucy Lu seems confused by me taking photos. She watched me the whole time and never left my side, even when I was changing clothes.
