50 Is Not Old| Red and YellowI have often wondered if red and yellow go together. I have seen mustard and ketchup together in my plate, and they seem to get along fine. However, I have never worn the two colors together. Is anybody else craving a hotdog right now? haha
50 Is Not Old| Red and YellowI am still unpacking from our vacation. I have finally gotten the suitcases unloaded and the clothes all washed. I will admit that the house is still a wreck, but I am making a little progress. I need a vacation to get over my vacation. Lol!
50 Is Not Old| Red and YellowThis cable knit sweater is one that I bought from Old Navy several years ago. I have never worn it much, because it is heavy and short. Since it is heavy, I think it makes me look bulky. Who wants to look bulky, other than football players? Here is a similar one that doesn’t look as bulky.50 Is Not Old| Red and YellowWhile I was shopping in Orlando, I bought this scarf from Express. The reason I bought the scarf was because of the yellow accents. They are subtle and a little hard to see, but I was wearing a pair of yellow capris, and it really looked great. Here is a scarf from Target that is a beautiful shade of green and yellow.50 Is Not Old| Red and YellowThese ankle length pants were purchased at GAP. I knew that I planned on wearing red this week, so these pants caught my eye. I like the fit, the length, and the color. I can see wearing these with navy, black and white, and even pink. What other colors would you wear with red? Here is a pair that is pretty similar. I have on a pair of flats that are at least 3 years old. They are by Kathy Von Zeeland, and I bought them at the OVC outlet. They are my go-to shoe for the summer, and I wear them a lot. They are starting to look a little worn though. 50 Is Not Old| Red and YellowI don’t have on a lot of jewelry. My Michael Kors watch, a pair of earrings by Chloe and Isabel, and a bracelet from Stella & Dot is all I put on. The scarf is the star of the show, so I let it shine. I debated back and forth on what purse I should carry. I was afraid the red in the pants and purse wouldn’t look good together. I ended up deciding on the Dooney & Bourke because I liked how it looked on my shoulder. Here is a similar one on Ebay.
50 Is Not Old| Red and YellowI think that all of you should wear red with me this week. It is not that hard, you can wear a red shirt, scarf, cardigan, necklace, shoes, or carry a red purse. Red is energizing and helps with confidence. It also stimulates the appetite, so stay away from the buffet. Haha

  1. I am checking out some of your older posts while watching basketball. Red and Yellow work, one of the local high schools have red/yellow for their school colors. I LOVE the chunky gold sweater, it looks cozy and warm. (

  2. Christine says:

I love red and yellow together. Gurl you are looking fabulous, have you lost weight? Hope you don’t mind me asking.

    1. Christine, I am THRILLED you asked. Haha I HAD lost some weight till we went on vacation and it somehow must have got packed in my luggage to make the trip back with me. I am working hard to send those 5 pounds back to Florida. Lol!

  3. Tania you inspire me daily. And also find myself asking “would Tania wear (or buy) this?”

  4. I think your red and yellow combo is cute. I’ve put red & yellow together before on occasion.

Thank you for your focus on heart health. I understand the February focus is mostly on women and I’m wearing red almost all month, as much as I can. When my husband was 36, he had a quad bypass. Our youngest was 6 at the time. It was not anything I was ready for. He did not have a heart attack and was not anyone you would have thought had issues (nonsmoker, social drinker, athletic). It was congenital and it is by God’s grace that he did not die on a basketball court in high school or college. So, heart health is very close to our family. Our son is co-chair of the American Heart Association Bear Bryant Award dinner event and fund raises for AMA all year long. (Clemson’s Dabo Swinney won this year’s award, btw.) Since that surgery at 36, my now 53 year old husband is healthy. He’s had a few other procedures along the way. I thank God every day that he’s still here to irritate me, make me laugh, and take care of me.

    1. Thank the good Lord that your husband is now alive and well! I remember 20 or more years ago, I saw a Blondie cartoon where Blondie was so irritated because Dagwood was snoring every night and she couldn’t sleep. The next day she spoke to a friend who recently lost her husband. That night it shows her husband snoring, but it had turned to musical notes. They maybe irritating, but we sure don’t want to lose them???

  5. Ketchup ~n~ Mustard- love it! Stacia mentioned above about gravitating toward more bold colours as we, ahem, ‘ferment like fine wine’ (HA!) and I find that to be true too! I just bought a mustard sweater yesterday and was going to pair mine with a more neutral cami and bold spring floral scarf- I would never have gone that bright 10 yrs ago!
Happy Fat Tuesday to all!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

    1. I love the “like fine wine” comment. Maybe that’s why some of my outfits look like I was drunk when I dressed. Lol

  6. Today is Mardi Gras and I’m meeting friends for a fun lunch. I find myself thinking “What would Tania wear?” …WWTW? So I found a bright purple shirt in my closet with black pants, silver jewelry, silver flats, and a great purple Coach purse…and we’re all wearing Mardi Gras beads. Of course I painted my nails last night with metallic purple, except for the index fingers are metallic green. Should be fun!!!

    1. I wonder if we can get a bracelet with WWTW made up? Hahaha

  7. I’ve never worn red and yellow together but it looks great on you! I love the color red it is my favorite color. You always brighten my day!

  8. Scarves are great for pulling different color combinations together!

  9. Sheree Ozier says:

Love the red and mustard colors together!!! I like to decorate with the combo too!!! It’s happy!
I like red and purple together it has a bit of richness to it. I do wonder about the open toed shoes, and love them BTW, but it’s frigid here in Memphis, TN. and all can think about are boots.
Looking forward to the next blog! Thanks again!

  10. Love red pants but never thought to put mustard with it. Years ago I remember seeing a Seventeen Mag (I said it was years ago? More like half a century!) spread that featured red and yellow with the headline ‘catch a feller’. Didn’t work for me then! Yellow, mustard, gold is one of my colors; trying to pay attention to which colors look best on me; so I have accumulated a few shirts, sweaters in this hue. Will try it with red now. You are an inspiration!

  11. I love red pants! Always have! The star of the show (your scarf) gives the mustard sweater a great supporting role in your outfit! I’m thinking I’ll try a mustard colored scarf with red pants & dark top. I’ll just have to be careful I don’t end up looking like I’m working at at burger joint. lol I like red & deep purple together. Red & gray look neat mixed too. ???

    1. I hope nobody tries to order a burger and fries! LOL!!!

  12. Red and yellow? Why not? Depends on the shades and you chose well. Looks good on you and the scarf adds a nice touch. Look forward to reading your blog. Have a fabulous day.

    1. Thanks Michele. ??? Get it? Everything coming up roses…..

  13. I love unusual color combinations! Your outfit is perfect. In the winter I combine red and brown…makes me think of chocolate covered strawberries! Love your scarf. Keep sytlin’!

    1. I paid chocolate with pink, but I don’t know if I have paired it with red. Thanks for the tip. Now I want chocolate covered strawberries?

  14. Take your time cleaning that house, this blog is more important! Lol! We gurls love seeing what you are up to and styling! Absolutely, that scarf is a winner!

    1. Oh, Toni, I like the way you think. I’ll have to tell my husband you said I could take my time. Hahaha

  15. I like this look for you and thanks for wearing red to raise awareness of heart disease. I love the mustard colored sweater but would probably have paired it with navy pants or dark blue jeans. And with the red pants I would haved paired a navy sweater. That’s just me, but you look fab in the bold red and yellow. I’d come help you straighten up your house, but I’ve got to clean mine- I’ve been procrastinating for days! Just ease into it! Because of your infuence i am wearing a red plaid shirt today!

    1. Cindy, I agree with you. Normally I would wear the navy with both the mustard and the red. But, when I saw the scarf, I decided to step outside my comfort zone a little. Sometimes it is better to stay in your zone. hahaha

  16. I have always liked red and yellow together. There’s a line in Ellen Tebbits–a children’s book by Beverly Cleary where a boy makes a comment “red and yellow, catch a fellow” when his teacher wears red shoes with a yellow dress. I read this book when I was in third grade and I still think of that when I see outfits with red and yellow. I like the color combo…it makes me smile and the older I get, the more bright colors I wear.

    1. Stacia, I wish I had read that book! I may still have to look it up. What a cute saying?

  17. I think I like red and yellow together, I’ve known people who have put the two together and I think it looks great. I myself have never worn the two, but thanks to how you’re styling it together with a scarf, I think I might. Thanks again for the great ideas on fashion!

    1. Don’t worry Penny, I would not have worn them together if I hadn’t found the scarf. I DO wear mustard with maroon, and that is just a darker shade of red.

  18. I love that you’re wearing red for heart awareness. It’s also cute for Valentine’s day. Your scarf is so pretty! The pants and sweater are cute, but I don’t think I’d wear that color combination. But , that’s me. I do like bold colors, but if I wear one bold color, I tend to tone my other color choices down. Again, that’s just me!
    Have a great week!

    1. I wear bold colors often, but this is not a color combination I would normally wear. I’m not sure I will again, but you never know till you try. ?
