REAL AND HONEST
When I first started this blog I never envisioned that anyone would ever find it much less actually follow me. I really thought in the back of my mind that it would serve as a lookbook. I would be able to take pictures of my outfits and rate them on how well I liked them. I would have a visual reference for outfits I wanted to replicate and for “those” others that would never see the light of day again.
Guess which category this outfit would be in. This would go in the never to be replicated again pile!!! Some of the first comments I received when I first started were things like “your a real person.” I didn’t understand what that meant at first because all the bloggers are “real” people. Then it finally dawned on me what you were saying, you were saying that I am normal, I make mistakes, I am not a Stepford Wife. You would be right, I work every day so the outfits you see me in are the ones I wore to work that day. I don’t have the luxury of taking my pictures and then editing them right then. I edit them when I get home and there are many times when I wish I had a re-do. However, it is too late by then and I have a post to write. You will occasionally get a sour note if you follow my blog but then you probably are already aware of that. Hahaha
I’ll just go ahead and jump into what I don’t like about this outfit. I don’t like the sweater! In fact, I didn’t like the sweater when I had it on so I have no idea why I didn’t change it then. I must have just been stubborn. I don’t like the color and I don’t like the band at the bottom. But none of that matters now because I wore the stupid thing. I am not even going to tell you where you can buy one like it. Lol!
I do like the infinity scarf but I didn’t notice that I didn’t have it pulled together good. I don’t like the separation between the two layers so that you can see the sweater. This scarf in a dark burgundy and it has little puckers all over it. I bought the scarf last year at Cato’s but here are some that are similar and not one of them is over 14.00.
The camel colored pants are Old Navy Pixie pants. These are the longer length version but it wouldn’t matter since I paired them with my knee boots. I wear cropped pants and ankle pants with knee boots, that way I get more wear out of my purchases.
I bought my quilted vest last year from a little boutique up the road. I looked back to where I wore the vest last year (here) and was shocked when I read that it had a hood that I had detached. What? I didn’t even remember that it had a hood. Lol! The vest is fur lined, which I love, and that helps to keep you warm. The olive color and the leather accents are really in style right now.
I am thankful that you have chosen to follow me on my blog journey. I may not always “hit it out of the park” but I will always show you affordable fashions that you can replicate for yourself. I am a “real” person and I will show you the good, the bad, and the ugly. Haha! At least you know I am honest.

I consider you a “real” blogger and what I mean by that is honest and genuine. You disclose the fact you may get a commission from links to products. You don’t come across as someone who only cares about profiting from her readers. You come across to me as relatable and yes, you help us realize being fashionable is possible regardless of age or income. So bravo! Keep it coming.
I don’t think I consider you a “real person” because you make mistakes. I think it is because most of your outfits are appropriate for my lifestyle and you enjoy looking for bargains. I also like that you are active with the community and your family and friends. I am jealous you have time to take a picture every day. I am always running out the door, trying not to be late! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to following you in the New Year.
Kandi, I am always running late too. I have my camera on a tripod beside the door and I grab it as I go out. I set the timer and it takes 5 pictures at a time. I take 10 from a distance and 10 closer ones. I cross my fingers that I will be able to use one or two and head off to work. When I get home and look at the pictures I am usually in for a surprise. Lol!
Hi Tania!!
I’m continuing to enjoy your blog. I look forward to your smart, witty words and your awesome sense of fashion!
One day I’d love to start one myself ?
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year my name twin! ?⛄️?
Hi Tania – i recently found your blog and I have enjoyed spending time with you. You are very relatable and I love how you express your creatively through fashion. I try to do the same and always enjoy seeing and sharing new style ideas and color combinations. You are so right that we have to have a sense of humor about life. Wishing you and yours a happy holiday season -enjoy your family time.
I think you always look like a doll. I like some outfits better than others, but who doesn’t? You are down to earth and I find it so fun to read your blog every morning. I don’t always see it on the weekend, but most of the time I do. It’s ok to not like your outfits everyday, that’s how we know you are for real.
Omg! I love your Blog! Recovering from second round of cancer and bilateral masectomy I discovered it. It was one of those “please Dear Load, let me survive this” days. You realistic sence of style and refreshing comments got me through some of my most difficult of Days! Please don’t be so critical of yourself. We never know whose life we impact. You ROCK Woman!………..DeeMarie
Oh my goodness, DeeMarie. You have no idea how much that means to me. Big tears of joy are in my eyes. I guess we are always more critical of ourselves than we are of others. I hope you are doing well and have a Merry Christmas.
Love the outfit…minus the sweater:) I really think it’s the color close to your face that is “off”. I, also, do not look good in that color near my face!
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I love your honesty. I do that too…wear an outfit combination that I determine will never be put together again. You are brave enough to share them with all of us, so then we feel normal.
Many blessings for you this Christmas. Praying for you and your sweet family.
Tania, thank you for being you.. I appreciate your honesty and humor. I enjoy your blog, I have one request….is there a way that you could show a picture with the outfit of the day, with the email introduction? Just a teaser ? Oh and by the way you are right about the sweater, maybe too much of the same color? I too don’t like a band at the bottom of a sweater but I thought is was because (for me) it highlighted my thick midsection. That is obviously not your problem!! Hope you have a joyous Christmas!!!
If I knew how I would Jamie. I need to ask if my version allows that.
A very Happy Christmas everyone.
