REAL AND HONEST
When I first started this blog I never envisioned that anyone would ever find it much less actually follow me. I really thought in the back of my mind that it would serve as a lookbook. I would be able to take pictures of my outfits and rate them on how well I liked them. I would have a visual reference for outfits I wanted to replicate and for “those” others that would never see the light of day again.
Guess which category this outfit would be in. This would go in the never to be replicated again pile!!! Some of the first comments I received when I first started were things like “your a real person.” I didn’t understand what that meant at first because all the bloggers are “real” people. Then it finally dawned on me what you were saying, you were saying that I am normal, I make mistakes, I am not a Stepford Wife. You would be right, I work every day so the outfits you see me in are the ones I wore to work that day. I don’t have the luxury of taking my pictures and then editing them right then. I edit them when I get home and there are many times when I wish I had a re-do. However, it is too late by then and I have a post to write. You will occasionally get a sour note if you follow my blog but then you probably are already aware of that. Hahaha
I’ll just go ahead and jump into what I don’t like about this outfit. I don’t like the sweater! In fact, I didn’t like the sweater when I had it on so I have no idea why I didn’t change it then. I must have just been stubborn. I don’t like the color and I don’t like the band at the bottom. But none of that matters now because I wore the stupid thing. I am not even going to tell you where you can buy one like it. Lol!
I do like the infinity scarf but I didn’t notice that I didn’t have it pulled together good. I don’t like the separation between the two layers so that you can see the sweater. This scarf in a dark burgundy and it has little puckers all over it. I bought the scarf last year at Cato’s but here are some that are similar and not one of them is over 14.00.
The camel colored pants are Old Navy Pixie pants. These are the longer length version but it wouldn’t matter since I paired them with my knee boots. I wear cropped pants and ankle pants with knee boots, that way I get more wear out of my purchases.
I bought my quilted vest last year from a little boutique up the road. I looked back to where I wore the vest last year (here) and was shocked when I read that it had a hood that I had detached. What? I didn’t even remember that it had a hood. Lol! The vest is fur lined, which I love, and that helps to keep you warm. The olive color and the leather accents are really in style right now.
I am thankful that you have chosen to follow me on my blog journey. I may not always “hit it out of the park” but I will always show you affordable fashions that you can replicate for yourself. I am a “real” person and I will show you the good, the bad, and the ugly. Haha! At least you know I am honest.

Your scarf really brings out your blue eyes and is a nice contrast with your hair. I noticed that a purple outfit from a while back also brought out your eyes. Wish I knew how to make that happen for brown hair and brownish eyes. (My mother called our eye color “sh** muckally*not sure if that is a word* dun”. Others have mentioned how it is nice to see someone styling affordable clothes. I appreciate that as well, Merry Christmas!
I love seeing what works and what doesn’t work. When I go back and look at my blog and my Instagram feed, I sometimes have a “what was I thinking” reaction? But it acts, as you say, as kind of a fashion “sounding board” that lets me know what does and doesn’t work for me. I think you look fine in this outfit but it’s how you feel about it that matters! I’m in awe that you are able to post almost every day. I can’t seem to get it together, and I don’t go out to a job everyday!
Your honesty is part of your charm! I enjoy your blog and look forward to it every morning…
Hey Tania, I like what your wearing, and that scarf is fabulous.
I have less misses with my outfits since I’ve been following your blog and look forward to next year.
Have a lovely cold Christmas and we’ll swelter here in ours in Queensland.
Xxxxx
Thanks, Joanne! I hope to one day travel to Queensland, but dang, that is a long trip!
Dont we all have those days? Most of us just don’t have ours posted on the internet!
