50 IS NOT OLD | PURPLE AND MUSTARDI am so glad you enjoyed meeting my daughter on yesterday’s post. But guess who came to work this morning and wanted to know when “he” was going to be featured? The baby of the family is wanting to have his day in the sun. Haha50 IS NOT OLD | PURPLE AND MUSTARDJoseph is the youngest of my three children. He is the quietest in nature, blonde and blue eyed, in other words, the most like me. He went through a stage when he was young when he refused to get his picture taken. Some of my favorite pictures where during this phase. When he was in Pre-K, they let the children dress up for Halloween, and they took their pictures and placed them in an ornament to give their parents for Christmas. Joseph was Barney the big purple dinosaur. My ornament is on my tree every year. It is the picture of a dinosaur, from the back, and his snow white blonde hair. No face, just him from the back. He had refused to turn around.50 IS NOT OLD | PURPLE AND MUSTARD

We attended a wedding when he was around 6, and after the ceremony every one was gathered taking pictures. All of a sudden, Joseph is striking poses, and yelling take one of me, take one of me. I don’t know what snapped, but the shy phase had ended. Haha50 IS NOT OLD | PURPLE AND MUSTARDJoseph later on became the class comedian. He would talk and talk in school, but he never got in too much trouble. He was a charmer, and that extend to his teachers. I went to school to talk to one teacher about him, just to see how he was doing. She told me that she had moved he in almost every seat in the classroom to try to keep him from talking to his neighbor. Out of desperation, she had moved he desk right beside hers, with his back to the rest of the class. Yep, all he did was talk to her then. Hahaha She said she couldn’t get mad, he was just so darn charming. Unfortunately that was in high school, not grade school. Lol!
50 IS NOT OLD | PURPLE AND MUSTARDI LIKE today’s outfit!!! It is an old as the hills purple GAP cardigan. It was so old that I had to remove a ton of “pills” from it before I could even put it on. I used a sweater stone, and in just a few minutes I had a pile of fluff, and a sweater that looked good as new. 50 IS NOT OLD | PURPLE AND MUSTARDHere are some cardigans that are similar.

The patterned pixie pants are from Old Navy. These were a purchase on my trip to Tennessee. I think I only bought these pants and one other thing from Old Navy that day, I was on my best behavior. I just fell in love with the romantic print and color. I had no idea if I had anything that would match them, but when you hardly ever throw anything away, you can usually come up with something.

I went into my closet this morning and picked out the cardigan first. I was holding it up to all the different colors in my closet to see what I wanted to wear with it. I have always liked purple and mustard, so I stopped on this tank top. It is one from Van Heusen that I bought on a trip to Atlanta. I turned around to start looking at my pants, I had forgotten all about these pixie’s, and I almost squealed when I spotted them. I couldn’t have matched the outfit together any better had all the pieces been bought at the same time.

50 IS NOT OLD | PURPLE AND MUSTARDI am carrying old faithful. This Dooney & Bourke purse can be carried year round, it doesn’t matter what the season. Here is a similar one in several different colors. The ivory espadrilles are by Isaac Mizrahi, and I think I bought them last year.

50 IS NOT OLD | PURPLE AND MUSTARDNow for the jewelry. My necklace is by Premier Designs and it is called Kaleidoscope. I don’t know who sells Premier Jewelry, (you can buy it off Ebay), but if any of you sell this and want to comment your information please feel free. My bracelets are by Stella & Dot and Chloe & Isabel. I am also wearing one of my favorite bracelets. If you have read many of my post, you have seen me wearing a black bracelet with charms. These bracelets are called By The Book, and each one has a different scripture. I am wearing Jeremiah 29:11. Today is my 7 month anniversary!!! So, I am going to be giving away a Jeremiah 29:11 By The Book bracelet. I know in price this is not an expensive gift, but it is one that is near to my heart. I hope if you win this, you will cherish it as much as I have mine. To enter I am doing something a little different. My son has recently started a YouTube channel. He is hilarious, I told you he was a comedian. I want you to watch the video below and leave me a comment telling me what you thought was the funniest part of the video. I will announce the gift on Sunday.

  28. Diana Taylor says:

Funny interactions, I loved his singing and reactions to the pink beats! When he tried guessing her words, hilarious!

  29. During the 2nd & 3rd segments both of their voices sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks! Both seem to be enjoying each others company… It’s the simple things in life that are best! I love it when both of my adult “kids” get together and have moments like these. As far as today’s outfit, love the purple and mustard combo which is one of my favorites.

  30. Toss up for me between 1) SHOUTING the words instead of whispering (especially Kayla!), Joseph’s frustration with “window” and the munchkin voices on the Bloopers!

  31. Tania thanks for sharing video. I thought my favorite part was Video 1 when Joseph was singing and bopping along to the music, so funny! Then when I saw the second one their voices just cracked me up. It was so much fun to watch. They are hysterical together. Is the girl your son’s girlfriend?

  32. Love that purple cardigan! You’re a gal after my own heart! Pills on my fav sweater? No problem! Shave them off! – Personally, I will wear something until it disintegrates! ha! No “clothes snob” here! – Love the colors, and those pants are so pretty! I have a flowered denim jacket very similar to the pattern of your pants. Maybe a purple tank is on my “I want/I need” list! – Joseph is ‘teddy bear’ of a young man! You can tell he takes his “happy” with him wherever he goes or whatever he does. That’s a treasure, and I’m sure he’ll be one to spread joy to others all his life! The video is so funny & adorable! What a cute couple! They look so happy, and having such fun. My fav part? -“POOP! i NAILED IT!” hahahaha!

  33. Melesa Garrison says:

  38. Mary L. Hart says:

The video, including the bloopers, was hilarious, but I cracked up hearing him sing while wearing the “ear beats” as she was trying to talk! They are too cute!
Loved the purple and gold together, has to be one of my favorites so far!

  39. Loved watching that…It was a hoot! I’d pay $ to see them in a comedy show! Their interaction with each other…nickelback….English? So many funny parts – I can’t pick JUST one….absolutely put a smile on my face & made my day! I needed this sooooo bad today (if you only knew!) THANKS for sharing! (Love your outfit, too!)

  41. I love the purple and gold. You have inspired me to lose weight so I can wear cute, floral pants!

I loved the video! They are such an adorable couple. I laughed so hard when he realized the top of his head was cut off. Yes, he is a charmer! What a great way to start the day.

  42. We’re supposed to choose the part we thought was the funniest? How can I chose ONE thing when I laughed through the entire video!!! Then, I had to watch the Chubby Bunny video too, and if I didn’t have to get ready for work right now (and take out the trash before I go), I would have found ALL of their videos to watch because they are adorable and hilarious!!! I totally cracked up when Joseph was singing and dancing to the music! Tania, what awesome kids you have!

  43. Having been fortunate enough to have both these cuties in my classes, I can attest that they’re 200% charismatic! Funniest moment: when he thinks ‘window ‘is Tyler Berglowe

  44. Kelly Blair says:

Oh how cute!! What a blessing he must be. One of my favorite things to do is laugh; I bet everyone he meets just falls in love with him. Love the voice change at the end, sounds like they sucked on balloons or decided to give their best Minnie Mouse interpretations. Also, his little dance moves and the little finger snaps, totally awesome. They seem so sweet, I know they just fill your heart. Love the game, can’t wait to play that with my grandkids. Thank you for sharing!!
    ~blessings,
    Kelly

Love ALL the outfits and your blog – you are so real—-and that makes you special! Keep it up!

  52. very funny they were both cute, and yes it is hard to believe he was every shy. I love the Barney story, that’s kids for you. I am a teacher and I have defiantly known that kid! and I do mean in high school. One of my favorite classes last year had my biggest talkers, but they were such a good hearted bunch, and all boys. One day they sang most of the period. It was really funny, I had to stop it before it started the next day. You outfit is very cute I love the color combo. And it looks great on you

  53. Well I thought the funniest part was his obsession over his head being cut off . But also I’m too much man for this chair cracked me up. Love this outfit!

  54. The Chipmunk talk was funny, but funnier was not whispering for the whisper challenge. But the funniest to me was I am too much man for this chair, lol! ??? Cute springy outfit???

  60. Marlene Trevisan says:

Where can I buy the By the Book bracelet? Love the way you write from your heart!

  61. What a great complement of personalities with your son and DIL. He is definitely a charmer and when he asked her “Is this English?” thought I would croak. They are a great couple and the video was super cute! BTW, love the purple and mustard…Can I shop in your closet??

  62. Very cute. I enjoyed the bloopers section.

  63. The whisper round reminded me of Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was funny. They are cute together. Love your outfit and have a blessed day

  64. Linda Harris says:

I think that is about the funniest video I have ever seen. It was all great. What fun they were having. Loved every moment of it. Love the purple and mustard together. I would never have thought to put them together. Love your blog. First thing I read every morning.

  65. OMygosh, chip off the old block as they say ; ) what a cute couple and your son is a hoot! What a cute idea and the fact they are having so much fun with it. I loved all the antics, but especially his sitting dance moves, ha!

  66. Joseph dancing out of his seat, can’t contain that enthusiasm! Oh what a terrific give away! Would love to wear that bracelet!

  67. I’ve enjoyed reading about your family. The kids sound wonderful.

I don’t wear much mustard or purple but may have to think about adding a bit. The way you styled them together with accessories looks very calming to me. Might not be bad for a crazy day at work!

  68. Linda Chugon says:

“Hella cameltoe”! That’s the funniest line EVER!

  69. I can see the charmer for sure! The entire video was funny but I really LOLed during the chipmunk part.

  70. Carla Parham says:

I thought the funniest part was when Joseph was singing and dancing to his music.

  71. Alicyn Swift says:

His facial expressions crack me up!

  72. “I am too much man for this chair to handle” lol lol lol ???

  73. Wendy Hoff says:

I think your son liked listening to the music more than figuring out the words. “Is this English?” Was super funny. Hope I win!!!!

  74. Beth Bacon says:

Funny video. Love the purple & mustard together.

  75. oh that boy is a mess! ILove how he “dances in his pants” and declares ‘convict music’- I about spit my coffee out laughing! That was the funniest. Your DIL is precious-She reminds me looks wise of a young Loretta Lynn.
I Have to say regarding your outfit, purple is not usually a favorite, but once again, the way you style it wins me over ( to the purple side 😛 )

  76. I think the best funniest part of the video is the way he dances and how surprised he is when your daughter guesses all the words. Always enjoy reading your blog. It’s part fashion and part life.

  77. You son is so cute! And a good loser!

  78. Joseph is a cutie! I can see why he is close to your heart. I think the funny thing is the interaction between he and Kayla. They are like a team with one being the funny guy and one being the straight person! Thanks for sharing your family with us! Cute outfit! Love your blog!

  79. Joseph is a charmer, for sure! As far as the funniest part of the video, that’s a toughie – there were quite a few moments that were funny! I loved the mistakes in the Whisper Challenge:

    Kayla: “Nickelback.”

    Joseph: “Is this English?”

    LOL!

Then there were the helium voices on part 2. Ha ha ha!

I guess I’m going to have to go with the Nickelback comment Joseph made. That was my favorite, funny part of the video.

Joseph must be a lot of fun at parties!

    Thanks for the laughs.

Oh! I almost forgot to tell you, I love today’s outfit! Those pants are the cutest, and the purple and mustard combo go really well with them.

    Keep up the good work!

  80. The funniest part, of many, was that neither of them Whispered the words in the Whisper Challenge. 🙂
