Plaid, a Great Fall Trend

DSC_0011_2Can women over 40, or even 50 wear plaid? Why not? I happen to love these pants that I bought from Old Navy about a month ago. They are on sale right now for 19.97!!! They have wonderful colors in them, navy, white, maroon, red, and a small stripe of yellow. The funny things is, I bought them for my granddaughter too, and she is only 2 years old. I need to get a picture of the two of us together.DSC_0010You can see the yellow in this picture. But the reason I cropped in this picture, is to show you my bracelet. Isn’t this cute? It has light blue and yellow rhinestones in the design. It latches on the side with one the those sliding pins. Vintage accessories are usually one of a kind, and they can help make any outfit special. Check yard sales, ebay, and etsy for great deals. My watch is Michael Kors, and was a birthday gift from the ladies at work. I have great friends????  I am still loving this manicure, and I will probably keep this color for a while.DSC_0011I grabbed my old Louis to carry, I really couldn’t find a purse I liked. This is the first time I have worn these shoes. They are Gili, and I bought them at the QVC return outlet store. Yes, that store knows me by name. Lol! They are navy with a light beige, or sand, strap that goes around the back. Sorry I didn’t take a better picture of the shoes, to show them from the side. If you click on the link above though, it will take you to QVC and show you the shoes, AND they are on sale also.DSC_0010_2A very simple outfit, that I think looks nice. A trendy yellow scarf to bring out that yellow stripe, a classic navy sweater, and a pair of gold dangle earrings, all from Cato’s, complete this look.

Today is the last day to comment on my Milestone’s post for the two 25.00 Amazon gift cards. The winners will be announced tomorrow.

  1. I love your posts. You are funny and you have great style. I especially enjoyed your what not to wear post. I would never be brave enough to show my “mistakes” or even my regular wardrobe because when I step out of my comfort zone I feel like it is a mistake so I just take the outfit off and put on my old standby’s! I need an intervention!

    1. Unfortunately Debbie, I have way too many “mistakes” to show them all. However, that is liable to become a regular addition to my blog????????

  2. I am over 40 and I love these pants. I have these pants. I wear these pants. So, yes, we midlifers can definitely wear plaid pants and rock them! I love how you have styled them with the navy and yellow. I first styled them with a navy boyfriend cardigan over a navy tank and added bronze ballet flats. But I think next time I want to try the yellow! I’m thinking a chunky knit mustard sweater with navy blue booties!

    Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Shelbee, I have a chunky mustard crop top that I had originally planned on wearing, but it was too warm. I’ll save that till next time.

  3. I really love your style. You put great outfits together. Keep inspiring us, please! 🙂

  4. Those plaid pants are great! I bought the Old Navy ones for my daughter last year, but didn’t realize I could get a pair for myself, too!

  5. Anyone can wear plaid BUT it depends on your body type. If you carry your weight in your hips and thighs, (D Body Type) plaid on the bottom is only going to call attention to your “challenge area.” Tania, you look great with patterns on the bottom because you have nice legs. I am a D body type and I would reverse this wearing the plaid in a top or jacket and darker on the bottom. It’s all about PROPORTION and knowing your body type is essential. Love the colors—love navy and wear a lot of it myself. All I can say is, “You go girl,” because you can rock the prints and plaids on the bottom.

    1. Not only are these pants cute, and on sale, they are really comfortable. Just enough stretch to feel good, but not so much they look like glue.

So cute, now I want those pants!
