Here are some gorgeous finds you’ll want to add to your closet, pronto!
Mocha is the Pantone color of the year. What color is Mocha exactly?
Mocha is a warm, rich brown hue, think chocolate and coffee. It would go with a lot of colors, from earthy tones to soft pastels. I’ve found that the color varies from store to store or item to item. So, I pick the color that I like.
This heathered brown (mocha) color has been a favorite of mine this fall and winter. I love the soft shade that is richer than beige, but softer than chocolate. The cashmere Classic Turtle Neck is called Taupe, and is very soft and comfortable. I read that it ran small, so I ordered an XL because I wanted an oversized look.
I paired the turtleneck sweater with black bootcut jeans and pointy boots in the same color to elongate my legs.
Let’s act like I’m getting ready to go out the door for a dinner date with Joe. I would add this Faux Fur Jacket and switch out the Suede & Leather Shoulder Bag for an LV bag I rarely carry.
I love this Mongolian Cashmere Polo Sweater from Quince. It looks polished but is still casual-looking. The Madewell Perfect Vintage Wide Leg Jeans have the right amount of width, not too broad or overwhelming. I sized up to a 29 to get the fit I wanted.
Let’s pretend I’m heading out the door to go to lunch with my daughter and DIL. I followed the same formula as above by adding a jacket and a nice handbag.
This Suede Leather Car Coat might be my favorite purchase this winter. It is so nice and heavy, but not stiff like some jackets can be. The dark brown color is on trend, and it looks great with the polo sweater and wide-leg jeans. I added a YSL handbag, which was a Christmas present several years ago. I love the overall look, which is casual but still put together looking.
How To Wear Pantone Color of the Year (Mocha)
This ribbed dress is a dream for effortless style! The fit is flattering without being clingy, and the ribbed texture adds just enough detail to keep it interesting. Pair it with a long necklace or wooden earrings for a casual look, or throw on a moto jacket for an edgy vibe. Available in four other colors, but Gurls, the mocha shade is perfect for fall and winter. Add a pair of ankle boots or sleek heels, and you’ve got a wardrobe staple you’ll reach for again and again.
Talk about comfort meets elegance! This loose sweater is perfect for everyday wear, with a relaxed fit that doesn’t skimp on style. Tuck it slightly into high-waist jeans for a polished look, or wear it over leggings for cozy weekend vibes. The warm mocha hue makes it ideal for layering with scarves or a tote bag in neutral tones. The weather is still cold, so I want the piece that feels like a hug but looks like I tried—win-win!
A cardigan like this is the definition of versatility. The v-neckline makes it perfect for layering over a silk blouse or wearing solo with some simple jewelry. With so many color options, you might be tempted to snag more than one, but the mocha hue is a timeless appeal you don’t want to miss. Pair it with jeans and loafers for a casual outfit, or dress it up with a midi skirt for brunch. This one is a closet essential, Gurls!

This crinkle-texture shirt is a lightweight option with major style points. The button-up design gives it a touch of sophistication, while the crinkled fabric adds texture and charm. Wear it open over a tank for a relaxed vibe or tucked into straight-leg jeans for an elevated ensemble. The mocha shade pairs beautifully with gold accessories or a pop of mustard yellow for contrast. This is the kind of shirt that’s as perfect for work as it is for dinner out.
I love a solid pair of jeans! The wide-leg style is super flattering, and it would be easy to style with just about anything. Pair them with a loose sweater for a laid-back look, or dress them up with the ribbed dress worn as a tunic. The mocha hue is such a chic alternative to classic denim, offering all the versatility of neutral tones but with a fresh twist. As the grandkids say, don’t sleep on these—they’re a must-have!

Corduroy meets platform? Yes, please! These shoes add the perfect touch of retro flair while staying totally modern. The mocha color is a natural fit for neutral-toned outfits or even bold patterns. Pair them with the crinkle shirt and jeans for a cohesive look or wear them with a midi skirt to mix textures. These shoes are as comfy as they are stylish—perfect for making a statement without sacrificing comfort.
Every wardrobe needs a moto jacket, and this faux leather version in mocha is pure perfection! It’s edgy, stylish, and oh-so-versatile. Layer it over the ribbed dress for date night or pair it with the v-neck cardigan and jeans for a chic daytime outfit. The mocha hue softens the classic moto look, making it feel more approachable and elegant.

Mocha doesn’t have to be fabric. These wooden earrings are small but mighty! Their earthy tone adds warmth and texture without being over the top. Wear them with the crinkle shirt for a natural vibe or pair them with the moto jacket for a fun mix of edgy and organic. My sister has a pair almost exactly like these that she wears all of the time. I like that they are a bit different and lightweight!
A tote bag that’s both stylish and functional? Yes, ma’am! This mocha tote is roomy enough for all your essentials while still looking polished. Pair it with the loose sweater and jeans for a casual look or use it to elevate the ribbed dress and corduroy platforms. The clean lines and neutral shade make it a versatile addition to your wardrobe.

I love the faux fur mocha jacket! I always wanted to treat myself to one but can’t seem to justify buying one since we rarely go anywhere where it would look appropriate. Maybe we need to get out to fancier restaurants? 😆
I love a true mocha color. I haven’t been able to find a dark brown or chocolate brown in pants. I’ve looked at all the websites I like but can’t find any in a petite size. I can find camel but not a dark brown.
