Everyone loved the A Casual Outfit That Looks Expensive – But Isn’t, post I did in April. I can understand why; who doesn’t want to look great for less? Would you like to see “outfits that look expensive – but aren’t” as a repeating series?

Today’s outfit is remarkably similar to last weeks. All the items I’m stying are different, but the overall look has the same vibe. This is how you can take an outfit and make it yours. I realize that everyone’s budget for clothing is different, and buying an entire outfit can put a strain on your wallet. If that is the case, pick a piece or two that you can add to your wardrobe to create more outfits in the future.

Affordable Blazer To Create Outfits That Look Expensive, But Aren’t

Nothing elevates the look of an outfit faster and easier than a blazer. Some of you still believe that a blazer is only for the workplace or meetings. Let’s change that today because I wear blazers to church over a dress, dinner with slacks, and shopping.

If you are watching your money, you want to pick an affordable blazer that can be worn in multiple ways. A classic color such as white, black, navy, or tan would be the best choice since they are great neutrals that go with everything.

This Double Breasted Tweed Blazer is gorgeous! I loved it so much that I bought it in white, black, and red. The material is very nice, and the blazer is lined. It is of excellent quality, although the buttons aren’t as heavy as I would like, but they still look great.

There are always going to be times when I don’t want to wear a blazer or I want to take it off. So, here is the outfit with the blazer. You can see that the outfit looks great, but wearing the blazer takes it up several notches. With the addition of the blazer, the outfit now looks polished, complete, and chic.

This Cheetah Puff Sleeve Shirt is too cute! I don’t usually like tops with a high neck since I have more chins that I want people to look at. However, this shirt now hangs safely in my closet because I love it so much. It fits great and has cute details. Plus, I love a Cheetah print since it is usually smaller than a leopard print.

This chic Top Handle Straw Clutch is the bag I’m reaching for the most. I love the style, and the clutch looks great dressed up or down. I’ve also got a black one on order since black is a color that is not well-represented in my handbag assortment.

But let’s talk about these Wide-Leg Jeans! If you’ve been waiting for the right wide-leg jeans to come along before you jumped on the bandwagon, here is your invitation. These jeans are soo soft and comfortable, although they have a pretty high waist. I love the lighter color since I wear that more in the spring and summer. These are super flattering, and my usual size 8 fits me great. The best part is, they are also VERY AFFORDABLE!

  2. Brenda Thompson says:

Love this look! Thank for continuing to remind me that adding staples to my wardrobe is key. I can get alittle overwhelmed when I think I need all of things. LOL

  3. Awesome post. Love the affordable outfit idea. Thank you.

  4. I truly love this outfit it has a very classy look.

  5. Love the cheetah blouse, so cute! Thank you for putting this cute affordable outfit together!!! Such a polished look without breaking the bank!

I have been following you now for about a year and each day, I look forward to reading your blog. I tell myself that I need to let you know how much I enjoy your style and your stories, including all of your Bible verses. My wardrobe has increased dramatically and I no longer just stick with the classics (black, blue, brown). You gave me permission to try something different, to be bold and go where I have never been comfortable to venture.
I am 63 years old and am a professional HR executive and I am often complimented on some of my outfits and I share where I got the inspiration. Today, I was at our plant sites and wore the “Pink jacket” with the TSHIRT and I recieved several wows! A year ago, I would not have attempted to go outside my lane. Today, I do, thanks to you.
May God continue to bless you and one day, if I am extremely lucky, I will get to meet you and buy you a cup of coffee and ask how did you decide to become an “influencer”?

    1. Candy!!! Thank you so much for this! I love hearing that you love the blog and have put it into practice! Hopefully, we’ll meet up one day!

  7. I love the looks expensive but aren’t posts. Hope you’ll do more of them!

    1. Alexia Maben says:

I love the cheetah print top. would go well with alot of clothes.

  8. That blazer looks very nice, but I’m really confused by the buttons? The rear view is very stylish.

  9. Joanne W. says:

    Tania…a very helpful post. Thanks!

  10. That leopard top is really classy and cute!

  11. Yes, please keep showing outfits that look expensive but aren’t. You’ve helped me shop in my closet. Also, I will use my tan blazer even though I don’t work in an office anymore.

  12. Looks like a winner to me! Thanks for giving us beautiful, cost conscious choices, Tania.

  13. Very cute look – I said I wasn’t buying any more animal print but that shirt is too darling. I hesitate to buy anything on Amazon that is not prime shipping such as the blazer. I have had so much trouble not getting my items and the refund process is horrific with third party vendors.

  14. Thanks for sharing outfits that aren’t going to cost as much as others and outfits that you can put together with clothing that you already own. 😊

  15. I think this would be a great recurring feature!

  16. Rosalinda says:

Thank you for sharing these beautiful items that are a bit more affordable but look classy. Have a great Tuesday!

  17. I would love to see more outfits that look expensive but really aren’t. Thank you!

  18. Love jeans and blazers! Long sleeves and lining make a blazer a bit too hot for the summer where I live….I would like to find quality unlined blazers.

  19. yes, please more of these “outfits that look expensive but aren’t”. Love this outfit too.

  20. Deb Wilkin says:

Love the blazer. I bought it in blue. It is well made and will go with so many things. The sleeves are a little too long for me. I’m 5’4” and normally wear a 10/12, so I bought the large. I’m going to shorten the sleeves.

Thank you for your posts and daily verse. I love starting my day with you.

  21. Melissa Palmer says:

I, too, love blazers. I work from home (and we don’t even go on video), and I wear blazers regularly. I just feel so put-together in them. I have learned that they just have to fit well, have a bit of stretch, and not be overly thick to be comfortable in all day. Gorgeous outfit once again!

  22. Unfortunately the jeans are sold out in the size 8. But love the cheetah shirt and blazer!😉

  23. Kathleen McDermott says:

The wide-leg trend doesn’t please my eye – at 69, I wore them in the late 60s and 70s! But this pair, the simple fall and soft wash, just looks so cool and easy for Summer. And I love high waist. So I popped over and ordered! Great price and free shipping. Thanks for the post.

  24. Stephanie says:

    Tania,
Thanks for the surprise Starbucks gift card! What a great way to start a Tuesday! Always look forward to your posts. Thanks again.

  25. Tania, please continue to do posts like this. I have a limited clothing budget, but I still like to look polished and put together. These looks are lovely and reasonably priced.

  26. Linda White says:

I love wearing clothes that look expensive but are affordable. Thank you for showing us where to get these affordable clothes but also for finding the pieces. I love that I can just go to that site and order. 💕

  27. Doris Mitchell says:

Good morning everyone! Tania, this look is absolutely me. I love each piece. I will be getting the blazer and cheetah top AND the clutch . I have a pair of wide leg jeans and shoes that will be perfect. As always, thank you for the fashion inspiration !!

  28. I love the outfit on you. I have a black blazer from Kohl’s that looks like yours. I have similar wide leg jeans and tops. I really like the price of the jeans you linked. I just have to decide if I want to pay for alterations. My inseam is 28 inches. I agree with the other readers to keep doing these budget friendly posts.

  29. I like the idea of a regular blog on this topic. I actually have bought a few tops from Amazon which I would not have done except for your recommendation! And I was really impressed with them. I plan on taking them on vacation. And BTW your Joe stories are a scream! Thanks for brightening my day!🥰

  30. Susan Radkte says:

Love the jeans and shirt however not too sure about the high neck.

  31. Yes, this topic would be great to receive on a recurring basis. The wide leg jeans are extremely flattering on you, front and back! I’m wondering how they would be for a shorter person? Joe is certainly a ‘Joe of all trades’. How are his studies doing?

  32. Marla Tognoli says:

I love the outfits that look expensive… posts!!

    Thanks for including.

  33. Love this entire outfit! I retired in 2020 after teaching for 32 years. My “go to” for cute, affordable, school clothes was Stitch Fix. I had pieces no one else did…small town problems.😂
On my pension, I need to be more careful, plus, I don’t need the variety I did. This outfit is just perfect for date night, a theater performance, drinks with friends, and pretty much anything. Love, love, love!💕
Enjoy seeing your post every day,
    Marla

  34. Love, love the jeans. I can see those jeans would be great this summer. Enjoy seeing your posts each day. Thanks for sharing.

  35. Ginger Hiller says:

It is amazing how the blazer takes the outfit up a notch. Since blazers just aren’t part of my style aesthetic, do you have any suggestions on what could be worn in its place? I’m glad that your washing machine is back in working order. Good luck to Joe on finding the right knobs, so that all of them don’t have to be replaced.

  36. Love, love the jeans. I can see those jeans would be great this summer. Enjoy seeing your posts each day.

  37. I would love more posts on outfits that look expensive but aren’t gonna bust my budget. It is a nice outfit you have on and you look good in it. I like the top, but I’m like you, I don’t like high necklines only because I don’t like high collars around my neck. I don’t really like double breasted jackets either.

  38. Do you ever find mid waist jeans? I find high waist jeans to be uncomfortable sense I am short waisted! I feel like they are tight across my 50 plus lower belly! LOL

  39. Love all your looks. It is thoughtful to point out different price points. I enjoy seeing what you post each day.

  40. Yes, please keep the outfits that look expensive but aren’t. These days we need all the help we can get to save money.

Thank you for taking the time to publish this blog. I enjoy it very much, and I have purchased items you have shown us.

  41. I love this outfit. It takes jeans and a blouse to the next level. I work in an office but it inside a warehouse so you don’t get alot of opportunities to look polished and professional without being comfortable. Great job on the look!

  42. LOVE this outfit …and the pricing. Thank you! Do you have a single breasted blazer that you recommend?!

  43. Nice transitional outfit!

  44. Janelle Bracken says:

I also agree that it would be a great idea to keep the “Outfits That Look Expensive But Aren’t” posts on a regular basis. Please add my vote to the “yes” column! I just wore my Wrangler denim jacket purchased from Amazon (that you have recommended several times) twice last week! I say, “Thank you, Tania!” every time I put it on and feel that comfy delicious stretch/give of the fabric across my shoulder blades in the back. It’s a winner, too! I don’t own the blazer you’ve got on in this post, but I really like it on you, and my Amazon tab is still open, so we’ll see. Take care, and have a great day! 🙂

  45. The blazer looks very classy and fun! You look great! Thank you for sharing!

  46. love these very cute affordable outfits!

  47. absolutely love the blazer! probably would have been more times to wear it this spring cause of all the rain in ATL, but I already have several, so couldn’t justify it. LOVE all the colors it comes in tho, so may end up buying the cream in the fall (present it again then)! It is usually too hot in ATL for blazers, unless you are sitting in church.

  48. Veronica Huskins says:

Love the jacket, will send to daughter for a Mothers Day hint, lol

  49. L❤️VE everything about this post! The jeans, puff-sleeve top, & purse r my absolute faves!
    U r awesome!

  50. Im going to copy this outfit. I like Kendra Scott jewelry. I don’t have that chain set, but I think Ill order it. I like that you kept your cross on- I have a small diamond cross that I often leave on with other necklaces.

Also could you tell again about your weight loss program? Thank you!

  56. Yes, Tania, I would love to see this as a recurring post! I’m in semi-retirement now and watching my budget is very important to me. Your posts are always so helpful. Keep them coming!

  57. Mary Kinard says:

I was just looking at this blazer yesterday but can’t decide on a color. May have to get more than one!
I have always been a frugal shopper and would love to see regular posts of outfits that look expensive, but aren’t.

  58. I would like to see “Outfits that Look Expensive – But Aren`t as a monthly feature. Great Look, only wish the Jean’s came in a tall, the hunt it on!

    1. I share your sentiments Jayne .. and am hunting for Tall jeans as well.

  59. Stephanie says:

Please keep the “Outfits That Looks Expensive but Aren’t” posts on a regular rotation. Your posts always have great ideas that I can use even if I am only shopping my own closet.
I also love Kendra Scott jewelry. So many great styles & excellent quality.

  60. Cute blazer , looks similar to the Veronica Beard blazer . I’m not fond of the gold buttons on either blazer , guess I could change them out . Thanks for your less than expensive options .

  61. Michele B. says:

I love outfits like this one! You feel pulled together yet comfortable and not overdressed for a variety of occasions. Thank you! Just wish you were Petite for proportion comparison! Love your posts. Thanks.

  62. Great post! I love the blazer and cheetah print together. It really does elevate the look! Thanks so much!

  65. Good morning! I just ordered the adorable cheetah print shirt to go with a previously featured black blazer that I just received yesterday. Thanks for these lovely additions to my closet.

  66. Yes, I’d love this to be a repeating series!

  67. Michelle Collings says:

I absolutely love this outfit!! It looks very chic but understated. A blazer really can elevate just about any look. The problem I have is that I am extremely busty and also 5,1”. I tend to look like a linebacker when I wear a blazer. Any suggestions?
