THE SECOND GO AROUND – AN OUTFIT DO-OVER
I have finally arrived in Williamsburg after a 7 hour trip. It was beautiful scenery driving here, and the company was fun. I can’t believe how cold it has gotten though, they are even calling for possible snow on Saturday at home. After I left the house this morning and had picked up Ginger, I swung back by the house to go pick up a coat. I hadn’t even packed one because it had been so warm yesterday. That is how Virginia weather is, it can have a 30 degree or more swing in one day’s time.
The last time I drove to a woman’s club convention, I got pulled over by the police for going a little too fast through a construction zone. I paid closer attention this time. Haha! And before you ask, no I didn’t get a ticket. I think he took pity on three women traveling to a woman’s club convention, we were just three wild and crazy gurls! Lol!
How do you like this batwing/angel wing top? I like the name angel wing better, don’t you? I bought this a couple months ago at Belk. It is by New Dimension, and when I bought it I had in mind all along to wear it with a pair of linen pants. I just thought it looked beachy. You know how I like flowy tops, and this one sure fits the bill.
Gauze Top: Ralph Lauren | Alyx | Volcom
Plus: Forlisea (Sexy) | Bahama BreezeHow do you like my necklace today? I received a nice email from Crystal of Cabrera Jewelry telling me about her jewelry. She said would like to send me a necklace or two. She said she thought the blog would be a good place for her to start to try to get some exposure for her site. I understand all too well how hard it is to start a blog, website, or even making and selling jewelry when there are literally thousands of others doing the same thing. How do you stand out, how do you get noticed? I couldn’t turn her down, so I went to her site and was pleasantly surprised by her creations. Not only were they nice, but the price point will fit in everyones range. This one is called the Silver Calypso necklace and it is 30″ long. Most of her jewelry is under 40.00 with plenty of pieces in the 20.00 – 30.00 range. I have another necklace (my favorite of the two) that I hope to show you tomorrow. And then a special surprise for one of you on Friday.
Look whats back. If you missed them the first time, I was not at all pleased with the way my outfit turned out. I really like these pants, but they just did not look great with the cardigan. Anyway, I called for an outfit do-over. I am happy with the way this turned out! In fact Joe told me like three times how nice I looked. I should write that down, oh wait, I just did. Lol!
Pants: Old NavyHere are the looks from both sides. If you look close you can see one of my vintage fashion show purchases. I have on a silver mother-of-pearl bangle. I like the triangle shapes of light blue and mother-of-pearl. It is different from others that I already own.
You can see I have on my jewels of the vineyard cuff bracelet. I also have on my new (semi stolen) hammered silver ring from Bertha. They say that stolen flowers will flourish, I wonder what they say about a ring taken under protest. Haha It’s all good, she loves me:)
I am wearing a pair of Aerosole medium brown wedge sandals. I love these shoes. First off, they go with almost everything. And secondly, they are extremely comfortable. That would be considered a win, win.
You will be seeing a lot of this purse. I love carrying it in the summer months. In fact, I like carrying it in 3 out of 4 seasons. I like the linen texture and the leather and gold details. It is by Michael Kors and I bought it years ago at TJ Maxx. I looked for similar purses, but other that the ones I linked to on this post, I couldn’t find any.
Soooo, how did you like the do-over outfit?

Tania, I just saw your post and LOVE those pants – what a great outfit!!! However I did not see them on Old Navy’s website, maybe they sold out??? BIG bummer!
I love everithing! You always look great.
love the look! Where does one find the blouse?
I have been reading your blog since the beginning of the year. I also went back and read the previous ones. Love it!!! You passed by my town of Mechanicsville today outside of Richmond. Williamsburg is my favorite place for a quick trip of fun.
We also head your way a couple of times a year. My aunt was from Grundy and my Mom lived in Appalachia.
I really love the way you put clothes together. It gives me a lot of ideas. I look forward to it everyday. Great job!!!
It is a small world. How cool that you have ties to Grundy:)
Yep…much better than the cardigan. Not that the cardigan was wrong….I really like the necklace. Your hair is so cute flipped up, BTW.
Love your blog! I’m constantly inspired by your outfits. Fifty is far from old! Thank you for your encouragement!
