Opposites Attract

DSC_0046I have always heard that opposites attract, but I just thought that referred to love. However, I now see that it can apply to fashion. Black and white, stripes and houndstooth, are opposites that just go together.DSC_0045_3There is just something about this outfit that I love. I can’t really put my finger on the exact reason. I have always loved black and white, it is of course such a classic combination. Stripes and houndstooth are also classic patterns, but until recently, they were not patterns I would have worn at the same time. DSC_0043This sweater is from Cato, and the zipper embellishments turn an ordinary sweater, into something extraordinary. But let be honest gurls, the black panels on the sides are really slimming. I was looking on the Cato’s website and passed up the sweater, I finally found it on the second pass through. I like the way I have it styled, better than the way they did. HahaDSC_0042This necklace is one of my Stella & Dot purchases from my trunk show. I like that all the pieces come apart, so you can wear this in several different ways. The earrings are from Chloe & Isabel. These are really nice pieces, however I would probably never have purchased either if I hadn’t had a trunk show which allowed me to have several half priced items, and even some free money.DSC_0045The bracelet is a Stella & Dot purchase from last year’s trunk show. Haha  It is now retired, but here it is on ebay. The purse is a vintage find from way back. It caught my eye, because of the gold closure. I just think it looks smart. I take every opportunity I can, to look smart. Lol! The houndstooth pixie pants came from Old Navy, last year I think. I bought these shoes ages ago. They are at least 3 years old, and are Michael Kors. DSC_0043_2Yesterday a lady commented on my Facebook page, “ENOUGH, Get over yourself”! I have to admit that my first response was to laugh. Actually, I snorted loudly. My second response was, really lady? You can simply hit the unlike button, why do you feel the need to be snarky? In reality, this is the very reason I have not made my blog known to those in my community. So how do I have a blog on fashion, post pictures, and tell stories about myself, and it not be about me? At the same time, I don’t want to be like, “ain’t I something”. So, I am now putting you guys on the “Calm yourself down” patrol. After all, my charming wit should be center stage. Lol!
