Scotch Tape Plaid Leggings
First of all, you guys are awesome! Thank you so much for all your kind comments yesterday. You may look at my site one time a day, but I look at it several times a day to see if anyone left a comment. While some of you say I inspire you, I think it is the other way around. You are my inspirations!!! My granddaughter, who was three at the time, went on a shopping trip with me and two of my girlfriends. We had pulled up to one of the stores, and I was letting my girlfriends out, and then I was going to go park. My granddaughter didn’t understand, and she thought she was getting left behind. She hollered, “Don’t leave me gurls”. That has become our saying. Haha
How cute is this cowl neck sweater? I love that it can be worn like this, or pulled over the shoulders. I’ll wear it like that the next time. I bought it at TJ Maxx, and it comes in blue or red.
I have on two necklaces. The horn (or tooth) necklace is from Mountain Primadonna, and the waterfall necklace is a part of a necklace that I won from Premier jewelry. The really cool part about this necklace, is that you can wear it in a multitude of ways. Here it is on ebay.
I’m still wearing my By the Book bracelets, and I added a leather wrap bracelet.
I picked up this purse at the vintage fashion show. I loved the colors, and it reminded me of a Ralph Lauren look. I have wanted to carry it several times, but I just could not get the look right. When I put on these leggings, I immediately knew I wanted to carry the purse. I bought these leggings last year from a boutique at our craft fair. My daughter took one look at me, and proclaimed I looked like scotch tape. I hate to admit it, but she is right. Here is a similar pair.
Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? I saw on FaceBook the other day a Christmas Gift Challenge. It went like this:
Something they want Something they need Something to wear Something to read I love this, and I am going to try to incorporate it this year. Since my sister is a published author, I have the something to read one covered. If you might be interested in her book, Last in a Long Line of Rebels, you can purchase it on Amazon. Or, for a more personal touch, I can hook you up with an autographed copy.
I almost forgot, my three month anniversary is coming up. So, that means a giveaway. I have a blanket scarf to giveaway this time. So just leave a comment to be entered. I will post a picture of the scarf later. I will announce the winner next Friday.
Just remember, “Don’t leave me gurls”. I have added a subscription button to the blog. I would appreciate it if you would take the time to sign up. You will then be notified by email when a new post is made.

Love your style! I have seen you wear some shade of red lipstick in several pictures. My friends say I’m addicted to lipstick-it’s true!!! Do you wear a certain brand? Would you share the red color? Love your blogs, keep them coming?
I always wear lip stains so that I don’t have to reapply. I wear the 24 hour coverage shades and I recently started wearing lipsense also.
You are my new favorite blog – totally over 50 appropriate with just the right amount of sassy. I have taken to looking at your outfit of the day to plan mine! Keep up the good work and looking forward to more!
Love the color! I wish I could wear leggings like this. They look great on you. I’m short and have trouble finding the right length. Really love the color and Christmas inspiration.
Love the bright colors and the bold leggings! You’re rocking them! The look is perfection!
I love your blog. I’ve not tried a blanket scarf, yet . Hope I’m the winner. Here’s to a great beginning of a wonderful blog . Thanks for sharing with us!

Love how you put outfits together.
Love the entire outfit! You can never go wrong with black so I’m all in on the sweater; love the style and it would be also be great in red for Christmas. Also in love with the cute wedge black booties. ….and you are correct, “50 is NOT Old! “
OK, I have to lie down and have a rest now as this page of comments is so long I’m exhausted! Anyway, you look fab in these tartan (I’m a Scot) leggings. I wear a lot of tartan myself and it always gets great feedback. You were right to pair them up with this handbag – the colourway is perfect! And what a lot of lovely jewellery too. Great post x

Oh my I love your confidence! With the right attitude you can pull any look off. That’s what I admire most in your post. Your vintage pieces have inspired me to look farther than my usual stores. I am a cosmetic manager in a major retail store and to tell you the truth as I age (I turned 60 this week) I find I love the not so cookie cutter looks of my clients who are willing to explore their dressing and not only that a lot of great looks are tossed a side each year when the newest it look comes out. We should all brace our creativity and add that special piece to our outfits. Keep up all that you do and congratulations on anniversary.
I can’t wait to see the sweater with the neck the other way. I think I will try out the leggings!
Hi Tania!
I love this look:) Just finished all my shopping and wrapping this afternoon (I ‘m a glutton for punishment;) I pulled a look together today similar to your “Deer” post and I got tons of compliments! Thanks so much!
Great blog, look forward to your posts!!
I am a newcomer to your blog. You are a breath of fresh air!
Love your blog and all of your outfits!! As a 50-something, it is refreshing to see stylish outfits that are fun and cute!
Just discovered your blog. Thanks.
very cute and festive!
Enjoy reading your posts!
Thank you for taking the time to entertain many~
Love the sweater! I am not brave enough to wear leggings like that though! Look great on you!
Someone recently suggested plaid leggings to me, and I turned up my lip! You may have changed my opinion!! I’ve been coveting blanket scarves for a while now, so I would certainly be thrilled with one!
Thanks and take care!!
Love this blog and love the “don’t leave me gurls!” story.
I finally started getting the posts through email. Yay! Love the sweater!
You are rocking those plaid leggings! Very cute! I just found your blog yesterday and I can tell it will really inspire me. Thanks for sharing your fashion ideas!
I just love your gorgeous leggings even if your daughter had a few remarks about them. I get that too, I have two daughters!!! Please count me in for the blanket scarf giveaway. Last winter I looked for one but really couldn’t find one here in Australia so I really hope I can track one down this winter.
Love your blog,
Sue
Hi Tanya! Love your blog! I am a faithful reader every morning. This outfit is very flattering on you. I’m very much like you when it comes to fashion, I wear what I like….I also get a few raised eyebrows from hubby, but I know deep down he loves it…lol….I’ve been telling my friends about your blog, you have quite a few followers here in Canada! ????????
I just found your blog and I love it! Looking forward to what you have in store!!
Signed up for the emails but not getting the. Checked the trash and junk and they are not there either? I must be challenged in some way…….?
I would love to win the blanket scarf! I’ve been intending to make one and even pinned several tutorials. Haven’t gotten there yet! I’ll worry about how to tie it if I win!
I love scarves, but I don’t have a blanket scarf. It would be fun to win one! I enjoy your blog, and as to yesterday’s post, I have to remind myself of a saying I’ve seen around: “Comparison is the thief of joy.” I have to remind myself repeatedly of this. Your fun style inspires me to try some new things. Keep writing and styling.
You really look good in that outfit! I love you’re real and down to earth. You are witty too!
SO cute! You look fabulous!! You inspire me to have fun with my look. Thank you!
I adore those leggings and your whole look today! I used to own a pair of plaid stirrup pants many years ago that I was crazy about(I can’t believe I just admitted that!). I have several of those good works wrap bracelets and love them. I don’t own a blanket scarf so it would be awesome to win one.
Love, love the leggings and what a great sweater!
I am Tania’s mom and in my 70’s, I ordered two pair of leggings today. One was checked and the other a Christmas print. You never get too old to try something new but you won’t see any pictures of them on me.
As always, your sense of style is terrific!
Love the scotch tape leggings outfit from head to toe, Tania. I stumbled on your blog today for the first time and I’m loving your style!!!
Always love your outfits, sense of humor and stories. “Don’t leave me gurls” is just too cute. I shop at T.J. Maxx and get great buys, but need to hone my skills at vintage shops. I’ll keep trying. Thanks again for a blog that I look forward to reading everyday.
Super cute Christmas feel with the “scotch tape” leggings! And oh my goodness, that purse is TO DIE FOR! 🙂
I love the cowl neck sweater and thought it looked great and then I scrolled down and thought WOW those leggings are bright. I want the attention on my face not my legs so I couldn’t wear them in a million years. I applaud your confidence to wear them. Are you wearing them to work? I’ll be curious what reaction you get to the outfit.
Scotch tape leggings, I love it…
Love the name of your post today. Such a cute story about your granddaughter. Love your sweater, I need to swing into TJ Maxx and Marshalls more often! I’m missing out. Have a great weekend!
Really enjoy your blog. Looking forward to the next three months!
I love the leggings, but would never have the courage to wear them. Good for you!
OOOO a giveaway? I’m in…. I can’t believe its been 3 months…totally love everything you put together. I had a sweater like that I could put over the shoulder or wear as cowl neck and ended up giving it away…:(
thanks tania
I have recently started following your blog. I like your fun style and that you achieve your looks without spending a fortune. So many blogs are sponsored and feature high priced designer items. They may look great, but not all of us can justify such expense for everyday looks. keep posting!
Tania,
I love your blog! I subscribed to bloglovin and was searching for fashion blogs You hit everything I was looking for… real clothing that I can afford, clothes for someone who is 51 (wow time did fly), and things that look good on a woman who is not a size 2 (I am a size 12 wishing I was back at 10)! I love that your blog inspires me to go back to my own well stocked closet and rethink combinations. I discount shop as well and LOVE the hunt for a good buy, something quality at a great price. I have been checking out your blog for a couple of weeks now and just really love your style. I was excited to see you wear Premier’s Kaleidoscope and then to see you wear a piece from Girls Best Friend. I’ve been a Premier Jeweler for 11 years and think our jewelry is some of the best “cost per wear” jewelry out there. I see you commented on layering and the piece you wore today looks beautiful layered under other necklaces. Very excited to keep following you. You rock 🙂
“Don’t leave me Gurls” Was great I do remember that! You look GREAT!!!!
Well, I love the cowl neck sweater and then I scrolled down and thought Wow! those are really bright. If you can pull off that look, go for it! I have to be honest, I am not a fan of those leggings. I want the emphasis to be on my face not my legs so I couldn’t wear those in a million years. I applaud you for wearing what you love.
Cute outfit and it looks great on you. I need to start taking more chances with my clothes. You inspire me.
Thanks for the shout-out, Sis! I almost bought a blanket scarf yesterday but I don’t know how to tie the thing. Since I’m family and can’t win, put my name on that sweater when you’re finished with it. 🙂
I love the sweater and waterfall necklace! Would also love to win the blanket scarf!! I have been debating whether or not to get one.
I bet your granddaughter had a big time shopping with the girls! Love the scotch tape leggings! Wonder if it is based on an actual clan tartan? You do look adorable in them…great accessories…
Love that sweater! A blanket scarf has been on my wish list for 2 years now! Not sure why I don’t take the plunge and just by myself one. Would love to win!
I love your outfit!! Now, I want some plaid leggings too. You have inspired me.
