OFFICE APPROPRIATE LOOK THAT IS A COMFORTABLE
How many of you made a resolution this year? How many of you have already broken that resolution? Lol! So far, I am still doing good with the few that I made, and knock on wood, it has been easy so far. I didn’t make any over the top resolutions because I think that baby steps work best. So, my major resolutions have been…
to start my day with my morning devotion before I open my computer. If I open the computer first, then I go down a rabbit hole, and it takes me hours to get back on track. Another resolution was to not eat any sweets in the month of January. This is pretty major since I have been living on sweets since Halloween. Also, I have decided to only drink water or black coffee (yuck) in January to get away from processed sugar and artificial sweeteners. I am not a fan of water, so this is probably the biggest challenge for me this month.
Joe and I are also going to try and sit down every Sunday and make out a menu for the entire week. Then, I go online and make a grocery store order for the items that I need, and go and pick them up on Monday. Joe was in heaven at the thought of this new development. He loved getting to pick out what he wants to eat for the week, and I love knowing ahead of time what I have to cook. Wow, who knew that getting organized would make everyone happy?
I had several of you message me that you would like to see a work outfit. Since I went in to work several days last week, I decided to style a couple of work styles that will also work for date night, church, or any kind of dressier place that you might need to go. I love this look, and I love how comfortable it is to wear.
I am wearing a black cashmere turtleneck sweater that I wore earlier (here) with a pair of taupe corduroy pants, and it looked great in the casual setting. This sweater has been on sale for a while, so the sizes are probably getting limited. I am wearing a size medium in this sweater and I love the way that it fits me.
I love adding a POP of color, and red is one of my favorite colors to add to a black and white outfit. This waterfall cardigan is one that I bought from White House Black Market, but this one is only available in XXS and XS. I did find some similar ones, especially the one by Anne Klein, and I’ll link those below. I am wearing a medium in this sweater which fits great.
These dress pants are pretty dang awesome. I was surprised that I liked them as much as I did when I put them on, but I liked the weight of these pants and the large straight legs. I wasn’t a big fan of how high waisted they were, they came all the way up to my ribs. These pants have been on a Final Sale, so they are very limited in size. The only size left in them is size 18.
The Jack Multi-Strand necklace that I am wearing is turned around backward. The front side of this necklace actually has multi-colored crystals, but by turning it around to the backside, I will be able to wear it all year long. It is a very versatile piece because of this feature. I also added the Ryder Statement earrings and the Sophee small heart necklace to my look. I bought the small heart necklace for both of my granddaughters for Christmas, but it would also make a fabulous Valentine’s Day gift. ❤️️
Do you set goals at the beginning of the year? I am doing this for myself in several areas such as spiritually, health and fitness, business, and even in my relationships. I want to be the best person that I can be, so I am always looking for ways to improve.

Romans 8:31-32
31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
I so enjoyed that you made the comment that you want to be your best you…. The slogan or motto that I used in my classes over 30 years ( I am now 71 and have retired ) was LEARN TO BE YOUR BEST SELF .. TODAY , TOMORROW AND FOREVER. I enjoy trying to look my best , even at 71 💜💜💜 You look so beautiful in red . 🌹
Your outfit looks polished and professional, and also comfortable.
I have been doing a monthly menu for over 30 years. Nothing is ever written in stone, all meals are planned for the week and the food is in the fridge. If we have other plans, it is not an issue. You never have to worry about taking something out of the freezer, and no wasted food. Once you get started you will love it!
Maybe Tania the menu planning could become another of your features here on the blog. I run out of ideas for dinner and I always laugh that if someone told me at the beginning of the weeek what I would be making each day, that would sure help out a lot!
Thanks so much for showing comfortable work at home wear! I was one of the ones asking for it! You can blow the dust off my work blazers and shoes. I don’t wear either at the moment.
Good luck with the menu planning. Nice that your husband is excited about that. For 27 years I have asked my husband (off and on, I’m not crazy) what he wants for dinner. His response is “Oh, I don’t know, whatever there is.” My response is “We don’t have anything, that’s why I’m asking.” So, as of May 2021, he is retiring and he is taking over dinner. I can hardly wait!
