MY MAKEUP HAUL FOR APRIL 2022

One of the goals for this year is to branch out and try new beauty and skincare products. So many of us (hand raised here) tend to use the same products that we have for years. If those products still look great on you, then continue what you are doing. But, if your hair, complexion, style, or skin has changed, then you might need to check out what other products are out there.

When Walmart reached out to me to see if I was interested in trying Walmart Beauty items, I thought, “great timing!” I was already trying new products, and since most of us already know and trust Walmart, I knew that this would be an excellent addition to the blog.

Since I am going on vacation in a few days, I ordered some products I will need while away. My hair is dry, so I don’t wash it very often. I’ll be in the pool or the ocean most days, so I’ll have to wash my hair more than usual. I ordered the Philip B Lovin’ Leave-In Conditioner and Philip B Lovin’ Detangling Toning Mist. These products are Cruelty-Free, Vegan, and Keratin treatment safe. When I get out of the pool or the ocean, I hate the tangled wet hair since it dries into a tangled mess of dry hair. Lol! So, I plan on using the detangling toning mist and a wide-tooth comb to tame my hair and keep from scaring small children.

The rest of my new products are for the eyes and lips. I tried the By Terry line last month, and I was so impressed that I wanted to try a couple of other items this month.

Last month, I bought the Blond Opal and the Bronze Moon Blackstar “Color-Fix” Cream Eyeshadow. I’ve used these cream eyeshadows almost exclusively because they stay put all day long and don’t get in the creases. This month I added Black Pearl to my collection. I use Bronze Moon on the eyelid, Blond Opal in the corner of my eye and under my eyebrow, and I’m going to use Black Pearl on the outer corner of my eye and to line the bottom eye. This will make a great Smoky Eye Cream, and I can’t wait to try that for a date night in Belize.

You can see that the look is subtle when blended together. I use my fingers to blend the products first, starting with the lightest colors. I was intrigued by the Eyeko Eyelid Gloss in the color, Retrograde. I’m not sure what I expected, but this “gloss” liquid eyeshadow is pretty cool!

It is hard to show the shine of the eyelid gloss, but if you look at the other eye, it looks muted on the lid. The eyelid with the gloss looks shiny and glossy, and I was pleased with the results. The color looked purplish online, but I don’t think it looked purple once I put it on, but it might if I didn’t already have eyeshadow on under it.

The By Terry Blackstar EyeLiner is another product I ordered for my vacation. When I am in the water, I’m not going to be wearing a full face of makeup, but I do like to have my eyes show up. Since I am a “natural blonde,” I have light-colored lashes, and my eyes don’t shine unless they have some additional help from makeup. This eyeliner is waterproof, so I will be able to use it while sunning by the pool or taking a quick dip to cool off. Other uses for this product is when you are going to an event where you might shed tears. Funerals, weddings, the birth of a new baby, or even sad movies are all events that bring on the waterworks, and black tears aren’t a pretty sight.

Once the eyeshadow is done, I move to the eyebrows. I ordered the Eyeko Define It Brow Pencil in Light because I have light blonde/silver/white/gray hair. It takes a couple of swipes to get the dusting off of the pencil, and then it works great.

I use the spoolie end first to comb and shape the brows, and then I color in with the eyebrow pencil to get the shape I want.

I always start with the bottom of my eyebrow, and I never extend that line downward. I want to “lift” my eyes, so when I color in the top of the brow, that is where I might color above the hairline to get the shape I want. Go back with the spoolie to move hairs over the colored portion to create a natural look.

After my eyebrows are penciled in, I want to set them to keep them in place. The Eyeko Brow Gel in clear does a great job and looks natural once applied.

I suggest that you wipe off the excess product on the spoolie back into the tube. It doesn’t take much to hold the fine hairs in place, and they will stay put all day long.

I don’t usually wear waterproof mascara, but as I mentioned above, I need mascara so that you can see my eyes. This mascara is By Terry MascaraTerrybly Waterproof in black.

I apply the mascara to my lashes’ top, bottom, and backside. Applying mascara to the back of your lashes makes sure that the tips are good and covered, and it helps your lashes to look longer. I don’t use a lash curler, but if you do, make sure that you let the mascara dry completely before using one.

Ooooooh, I love this By Terry LIP-EXPERT MATTE Liquid Lipstick!!!! Before I even tried the lipstick, I loved the packaging. Am I the only one who cares what the packaging looks like for a product?

This product is very pigmented, so a little bit goes a long way. I suggest wiping off the excess product and starting with a light coat. You can always add more coats, but it can be overwhelming if you add too much. I am wearing Velvet Orchid, and I am obsessed with this gorgeous color. There are sixteen colors to choose from, so make sure that you click the part that says View All 16.

Because I know that you will ask, the smocked button front top that I’m wearing is also from Walmart. I’m wearing a size medium, and the fit is perfect for me.
