MONDAY AFFORDABLE FASHION FROM WALMART
Happy Monday! I hope you had an enjoyable weekend. It is time for my Monday Affordable Fashion post, but before I talk about fashion, let me tell you about our crazy weather. Here in Virginia, we have had a cold snap in our weather, and it has been a nice break from the heat. I went to set out on our screen-in porch to work and then came back in for my Barefoot Dreams cozy sweater. But that wasn’t enough, so I went back in and grabbed a throw blanket over my legs.
The temperature said it was 53 outside, but the wind was blowing too, so it felt a little colder. Yes. I could have gone back inside to work, but I enjoy sitting outside and watching the birds, bees, and an occasional chipmunk go to the water fountain on the patio to get a drink or a bath. Plus, since the wind was blowing, my wind chimes were serenading me, and I loved their sweet sound.
Affordable Fashion – Midi Dress
Last week, I showcased affordable dresses from Amazon, so today I’m styling fashion from Walmart. Dresses, especially sundresses, seem to be the rage this summer. I love dresses because they are so easy to wear. This is a one-and-done option, plus, only one thing needs to be washed. If you hate doing laundry as much as I do, then you understand my thoughts. This Flutter Sleeve Midi Dress is adorable, and I love the different colors. The dress is predominately in shades of blue, but I also see purples and greens, which harmonize well.
The dress is 100% rayon, it is soft and semi-dressy, and the shift style is relaxed. The fact that this helps to hide your tummy area is huge for me. The straps of the dress could be worn in different positions, but the way I’m wearing them in the first photos is how I would wear the dress most. I’m wearing a size medium, and it is still roomy.
I thought this Circle Tote Bag with Floral Embroidery looked perfect with the dress. I also include accessories in that category when I’m looking for affordable fashions. This lightweight tote is cute for summer, and it is relatively large. You could carry this to the lake, pool, or beach, but it looks cute carried every day. The tote comes in several different versions if you couldn’t see yourself carrying this floral one.
Affordable Fashion – Knee Length Dress
The next dress that I’m styling features a muted tropical print. Most tropical print items are BOLD and BRIGHT, but this one is subtle. This Printed Halter Dress is in shades of green for the most part, but there are shades of purple, orange, yellow, and even charcoal. This dress hits me right at my knees and has a cute ruffle hem for a little flirty detail. I’m wearing a medium, and the fit is great.
I get asked a lot about what bra I wear with dresses like this or off-the-shoulder dresses. It depends on the dress and where I’m going. If it is going to be hot, and I’ll be sweating, I will wear my Spanx Up For Anything Strapless Bra. If I wear a top or dress with a low back, I will wear either the Silicone Bra or Silicone Covers.
Here is a view of the dress from the back.
Affordable Fashion – Maxi Dress
Since I have already shown a midi-dress and a knee-length dress, I figured I should also include a maxi-dress. I like dresses in all lengths, but the maxi dress is probably what I wear the most. I never have to worry about showing white legs or if I have shaved my legs since this length hides many flaws. Lol!
I love the Flutter Sleeve Knit Maxi Dress in this dip-dye shade of blue. The color gets darker the farther down you go, which is a cool and unique detail. The sleeves are a little wider on this dress than on the flutter sleeve dress at the beginning of this post. I could wear a regular bra with the dress and not worry about the straps showing. This dress also has pockets, which is always something that I love. I’m wearing a medium, and the dress fits me great.
I’m carrying a Large Crescent Crossbody Bag in 100% Straw. I like how substantial this bag is; it is rigid and feels very sturdy. The ba comes with the scarf and a removable crossbody strap that I don’t have showing. This bag comes in several colors, and a smaller version is available in hot pink or blue. Those would be great for a pop of color, and they still looked summery.

Love the printed halter dress! Saw this post and ordered it for myself yesterday. It arrived today, it is perfect for summer and for just $16.
You always find such cute things from WalMart!
I love the first dress best. It’s so cute and bright. I’d like it better if the stripes matched though.
May have to try it anyway.
Love these, thank you for affordable options. I’m not quite comfortable with my arms but these are worth considering!
Like be all three dresses. Thanks for doing a Walmart. Cause that’s all we have to shop at around where I live unless you want to make a drive.
You look great in all three dresses! Oh, how I wish for the cooler temps; highs this week are expected to be in the triple digits then add the humidity on top of that, it will be downright miserable.
