AFFORDABLE FASHION MONDAY WITH DRESSES UNDER $45

I love a date night with Joe, and we try to do one every Saturday night. I had planned on going to eat at The Tavern, and this dress was what I was going to wear. But, I changed my mind and decided to fix dinner here instead so that we could enjoy the fire pit that finally got finished.

We have been in the process of converting a wood-burning fire pit to gas, but we had some issues with the rock wall being uneven and leaving holes. Joe first tried to find some rock and attach it to the wall, but that proved to be a royal pain. Instead, he came up with a solution that worked great, and we spent yesterday afternoon relaxing by the fire.

I bought four Teak Adirondack Chairs, added a blue Adirondack High Back Cushions with a headrest, and a Multi Tile Lumbar Pillow for some color.

We sat out by the fire until after 10 pm, then we finally went inside before we turned into pumpkins. Joe said, “I guess we are finished with the patio,” and I laughed and told him we still had one more project. The dining table needs to be replaced, but I’m not in a hurry to do that since we rarely eat outside.

AND…I got my Black Opal Ring back!!! I am thrilled to finally have it back since it has been 2 years since it broke. Leon’s Jewelry is where we bought the ring almost 26 years ago, and they are great to work with. I lost the big stone in the middle about 10 years ago, and they repaired it for me.

So, I guess this dress will have to wait until next date night since it looks like we will be sitting by the fire again tonight. I bought a watermelon that has been cubed, and we will have chicken stirfry for supper. Doesn’t that sound better than a fancy dinner that would cost us over $100?

Y’all, I love this navy polka-dotted Off The Shoulder Maxi Dress!!! It makes me feel so pretty, and isn’t that the goal of our clothing? It should make you feel like a million bucks when you put it on, and this one sure delivers. The dress is lined about to my knees, so there is no need to worry about it being see-through. It is very comfortable, and I love the way that it fits. You could wear this anywhere you want, but I think it would be great for a cruise, reunion, wedding guest, or to a friend’s house.

This dress runs true to size, I’m wearing a large and I like the way that it fits. The shoulders are one of the last places that our bodies show age, so showing your shoulders isn’t a bad thing at our age. You can always add a lightweight wrap if you are uncomfortable, and I’ll link to a couple below that you might like.

I added white accessories, but you could add pops of color with your accessories if you wanted. Red, Grass Green, or Hot Pink would look great with this outfit, so play around with different accessories and see which you like the best. My Shell 2-Strand Necklace is one that I’ve worn a lot this summer. I also added a David Yurman Cable Loop Bracelet, my 18 Kt. Gold Vermeil Cross Necklace, three Riveria Stretch Bracelets in Natural, a Beaded Elania Stretch Bracelet, and my earrings are Danielle Mother of Pearl Link Earrings.

The Leather and Rattan Handbag has already sold out, but I’m not shocked since it was so cute. I’ll link to it anyway in case they replenish the inventory which sometimes happens. These by Lilly Pulitzer are very similar. I have the large satchel tote, and it is gorgeous!!! The first time that I carried it I got several compliments.

This Smocked Cami Maxi Dress is more casual looking than the maxi dress above. I love the colors of the dress, and it also shows off the shoulders. I would probably add a cardigan with this dress, or maybe a denim jacket for a more casual look. The wildflower print that I’m wearing is almost completely sold out, but there are a lot of other colors and prints you might like instead. I’m wearing a large, and it fits me great.

The Tan Espadrille Sandals are a pair that I’ve been wearing all Spring. I love tan/natural colored shoes since they elongate your legs and they go with anything. These have a 1 1/2″ platform and a 4 3/4″ heel, so they aren’t for the faint of heart. I’ll link to some others that will give you the same look, but without the height.

The jewelry that I decided to wear is the Sophee Drop Earrings, the Adeline Link Chain Necklace, an 18 Kt. Gold Vermeil Cross Necklace, and a David Yurman Cable Loop Bracelet.

This Woven Vegan Crossbody Handbag is so lightweight and perfect for summertime. The bag can be carried as an evening bag with its chain-link handle that I’ve removed in this photo. The last time I carried this handbag, it was sold out in this white1 color, but they have restocked it again.
